How long before marriage proposal?

Hi guys, just wondering how long on average people wait before being asked for their hand in marriage by their loved ones?

    took me six months and most of that was trying to walk again so I could get on one knee..although still didn't manage that bit.
    I guess when you know and everything is right (house, money, stuff) then why wait?

    I told him he has to wait a year. But I would not want to date longer than 3 before we got hitched. He asked 1 year and 1 week after we started to date and got married 5 months later. Been married for 1 1/2 years.

    Wow there certainly is no set time by the looks of it! In reply to shredded tweet, age is just a number, I am old beyond my years and have seen more of this world than most people in their 30s!

    I proposed a year in. He re-proposed a year after that saying it's the "mans" job to do that lol.

    We met at the beginning of college and I had plans for professional school. Thus, we waited until our lives/careers were figured out and we were both in a good place and he was able to support us financially while I finished school. So for us it was almost 4 years.

    First marriage a couple months. Marriage lasted 3 years. We were togehter 4. My real marriage it was just shy of 3 years. Married a year and together almost 6! (I think I did that math right lol) Unless one of dies young, we will be married 50. :)

    got engaged after dating 5 months, and 6 months later was married with first kid on way, and two more after that....almost 9 beautiful years now....so really anytime if know what you want and how you feel grab it and hold on to it......

    It took 6 years before we got engaged. :happy: Sounds long, but we were both really young when we first started dating and we were mainly just trying to save up money so we could have a nice wedding and honeymoon. We already knew we were going to get married eventually, so it wasn't a rush. We just celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary last month.

    A year and 10 months. But we knew as soon as we met we were gonna marry each other, but he wanted to not only ask for my hand to my parents, which he did a full year before even getting a ring, he wanted to propose in front of all my family--and since we live 1200 miles away from them, it took a while! :laugh: But he proposed Thanksgiving of last year because when else is all the family together at one place without seeming suspicious? lol

    Five months for first husband. I was widowed less than a year later. Three and a half-years for second husband and we've been married almost 33 years.

    Now one of my sons started dating his sweetheart in high school and took 10 years before proposing. They were married last summer.
