Yeah me, I finally broke the 200 lbs mark.
Starting Weight - Dec 1 - 215
Current Weight - 199.5
Trying to lose 9.5 lbs by the end of the month.
Also, just had to let everyone know. I found sugar free tropical pops in the freezer the other day. OMG. I hate sugar free stuff because of the aftertaste. but this had none. Tasted like it was made with juice and only 15 calories. Perfect end to the evening.
Did Cardio Monday - friday.
Water was 4 out of the 7 days
Was about 1/2 on under calories.
Congratulations getting under that 200 mark...Its feels so good when the scale moves on done:drinker:0 -

Good morning!
I measured myself this morning just like I did on Jan. 3rd. and Feb. 1st. My measurements were the same both days, but today, my waist was the same, but I've lost half an inch in my hips! It's not much, but it's in the right direction! I was sure I had lost a little in my waist because my pants are fitting just a bit better. Not much, but better.
I took my daughter in for her 6 year check-up (:noway: still hard to believe!) We've been referred to an audiologist. She failed their hearing test. She failed it almost a year ago on a sick follow-up visit after a bad ear infection. Her ear drums had ruptured twice. We were referred then too, but they said that soon after the ear infection, it could be a temporary loss and she could be fine after her ear drums completely heal. She seemed to be hearing just fine this summer, but since school started we've noticed she's not hearing as well as she should be. It's not bad, and it's not affecting her school work, but at this point, it's time to get it checked.
It's a beautiful day today even if it is cold, so my plan is to walk from home to pick up the kids from school today.0 -
Cathy, sometimes it's just necessary to take a bit of extra time. You should go for a gentle walk and stretch to help move the massive amount of lactic acid!
Amyls, yes, BACK ON THE HORSE today. I can hardly believe the crap I ate yesterday. And so much of it! Ah well..
Amypyr, you're right - it's a step in the right direction!
Well, I need to figure out some exercise to do. Bummed knee, possibly broken foot, bummed wrists... this is getting ridiculous! I have one fully functional limb right now! :grumble: But I think I'll do some weights and stationary boxing today to get in a bit of cardio. That's the plan anyway! Have a great one Sixers!0 -
pedal...what happened to your foot? the trainer emailed me and said to come in and he would show me some exercises to do to put pressure on the sore spots. i did the workout at my pace. i have never had so much pain from working out before. he also wants 3 days food to look at. he has education in all the area of fitness. this should be interesting in what he finds. he's into the zone diet. he changes it around to fit your life style.
hope you feel better soon.0 -
Just twisted my dag on ankle! :-( ARG! Had such a good day yesterday. will fill you all in later. Just got off from working 30 hours. Have to do it again Sunday. So... pretty tired.

Well, I had been avoiding the scale but it was time to face the music. up .8 but it is TOM so I will live with it.
Just wanted to check in and see how everyone was doing.
Gotta run and get ready for work.0 -
Good morning Sixers! I made my little goals yesterday! My eating wasn't great yesterday, but it wasn't too bad either. For the next week or so I'm going to concentrate on increasing my water intake and my exercise level instead of food. I'm not going to allow myself to eat just anything, but I'm not going to worry about my calories as much. I have noticed a trend over the 9 months I've been here that I do better (and feel better) when exercising and getting enough water.
Rhiannon, Cathy, & Tiff - How are you feeling today after your injuries/sore muscles?
Amy(pdx) - How is the new job going?
More personals later. Gotta get back to work!0 -
Good mornings Sixer Sistas:laugh:
I new to this group & was wondering when do you all weight in?
I'm having a very challenging week due to Valentines on Sunday, Hubby's birthday was on Tuesday & Son's birthday is today Hmmmm. Fortunately I've learned from MFP & my long departed Grandmother that it's "the too much" that makes you fat.
It's my youngest childs birthday today, he's 18 years old & has a mind set to look good & be healthy. He does NOT want birthday cake...I'm like What???:noway: I was wanting his cake sooo it's his special day so no cake. We are however going out to dinner this time to Bennihanna's where they cook Japanese food in front of you as a group so that should be a lot of fun.
