Suddenly everyone seems to be talking about thigh gaps--what are they talking about? It just sounds weird. Like, a tooth gap in your thighs?

it's a new term. i think it's that gap between the upper thighs just below the crotch that fit women have when they stand with their legs next to each other. i never heard of it until The Chive started doing weekly photo galleries of it.0

yea....when a woman is standing with her legs together and her knees or feet touch before the tops of her thighs....
I could achieve this at a healthy weight just b/c the way my legs are shaped....I'm built just like my mom except smaller and when she was young her knees touched before the tops of her things.0 -

For whatever reason, a lot of women want to look like 12 year old girls whos thighs dont touch when they walk. I dont get it. Id rather have thicker thighs than chicken legs. I dont think they realize that its how your built, not necessarily how skinny you are....0

It is a casual apparel thigh that has struggled since the late 90's due to being sandwiched between a lower and higher sister company, those companies being Thigh Banana Republic and Thigh Old Navy.0

That's IT? Just that the thighs don't touch when a person stands with their feet together? I can't believe that's what all the fuss is about. Seems like there are a lot of physical results from getting fit; I don't see why that one is so desirable. Is there a term for when you stand up straight with your shoulders back and your arms flexed and you don't get creases in your back fat? I think she was just saying that she thought the person looked good in the before picture as well as in the after picture. i think some people find it attractive because it's appearing in a lot of magazines now, and a low of celebrities have it, which makes it desireable. However, it's mainly due to bone structure. You can't get it if you have narrow hips.

Some weird goal that a lot of girls go after. It's mostly due to genetics though so I don't know why so many people think they can achieve it by dropping to a really low weight.0
