I just seem to stick mine on top of a Ryvita....how do you have yours?
Inspirational, mouth watering ideas would be very appreciated (not sure how likely that is though!)

I'd love new ideas too. I just started eating it and enjoy it with a drizzle of honey or mixed with guacamole and tuna on a wrap.0

Jalapeno papers and peanuts????0
-
Sprinkle some sliced almonds or some unsalted roasted soy beans.
Mix with cinnamon and eat with apples.
With strawberries/peaches.
Mixed in with a salad to cut the amount of dressing needed (my favorite).
LOTS of it in lasagna to make it super creamy [i don't use cheese or ricotta].0 -
Sometimes with fruit
Cottage Cheese Pancakes
With pasta sauce on top
on crackers
YUM!0 -
Seriously, this is one of the most versatile foods.
-plain
-With fruit, or with fruit and cereal
- with pepper and hot sauce
-seasoned, then used to stuff pasta shells
-mixed with tuna (it really counters the flavor of canned tuna)
- with chips, kind of like salsa
-with honey and cinnamon (or without cinnamon, if you're not a big fan)
- with oatmeal
-mixed with hummus and put on my salad like dressing0 -
I haven't done this in a while - but back in college I would take Cottage Cheese, mix it with any container of yogurt... then add unsalted peanuts, raisins, and crushed pineapple. The pineapple would overpower everything... it didn't look good, but it sure was tasty!0

Love cottage cheese!0 -
Hopefully not on my thighs!
Really though, I put it in the center of a half of a cantaloupe or in an avocado and gobble it up! I also love it with peaches or pineapple.0 -
I spread 2 tbsp. on a tortilla, with 2 tbsp. pizza sauce, some shredded cheese and turkey pepperoni, roll it up like a burrito and heat it in a skillet. It gets all melty and delicious. I can't seem to stomach it cold.0

with mandarin oranges0

On the shelf at the grocery . . . where it belongs.
Cottage cheese is one of the few things I just refuse to eat. Ick.0 -
Cottage cheese tacos: sautee some spinach, onions, and garlic, adding a healthy dose of cayenne pepper. Mix some garlic salt into your cottage cheese. Put salted cottage cheese on a tortilla and top with the veggies.0

Are you sure you want to know? K. Here goes !
I love cottage cheese so I'm always "creating". And I'm always all over a protein-rich, healthy fat snack.
In my mini food processor:
1 cup lowfat cottage cheese
2 TB nut butter ( PB & Company Dark Chocolate Dreams is perfecto)
Blend until creamy. Plop it in a bowl and put it in the freezer for about 15 minutes.
I add fresh berries, 1/4 cup of nuts or seeds and I will usually crumble in a square (or 2) of dark chocolate.
YUM.
Today - I got a bit too crazy with it. I threw in a handful of baby spinach. You may NOT want to do that : )0 -
I've been meaning to try it this way for lunch.. it sounds delish!
Herbed Cheese & Tomato Sandwich (total under 400 calories)
* 6 ounces low-fat cottage cheese
* 1 garlic clove, minced
* 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
* Dash of salt and pepper
* 1 whole-grain bagel
* 4 slices tomato
* 1 orange
Place cottage cheese in blender and puree until smooth. Stir in garlic, chives, salt, and pepper. Spread mixture on bagel and top with tomato slices. Eat with orange.0 -
I love it with crunchy veggies, like radish, cucumber, onion, green onion, bell peppers. Even with slices of olives. All mixed up. And maybe a touch of crumbled bacon bits.0

Ohhhh YUM. Gotta try it !0 -
Plain or with a little salt and pepper.0
-
I'm pretty boring with it I think. I only eat it plain, right out of the carton. Or on a bed of greens (spinach, arugula, kale, etc.) with tomatos, peppers, fruit or peas.
It's also a good substitute for ricotta in lasagna0 -
With this:

On top of sugar free peaches or pears.0
-
Pepper and spicy salsa with a few baked tortilla chips, quinoa crackers, or wasa multigrain crisps for scooping.0
-
I just eat mine plain or with some sort of fruit.0
