Good morning team...Hope you all have a great Friday. I finally made it to the gym last night at about 8:00 but just didn't have the umph I needed to run, so I did the bike and walked for 15 minutes and then did the Nautilus machines. I would really like to get in a little run today just to keep at it. Everybody keep up the good work and have a happy weekend.
  • Good morning all!!! Yesterday was soooooo..... much better on the eating scheme of things. Found out why the day before was so pathetic....Thought it was stress eating!!!!!! NOT!!!!! TOM thank you very much! DAD GOME IT! Well at least I know the real reason for my binging!

YEAY....it is FRIDAY!!!! I am really ready for the week-end. Looking forward to getting some things done around the house as next week is going to be a zoo. We have a school function every night next week! I wouldn't miss being involved with the kids though!!! ;)

Well off to get busy for the day! Everyone make it a great Friday!

  • Can I join?

I'm part of another group but I find that it's mostly a bunch of complainers and people who make excuses constantly about TOM and whatever else. Not my cup of tea! I want a group that is accountable and just gets it done and this seems to be the one from what I can tell.

My husband deployed last month for 12-15 months in Iraq and want this next year or so to be MY year and accomplish my fitness and weight goals. I'm 156.2lbs as of yesterday morning and my goal is 145lbs at 5'8. I am also training for a marathon that's happening on June 26th.

Is there a certain weigh-in day that everyone has?

TEEHEE....And here I just posted that that was my "reasoning" for over eating!!!

Of course you can join and we are a very SUPPORTIVE group of people. We weigh in on Sunday's....send your weight to Jack who has kindly taken over our chart. We really try to celebrate each others progress and support each other on our downfalls. I think you will find what you need here!

Thanks to your husband for his service, and you can make it your year!!! Jump right in and join in!

    Welcome!!!
  • Thanks for all the welcomes

I had a good workout this morning - 60min elliptical and about 30-40min of weights. There is a woman at the base gym who is a machine and has this incredible body so whenever I see her I end up pushing myself more during my workouts.

Long run tomorrow - about 12-14miles. I just hope the rain stops.

It is going to be a very hard week, I am traveling on business all next week, so it will be difficult to be healthy, but I wil do my best. The hotel I am staying at has an affilation with a health club a block away, and I can workout for free as a guest of the hotel.

I had a very hard night tonight. I just got back from the funeral home. A 16-year-old boy from the county where I was born was murdered last week and left in a field. I found out today that his mother was one of my best friends in middle school. It just made me sick. I tried not to think too much about it, but it is very hard as my oldest son is the same age as the son she just lost. She didn't recognize me at first but when she did her face lit up. I gave her my address so we can exchange pictures from the old days. I plan on staying in touch with her during the hard times yet to come. Please remember this family in your prayers.
  • Good Morning all.....had another rough time yesterday. I thought I could put off eating lunch by about 3 hours....can't do that with diabetes. Sooo blood sugar dropped. I did get my exercise in, well at least part of it. I forget how important it is to eat at the same time every day. This is new to me cause most of the time I'd skip breakfast and lunch and just eat dinner and midnight snack. I am eating a lot of food now and seems my life is focused around the dinner table and that stove.

    Welcome aboard gym_rat.

Tammy, very sad circumstances, but it sounds like you definately helped out a bad situation.

Theresa, one thing I did was setup up my Food for 5 meals a day. So now I have Breakfast, Morning Snack, Lunch, Afternoon Snack, and Dinner. By planning this way, you keep the calories flowing all day.

  • Thanks guys for the advice and I do have a morning snack and an afternoon snack, but sometimes I forget to eat it. I had to eat out tonight. I've been at hospital all day. Niece had miscarriage. I haven't had very many carbs today so trying to get those in before crashing again. It's all a balancing act.

I've noticed the time. What time zone is this in. I'm central. And I'm the only one posting early.

    And welcome aboard.

What time is weigh in? And how do we get this to you Jack?

My name is Teresa with no H in it. Just don't call me Mother.

Good morning team...I had a very busy day yesterday. My youngest had to bowl on his youth league and then we were off and running for the rest of the day. Had family dinner last night with my dad and step-mom and we went Wii bowling. We try to do this once every other week or so. I had too much to eat but we had a good time. Off to church, then the gym and back to type for 8 hours this evening. Hope you all have a wonderful day. The sun is shining here in SC but it is cold and windy. See y'all tomorrow.
  • Happy Sunday everyone!

Last Sunday I was 156.2lbs. This Sunday I am 154.6lbs. I ran 12.1 miles yesterday as part of my marathon training program so I'm taking today off. It's really hard for me to take a rest day and I always have to remind myself that my body NEEDS rest and that it won't make me gain. It's still really hard. I'm trying to make every Sunday a rest day but oftentimes I find myself headng to the gym regardless.

So today, NO GYM. I'm walking down to the library to get out some books and then settling in to watch the Canada VS USA hockey game for olympic gold.

Good for you gym rat. awsome weight loss..... We too plan on watching the hocky game. However, we have a brand new High School/community activity stadium and the dedication is this afternoon. So.....we are going to have to record the end of the game so we can watch it when we get home!

    Have a fun day!

Thanks for the welcome. Having people over to watch Canada/US hockey game. I made a fruit tray and vegetable tray so I can east something too. I also have pretzels and baked tortilla's and salsa. Chips and dip for the guys. So I SHOULD be able to stick to my plan even with company.

The name spelling isn't really a big deal.

The time zone thingy - on the time when you post. What time zone is it set in? When I post, it shows like 5 something in the
morning. Just weird. My weight still the same. Today is my down time for recovery, so no exercise today. My muscle really hurt. I can hardly get up from my chair.

    Hey Everyone

Sorry I have been MIA. I had a terrible bout of food poisoning on Friday. I have never been so sick in all my life. I am feeling a LOT better now thankfully however my appetite is gone and I have to force myself to eat which is new for me! I had been on track with calories all last week until Friday and have been way under every day since. I'll work on eating really well this week.

I am down 2kgs but I would definitely not pick that as the way to lose it! I am now 75kg (165 pounds) which puts me ALMOST back in my healthy BMI. Just a half a kg to go!

I went for a run last night with my boyfriend which was fun. I am going to start running outside now the weather is getting warmer and it is light later. However I find it a lot harder outside than on the treadmill so I may need to go back to week 6 of C25K. I'll see.

Welcome to all the new people in our team! Good to see our numbers growing!

I hope you all had a great week

Amy....good to see you back. Sorry to hear about your foor poisening. YUCK. Sounds like no fun at all. We have had a really busy day around here today. Kind of not so good weather this afternoon so lots of indoor stuff. Got back on my wii tonight and did 20 minutes of free run and then some strength and other aerobics. Felt good.

Now to get ready for an extremely busy week!!!!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Sunday.

    Talk to you tomorrow!

Good morning team...Off to start typing. Hope you all have a wonderful day. I went to the gym yesterday so today will be a DVD of some sort, haven't decided yet. See y'all later.

Amy...I'm sorry you were so sick. Glad you are feeling better. I definitely think running outside is harder. I can do 25 minutes on the treadmill now but still struggle on the running trail outside the gym for the same amount of time. It has some pretty big hills. I am doing small hills on the treadmill (up to a 3 incline) but it must not be equivalent to the trail. I want to be able to run outside though so I'll keep going. Good luck.