Gotta get back to work...hope all is well
Have an Awesome Day Sixers,0 -
know....avoid the rice. if you can't just ask for 1/4 of it. that's the worst. also i ask for extra veggies. i like the veggies.
my muscles are much better today thanks.
back later lunch and i have a headache from not eating0 -
ooooOOOooO I just LOVE the rice... and too be honest that's what I ate for lunch today! lol but I can't go back because they were rude to me for no reason, though I eat there all the time. lol. Maybe that's a sign from the Almighty. lol
I worked out hard on Wednesday even left the hospital to run to the gym to run 4 miles! go me! then only got 4 hours sleep because I was on call and made me too tired to study and work out on Thursday, twisted my ankle doing a dance routine... so that sucks. Now I'm hoping the ankle will be good for tonight so I can work out! oh well... also, I have dedided I am going to give up fried foods for lent. That way I can still have my french fries... they will just have to be baked/0 -
oh and amy my ankle feels ok.. it's better than yesterday but still hurts. Oh well I think it will get better with time! Hopefully!0
-
Oh Tiff you make me laugh! Thanks for that and I'm glad the healing is on!
As I have said to my friends and DH family members for lent is to give up 'giving up' then you will never have to feel ashamed or guilty when you stumble or fail! LOL Just a suggestion but your idea is a great one!!
I hopped on the hotel dreadmill and ran 4 miles this morning!
Have a great weekend all!0 -

Alison- I like the new picture.... and slow and steady is the best way to remove weight. Keep up the good work. How's the cooking going lately?? I know you love to do it
Lulabelle- It's ok to have a few bad choices, just LEARN from them. You are definitely going to focus ... keep working at it.

I'm just relaxing and enjoying it way tooooo much. Having a mini It's my birthday month shopping spree. I finally have heat again in my house so that makes me feel better. I currently have alot of things to do before I move but I'm taking it one step at a time.... but on Monday I'm going to Danville to look for places to live. Its a 4 hr drive for me. I just want to have an idea of my options since April is getting closer and closer.
Today is my rest day for fitness but I spent Mon-Thurs doing classes at the gym. YAY I'm going tomorrow for a few classes too. Gotta get it in while I have this membership. When I go out of town I'm gonna look at the gym options too.
Take care ladies,
Tamm0 -
Verda- I HATE treadmills and I often call them the same thing. If that was the only gym machine I would be HUGE AGAIN. They just bore me to death. Good job on working out anyway! Keep working it out!0
-
wheres the group been????
today is grocery shopping and DH wants to start the digging of the garden. need to order the plants.
better get myself in gear and shower and off before the deals are gone.
hope everyone has a great weekend....0 -
Good morning everyone... Week has been so hectic! I have been working out again and the heel pain is coming back. OUCH!! Plan on calling the doc next week to see what else i can do. I don't want to stay off of it for 2 mnths again. I actually miss running. Well i will check back in later. Need some breakfast and coffee!
Tamm - agree on the treadmill but the weather has been so strange in STL this past year. Very rainy last summer and we have had the coldest winter that i can remember. My gas bill shows it as well!
Sandy0 -
Hey sixers! sorry I have been absent, ive been reading and logging on i just havent had a lot of time available to post.
And even now I am going to have to make it short,
Did good on calories until last night, went to a party and went way over by a lot. Ive been working out hard, week 4 of C25K is much harder!!! the two five minute runs with the three minute runs in between is killing me. Ive been doing swimming, zumba, and stair master as extras with some weights. Tomorrow my family is heading up north to go snowboarding for the day, I am super excited to go! I havent been snowboarding in almost 2 years!!!!! I babysit tonight, which should be interesting. I am at work now, but i REALLY need to do laundry and figure out if i have snow pants for tomorrow! o.0 I dont have a winter coat either so this should be REALLY interesting.
Well I need to get back to work, I hope everyone is having a great weekend!!!
B
p.s. did we settle on a name? Shamrock Shaking Sixers? ShamROCKING sixers? whats it going to be ladies?0 -
I like either name. I think I like Shamrock Shaking Sixers better, but I like them both.
I've been doing better with my exercise and water. I even surpassed my goals yesterday. My goals yesterday were to walk to pick up the kids from school (1.6 miles round-trip yesterday since we had to walk back into the school for a forgotten water bottle) and drink 6 cups of water. I did that, but ended up drinking a 7th cup, AND after the kids got to bed, I hopped up on the treadmill and walked another 1.2 miles! I enjoy my treadmill, but it is in my living room in front of the tv, so I put in my earphones, listen to good walking music and watch whatever I want on tv. I stay well entertained and work out at the same time. I don't think I would like it nearly as much in a gym or hotel.
My goals today are to walk 1.5 miles outside (beautiful warm day) and drink 7 cups of water. I've already done the walking, and I have 2 cups in already.
I hope everyone has a great Saturday!0 -
Yea! I drank all my water today! I think that is usually my biggest challenge! Exercised today, got out and did some yard work, first day over 35! It's nice to have some sun on my face and feel some warm air. Anyway have a great weekend everyone!
