This story is so inspiring to me! I have my first mud run coming up on the 20th and I am starting to doubt myself. But seeing your story helps me believe I can do it, no matter how long it takes me I will finish! Can you give me any tips on how I can mentally and physically train betterfor this in the next few weeks? Thank you for posting this!

I've done a Warrior Dash but was a little apprehensive about trying a Tough Mudder. Your post has really pumped me up to go for it!

The cute guys were a big plus, LMAO. I did Warrior Dash last year and that prompted me to sign up for Tough Mudder. The concept is the same, the obsitcals for Mudder were definitly harder, though. I noticed with Warrior Dash almost everyone could get through every obstical, they're designed to look scarier than they really are. Tough Mudder it was the oposite. The obsticals not only looked scary they were scary LOL. But, honestly, if I could do it anyone can.

I shot you an email but the jist is: if you've trained for the distance that's the biggest part. Strength training is icing on the cake. And it becomes mostly mental, you just have to be able to talk yourself through it and know that you're going to be fine.

You'll get to your goals! Just keep at it. While I may have made the goal to do TM a year ago, this journey has really been about 5 years long. At my heaviest I couldn't even walk up a flight of stairs without getting winded. I never thought I could do this. You'll see, you'll amaze yourself too.

It's my "life goal" to compete in a Tough Mudder competition. I want to be able to do ALL of the obstacles (....though I'm sure I won't, as I'm oh so horrible claustrophobic....and have the upper body strength of a hamster...).

Reading this just made my day. It's very inspiring for me to know that someone, who isn't basically an athletic trainer, can go through these and make it to the end. I can't imagine how on top of the world you feel knowing you competed and completed the challenge!

And not only that, knowing that other people who aren't even associated with you are willing to help you out makes it even more exciting for me.

Thank you for posting this. I'm very inspired by your accomplishment by completing a Tough Mudder event!

    Great job!

Thanks for sharing, you have inspired me. I am registered for the Carolina's Spartan Beast (same idea, a couple miles longer) next week and I was starting to get worried. I will think of you every time I start having doubts on the course.

Great job-the electrical wires are what scares me the most from doing this event-EVER.
