curlie, you must've gotten my sunshine. Give it back! LOL

I worked everything out between the wii board & the home scale. Found one of Grace's markers underneath the wii board, which would throw it off just enough to effect a reading. Home scale says 212.2. That's a 3 lb loss this week. I'LL TAKE IT!

My goal for the month: Lose 14 lbs in 18 days. This should be fun.

I've been losing about .7 lbs every day, and if you divide 14 by 18, you get .78

Oh and further report on the system six supplement I'm taking: I noticed that I'm feeling happier. Hubs just confessed that one of the reasons he encouraged me to get this one is because... *drum roll* it has a mood booster. I'VE BEEN DRUGGED! LOL

I confess I have the attention span of a fraggle (there's a reason my favorite Pixar characters are Dory & Dug-- so very close to home in terms of relating to them. "SQUIRREL!"), so I let hubby do the reading on the important stuff on the fact sheet by the bottle.

Also took some of them at dinner last night. I was concerned they'd make it hard to sleep b/c of the caffeine, but I had no problem falling asleep. Haven't noticed any side effects other than the thermo one where your metabolism goes into overdrive and your body heats up (hot flash). Not complaining though as I've had a hard time lately getting warm. So it's a good thing.

You're all having a wonderful day, right? :)

    Hey ladies!

I hope all if the sickness is away from our group!!!!

Trish! That's awesome that you are losing again! Those pesky markers will get you everytime! I might be asking you about those pills after I get my results back from my blood tests....

    Lacking water, must go drink!

Nicole, hope you got your water in. I got 84 oz in today.

The TM & I had it out tonight. I WON! The last running interval totally sucked, but I won. I ran 5 mins, 3 mins, 3 mins with walking intervals in between obviously. It was a push, and it showed. I confess that I did stop the belt once because I was getting a cramp in my belly (not my side, but just to the left of my diaphragm). So I paused to try and stretch it out... but that was at 19:23 mins out of a 25 min run. TAKE THAT, TREADMILL!

My only thing is I need to focus more on keeping my breathing controlled. Tonight I had too much fun early on rocking out with Steve. I'm glad I was wearing my "I'm Cuckoo" coco puffs t-shirt so everyone around me would understand the crazy lady on the TM singing Bowling For Soup & Beach Boys under her breath.

Nicole, do you have any good stretches for the outside of one's leg from the knee to the ball of the ankle? That's one of the muscles that was bugging me tonight, and I'm pretty clueless when it comes to stretching.

By the way, where is other runner Katie?

I have not been able to get off the weight since baby number two, and had gained weight before the pregnancy thanks to medications. So now really working to get it all off, dosen't come off as easy as it used to. :(

    Welcome red!

Trish-YAY!!! Iknew your will was stronger than the TM's!!!!! the best way to stretch that is instead of just reaching over and touching your toes for the hammie stretch, cross one leg over the other and then bend over and stretch. It gives you a deeper stretch in your hammies, and the side of your leg.

We are going to start to build a chicken coop today! YAY!! we will have our own eggs soon! So, as usual, I don't know how much I will be on here!

a chicken coop?! nicole, our living environments are so different!! have fun! :)

oldest one had therapy this am. seemed to be a good session. learning more abt anger and also outlined good and bad things about having bipolar. therapist will be bringing that to the school mtg at the end of the month.

ds2 is in her room. supposed to be cleaning it up for a playdate today. but probably still crying/sulking b/c she completely broke her shade now to where it won't go up at all. we plan on replacing hers and sis' BUT why bother b4 we leave the house when they'll only be too rough AGAIN and break more shades. it's not like they are $2 shades. kwim?

today is animal day here and we have many fun things planned--incl musical animals, animal charades, pudding/dirt cups, animal puzzles, paper barn and animal craft, paper rooster craft.... will write out a list and we'll just check it off as we go along. hope it will be fun!

kim, glad the fam is feeling better--and progress on the shower--super awesome!!
amy--are you out there girl?? how's that spur? i hope icing it worked.
    katie--still in SA?
and trish--you continue to show us what it means to have DETERMINATION! you go, girl!! you're probably feeling happier b/c st. john's wort has anti-depressant properties. but you need to be careful--review all supps with your dr to be sure you don't have any cross-indications.
welcome red! this is a great group of supportive women.

i'm still not on the wagon---but i'm here. and that has to count as enuf for me rt now. no pity--just where i am.
have to be accountable, tho, so that's why i say it.

val and dolphin--know you're out there too--hope you have a GREAT saturday!
    later--:flowerforyou:

So no excersize today... unless you count laundry and bleach bombing the kitchen excersize. lol

Have manged to keep the calories and carbs down, till Hubby brought home a Krystal Chik. (a mini fried chicken sandwich, aka a part of the south). Surprisingly it didn't take me off track!

