The bike I've been wanting for a long time is a Hyosung Avitar 650. Not expensive but I love the way it looks.0

See profile photo! Mine is a Kawasaki GPZ500. I'm in the UK - I think it was called the Kawasaki Ninja 500R in the US. I passed my full motorbike test just last month and this is my first "big bike". Couldn't wait to upgrade from my 125
p.s. happy to see so many other female riders!0 -
I love my Harley! 2010 Street Bob, she's all kinds of purty!0

I ride a 2006 Kawasaki Vulcan Classic 1600. I ride because it is very relaxing and free0

I ride both and find this comment to be pointless and unnecessary.0 -

Too cute! I want to paint my Virago white with pink flames, but my husband thinks it'll hurt the resale value :laugh:0 -

Thank you! And you should go for it!!! I had to fight for my pink bike (it was painted before I bought it). People would be surprised how much rare colors can sell for - there are people who want that paint job specifically but don't want to pay for the paint job themselves, ya know?
And for the record, when I read your response to the "pointless and unnecessary" comment, I wanted to applaud you. Thank you for saying what I was thinking! LOL0 -
I drive a cute little white moped/scooter :flowerforyou: with a pink sparkly glitter helmet!!
And drive a lambo gallardo for when I wanna hang with the boys! LOL :drinker:0 -
People should post their gear, too!0

Best destresser in the world.0 -
I ride a Honda CR 230L for my street bike, and for my off-road bikes, I have a Honda CRF 250 and a Suzuki RM 125. My husband rides a Honda 650 for his street bike.
We like them all.0 -
Glad to see there are some people on here who a bike enthusiasts!
The bike I keep going to is the Ducati Monster 696, even though I know it wouldn't be the best bike for me to start on. Expensive, doesn't have great clearance (for leaning on the track), but it's so damn exotic! A real rare beast in this neck of the woods! Oh, and the sound! *drool*
My biggest problem with something like the SV650 is that EVERYONE has one! I love to be different, stand out from the crowd.
As for anyone saying that it would be a waste to buy an expensive bike, just to drop it (I know I will) and have it written off... That's what insurance is for. :P
I ride a 2000 R1 but have ridden a few others to include a VTX 1300 and 1800's. I think you should buy a nice bike. However, I do believe in buying used, especially for a very first bike. Also, before you spend money on upgrades spend it on safety equipment and training. Just my .02.0 -

I currently ride a 08 Kawasaki 1500 Vulcan Classic fi.
I like the comfort and smoothness.
Wife likes the room on it and comfort since added a trunk.
I like the storage since trunk and saddle bags.
I have various other sizes.
Something to consider.
How long of trips you plan to take?
Are you ever going to ride 2 up?0 -
Today is the 40th anniversary of getting my first motorcycle.
I was given a Honda 50 for my 8th birthday, years of racing (dirt and road course) and numerous crashes (dirt/track/street) and I still ride.

Bike is a 2007 Triumph Speed Triple that now has about 37,000 miles on it - I got it new in August 2007.....
Due to my experience I wear gear on every ride - on short trips I will wear kevlar jeans, on longer trips I am a full-leathers kind of rider....
Feel free to mention power rangers and generally tell me I am a jerk for advocating full gear or explaining that it is too hot for leathers where you live. Many people do. But I've come off 'at speed' on a couple of occasions and actually worn through 1.6mm of fine italian leather as I have slid along the road, I have also worn soft spots in a helmet and escaped with little more than concussion......
oh and first bike ?
Ninja 250, then after 5000 miles an SV650, then after 10K and half a dozen track days, maybe a sports 600 if you want to actually learn to ride.
Otherwise it is up to you, but the more intimidating the bike, the less you learn.
PERIOD...0 -
I've been riding solo alongside hubby for 28 years. My first bike was a '65 Harley Panhead. Hubby fixed up a '80 Harley Wide Glide to get me off the Panhead - he said I was putting too many miles on it! I now have a '01 Harley Road King. I still ride all three bikes. Love my Harleys0
-
I ride a 94 Yamaha Vmax 1200. Great bike and wiked fast! New to posting on boards, so don't know how to post a pic. If there are anymore Vmax riders or lovers out there post pics!!0

NOOOO NO MOTARD. I saw a handsome, tall, sexy man with a helmet at a coffee shop one day, and he immediately caught my attention... UNTIL I saw him go get on his scooter. Go shop to shop, test out bikes. See what you like. Then decide. My first bike was a Honda Nighthawk 550, which was an excellent first bike. Now I ride a Vulcan Meanstreak. VROOM VROOM!!!! ah FREEDOM... it's wonderful...0