Sandy0 -
Test Friday and 30 hour call tomorrow... so needless to say I am going to be mia for a while:
I did a good job with my nutrition and squeezed in a good workout (exercise bike + weights) with the bf. [ by good job I mean, I ate about 1600 cals, and burned around 400 cals.]
I even went on a quick grocery run at the last minute! lol... got fish, fruits/veggies/ salad etc.
Even prepared lunch/dinner for tomorrow. I'm back on call for 30 hours tomorrow. So wish me luck!
What I packed in my lunch cooler/bag(got it from target and it's stylish and cute! :-) :
Lunch: chicken noodle soup + mixed salad with tomatoes (and lite dressing)
Dinner: baked tilapia (2 pieces) + 4 broccoli spears
Snack: carrot sticks + cheese square (80 cals) + granola
and I'm bringing exercise shoes and a jump rope just in case I can't get to the gym (we're not supposed to leave the hospital but sometimes they are nice and will let you leave for 45 mins or so!)0 -
Good morning everyone! You know what i like about MFP.... and all of you - This is the only place I know where we congratulate everyone for being "losers". Have a good day!
Sandy0 -
yay for the yardwork and water!!! Great job! I like the support we get here too! :-D
I woke up and did taebo before school/work. I'm already busy working hard! Hope you all have a relaxing Sunday!0 -
Hello!
I've been having a good week for the most part. I decided to give up negativity to Lent, because I am a firm believer that your thoughts and energy affect your life and what happens in it. I'm generally very positive, but I have just gotten really negative lately, especially through my many months of unemployment, and then a long very cold winter, and now adjusting to working full time again and not having time to keep the house clean every day. It's taking some effort to make my thoughts more positive again, but I'm definitely focusing on that.
So, the big thing I've been working on lately besides my job is that we're buying a house! We close at the end of March (or maybe sooner) and it's a pretty big house at a FANTASTIC price. Mostly because we moved from a town in Florida where a 1900 square foot house would easily be $250,000-300,000 and we're paying way less than half of that. It's pretty exciting. The house needs some cosmetic work -- mostly just changing out lighting fixtures and faucets, and a little bit of patching up a few places on the walls. We're also putting in new carpet, and thinking about laminate floors for part of it. And lots of landscaping. My exercise plan this spring is hard work and manual labor.
I haven't been cooking a ton lately, but I did make a great loaf of italian herb bread on Friday, and I'm planning a pot of chili for some time this week. I also have two birthdays coming up in the next few weeks (my best friend and my brother), so I'm sure I'll do some baking to mail off to them. I know my friend wants a batch of marshmallows, but my brother is a walking stick figure and only eats fast food, so maybe he'll just get an McDonald's card instead of something homemade.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend!
-Alison0 -
Hey ladies, sorry to have missed a week. It has been a rough one. Long story short, Cathy, you won't be hearing much about the boy anymore I'm afraid.
So in appropriate break-up mode I have been stuffing my face with well, anything that I can see in my apartment for the last 5 days so I am thinking weigh in on Tuesday will be awful. But after today its back on the wagon. I gave myself a few days to wallow and now I'm done.
So anyways, there's my explanation. I'm so sorry to have missed a week but I'll be back with this next weigh in for sure!0 -
ali....how fun. i love doing that sorta stuff.
amylou...sorry to hear of breakup. it's ok, i am going to have a bad weigh in too.
tiff...work, study, study, work. i bet you'll be glad when it's just work.
i ate friday, saturday, today. will be a bad weight in. but, it's life. and it goes on.
DH dug up the garden spot today, so this week i will be out there getting dirty and plowing for the seeds. need to send off for them.
later0 -
AmyLou: I'm sorry to hear about that. In rough times, I just tell myself that everything happens for a reason, and even if it doesn't seem like there is a reason or a positive right now, there definitely will be. Maybe now you're freed up to meet the man of your dreams.
Cathy: Have fun with the planting! I used to help my parents some when I lived at home, but I've been in apartments for almost 10 years now, so other than my house plants, I haven't been able to do much fun outside planting.
I made my second ever batch of cheese tonight! It's ricotta and it's delicious! Making cheese is such a cool process, and super easy. It's basically heating a gallon of milk with some sort of acid and then separating the fluffy white curds into cheese cloth and letting it drain a bit. I hadn't planned on making cheese tonight, but then I found a recipe in one of my favorite magazines (ReadyMade) and it seemed a little different than the recipe I used the first time, and the cheese this time is so so so much tastier! Between the homemade bread and the homemade cheese, I don't have high hopes for my weigh-in on Tuesday. It's okay though, I'm sure my weight will keep going down slowly.
