DOES ANYONE ELSE FALL OFF THE WAGON ON THE WEEKENDS?

I almost have, but have managed to cling on to that weight loss wagon because damn it, it's going to slimville and I want to be on it when it arrives!!0

I totally fell off the wagon this weekend. It makes me so mad that it takes 3 days sometimes to undo the damage I did. I still exercise, but my eating habits are terrible. Sometimes my attitude says I've been working hard and I deserve it, sometimes I just need a break. It's sooo annoying.0

For me, I dont consider it falling off the wagon. I allow myself 1 free day a week where I can eat and drink whatever I want and I dont log. I look at this journey as a long term thing, not on a day to day basis so I figure that if im strict and exercise regularly most of the time then im happy with that. Also, for me I dont look at any food as 'off limits', ive found in the past when ive dieted and not eaten many foods that I love that are considered bad for you - like pizza, burgers, pasta etc - then I havent been able to stick to it. This is the first time in my life that im doing things in a more relaxed way, but am seeing the results. Basically, I enjoy food, I enjoy socialising and I cant think of anything more depressing than going out for dinner with friends and eating a salad when everyone else is tucking into steak and fries!
Each to their own, but I would say its better to plan a free day and stick to your regime at all other times.
Good luck!0 -
I totally fall off on the weekends, I need structure to stay on track...I've tried to plan ahead, but when I am away from home I get lazy and make poor decisions. I just hope to not fall too far, and get right back on.0

First of all, weekends are just a hard time. I don't do as well on the weekends either. I think it is important to not be too hard on yourself. Maybe make a pact with yourself. Something like if you take weekends off, you have to work twice at long at the gym on Monday.0

I think its the mind set of "falling off the wagon". I used to think in those terms, but stopped. I began to look at it as my conscious decision/choice not to be as strict as usually as I am during the week. So I guess the question is are you getting the results that you want with not being so strict or to a schedule on the weekends? If not what are some things your willing to commit to to do so. Choices, gotta love'em :happy:0

I tend to drift off plan but I try not to go completely off track. For example this past Saturday, I stayed on plan all day but I snuck in a medium DQ Blizzard at the end of the day. I know if I go off track, I tend to go way off and then most of the following week playing catch up.0

I don't fall off - I jump off hootin' and hollerin'.0

I would do this when first starting this journey. But, the more exercise I do during the week... the more I learned that I love exercise. It takes will-power, determination, and the love for yourself and the results... but, I hardly ever mess up on the weekends anymore. I may go over a few calories... but, I still stay active.0

I went on a weekend getaway this weekend...to Vegas.
I'm not sure I would classify it as 'falling off the wagon'
I think the above is more accurate a depiction of the fall I took.

Wow this is the first time one of my posts has gotten a response like this. It feels good to know I'm not alone. Thanks Everyone!!!0

I'm having the same problem. Most of the time I do ok during the week but the weekend is a diferent story. Help!0

Yes! My Personal Trainer suggested that I pick ONE day of the weekend to cheat; however, I find myself doing 'bad' the whole weekend. I PLAN to do better this weekend. He also suggested-- that if I drink alcohol-- to ensure that I drink LOTS of water BETWEEN the drinks. The training helps with my energy--but I am not losing much weight because of my poor eating habits.
I need to get to the gym more also. GOOD LUCK for this weekend!!0 -
I can totally relate to this! LOL! I'm super disciplined Monday thru Friday at about 6pm, then Friday night thru Sunday night is a bit rough. :sick:0

OMG yes!!! For some reason I can't eat right on the weekends. I eat so much junk that I feel so guilty about it. But I can say that I never gain any weight back but I just feel so disgusted with myself.0

I do! Mostly because the week is soooo very structured and I am not under the influence of the hubby! But come the weekend and relaxtion and the hubby I fall off the wagon. It is getting better (not so bad) as I don't like the feeling. I am low carbing it as I have tried EVERYTHING else and nothing works. I now find if I add toomany carbs (as on the weekends) I don't like the feeling the next day so am getting better each week! So, you are not alone!0

I am terrible for going off the wagon at the weekends too I think I have the same mentality as you, however, I tend to also go off the wagon even if I just have a little bit of naughty. For example, I've been good all day then early eveniong have a bit of chocolate, then I seem to slip into thinking "Well i've ruined it now, I might as well go for it"!!
I am trying to teach myself now that it is ok to have a treat, and if I do have a treat, it doesn't mean I have to eat bad for the entire weekend or day!! Think how much better we would be doing if we could think like this....0 -
its so hard to stay on track on the weekends.. my boyfriend is in college and i go visit him every weekend.. he lives in a dorm and we have to eat out like every meal! I try pretty hard to stay on track. He is also trying to gain weight and eats cookies and cupcakes etc. I usually only have one! Also, I eat pretty well during the week and workout a lot so i think that it sort of evens it out and allows me to still lose weight since some days my net is a little low0

A few years ago I did Weight Watchers and I did not really keep track on the weekends but I was still able to lose 20 lbs (of course I've gained it all back and then some ) I've found that I was much happier when I didn't restrict myself on weekends but made sure to be "good" during the week. I'm trying to get back in that habit!0
