    Options
    October 1: 30 minute walk on the beach and a forest path so I logged it as a short hike.
    October 3: 60 minute walk (with 25 minutes of C25K intervals within it) Yesterday I did Aquafit so no walk.
    October 5: 25 minutes ( I went to take some pictures to use in my art class I teach and decided to park so I had a nice walk there and back) I might take a longer walk tonight with my husband but at least I did this.
    October 6: 30 minute walk with my husband I forgot to post.
    October 9th 60 minute walk with C25K. ( Aquafit on the 8th)

    Hi Everyone, my goal for October is to walk 100 miles.

    Oct 1: I walked 5.4 km (3.25 miles) today. It was a beautiful fall day - perfect for walking.
    Oct 2: I walked 4.2 km (2.5 miles) today. Total 5.75 miles. Another beautiful fall day.
    Oct 3: No walk
    Oct 4: I walked 5.4 km (3.25 miles) today. Total 9.00 miles. Such a great evening.
    Oct 5: I walked 3.25 miles today. Total 12.25 miles. Started out with great weather but ended up in the pouring rain. Oh well, it's still Friday!! Canadian Thanksgiving, so a long weekend - hurray!!
    Oct 6: I walked 3.6 miles today. Total 15.85 miles. Quite a bit cooler today - had to wear a warm jacket - but still a nice day, especially for walking.
    Oct 7: I walked 3.3 miles today. Total 19.15 miles. Very cool again to day plus starting to get dark so early - walked at 8:00 pm in the dark. Too bad!
    Oct 8: No walk. (Canadian Thanksgiving - too many dinner guests - too much turkey and pumpkin pie!!)
    Oct 9: I walked 3.25 miles today. Total 22.4 miles. Fabulous fall day today - leaves are changing colour. Such a great time of year to walk.

    Two walks so far this week. 90 minutes on Monday night and 90 minutes on Tuesday. Full winter gear now and dark before 7 pm, so had to change routes.

    Oct 12: Gosh, where is everyone tonight?? I walked just 1.75 miles today. Total 27.4 miles. It was a great night - Friday, nice weather and our granddaughter is sleeping over so she walked with us also - it's all good!! Have a great weekend, everyone.

    Just seen this thread and thought I'd post my walking plans and success so far.

    When I started on this weight loss journey, I was the type who would happily jump into the car to go to the local newsagent. I started on this site at the end of June, with the intention of just tracking my calories. As you can imagine, I lost well to start with and then plateaued about six weeks in, at which time I realised that if I seriously wanted to lose it and keep it off I had to not only eat less but also move more. So I started walking to help with the weight loss. I'm currently using the Endomondo Android app and the website (www.endomondo.com) to keep tabs on my times and distances.

    In three weeks of August, no doubt inspired by the Olympics, I walked a total of 29.45km. In September I walked on 19 days out of 30, and covered 77.86km. My target for October was 100km (62½ miles).

    So far I've walked on every day but one (Monday 8th). So far I've covered 55.79km (just under 35 miles) at an average speed of 6.48km/h (a shade over 4 mph). I'm finishing work at noon today and hoping to put another 5-6k onto that total!

    Oct 14: I walked 3.25 miles today. Total 31.65 miles. I need to get moving if I'm to hit my target for the month. It was quite a good walk tonight - very mild with a bit of rain at the beginning but it stopping shortly after we got started.

    I have a really bad back and can't stand or walk more than a few minutes without pain but . . . . i am challenging myself to get on the treadmill (so I can hold on as it helps) and go for 10 min walks at least 2 times a day. Big challenge for me but I am getting encourage with hearing about all of you and your challenges. Thanks!

    CHERI: Just do what you can anything is better than not moving. :happy:
    I also have lower back issues which I have everyday, arthritis, SI joint and
    disc problems but i do something everyday. I find when I sit too long
    I really get stiff. Good luck and don't give up.