I would love to reply to more (especially the chicken coop) but my 9 month old is in my lap and she wants to type. Seriously... I am raising a geek. She will code html before she walks.

    Happy Weekend!

Welcome, Red! I have a 20 month old who's convinced she's a computer hacker. No thanks to her dad, of course. He even went as far as building her a program that "colors" when she pounds on the keyboard. She's made screens appear that my computer programming/building husband has never even seen before, LOL.

I was going to make strombolli for dinner, but we ended up getting Subway... and I'll tell you why.

Several days ago we noticed the carpet in our bathroom was... erm... squishy. By the way, whose brilliant idea was it to put CARPET in the BATHROOM?! It was here when we bought house. *Strangles common-senseless previous owners*
It was also WET. We suspected a toilet leak. The leak got progressively worse until it was moving out ahead of the toilet. Andy finally had some time today to get a look at it. Can I tell you what a turn on it is to see my computer geek husband doing MAN JOBS? He's not really the handy man type, but he's smart & figures things out.
So we drain the toilet, get it off, and the wax seal is almost completely gone. It's really gross. We also notice that under the carpet is... TILE! Who the heck puts carpet over tile?! Okay, not tile, but laminate. Still... whose bright idea was that?
I've been wanting to tile the bathroom for ages. Suddenly we have the opportunity! Off to Lowes we whisk for new tile cuz the old stuff was ugly and kinda gross. We found some beautiful marble/stone looking vinyl flooring. Our little leak has turned into a weekend project. Hence the Subways. Honestly, we just want to get to attacking the bathroom, so Subways was fast and not entirely disgusting.. I'm excited! It's gonna be beautiful. We bought paint for it last year, cuz I wanted something fresh & new, but never got around to using it. Now we're gonna knock it out of the park! WOOHOO!

Fresh paint, beautiful HYGIENIC flooring, and a brand new toilet! Come summer we can ACCESSORIZE! Oh and eventually I want to get a new sink, countertop, and hardware for cupboards. I saw some marvelous all-in-one countertop/basins at Lowes that I wouldn't mind putting in. Very pretty stone/marble type set ups.

    EDIT:
    Picture of the tile here:

    http://www.lowes.com/ProductDisplay?partNumber=234281-79508-11813&langId=-1&storeId=10151&productId=1065381&catalogId=10051&cmRelshp=sim

It's lighter in person. On the buff/unbleached titanium side. It will look really nice with the paint. I can't wait! It should look really good with the carpet in the hall, the paint, and we'll try to get a paint trim to match the white in the tile.

Welcome Red! Sounds like life is busy there--keep working on the calories! I lost 10 lbs originally without exercise using this site. So it can be done. I am trying to work out more to "reloose" some of those lbs since I gained them back(ARG).

Trish--I am so with you on the bathroom. Love it when my man does those jobs too! Hope it gets done quicker than mine has!

Stacey--we are glad you are here for the accountability even if you feel your progress isn't huge. It still counts that you are paying attention & know you will go back to it soon.

Well our incredibly long day has ended and ended well. My family was well enough to travel to Kansas City today for their competition and out of the 19 teams that were there my kids teams were #3, #7, & #16. YEAH!!! Bittersweet for my oldest as it was his last competition because he's a senior--he did great but last times are always a little sad.

I have no idea how I did on calories--truly don't care. We were up before 6 so I am going to bed. Have a great Sunday everyone!

congratulations kim! your kids did great!
and trish, i like the tile/vinyl. it's pretty. our bathroom is cream and as much as i like color in other rooms, i like MY bathroom to be creamy/dreamy/spa like. have fun with your new project!

like red, not much exercise here today either. just dancing with kids tonight (did work up a sweat) to joe cocker. they actually liked him! it was fun. btw--i can still do cartwheels!

much of animal day was fun but it was A LOT more work for me than i anticipated. and boy had the attn span of a gnat today. he kept wanting to move on b4 any one thing was finished. (and he stole the glue AGAIN and POURED it all over the top level of his garage and stuck a truck in it! just waiting for it to dry so i can peel the glob off)

besides the dancing, know what i was most proud about? that we didn't watch an animal movie today/2nt. that was to be my "filler" activity and in the end we didn't need it. they didn't even ask for it!
    for us, that's a big achievement. :)

so that abt sums up our day. hope you all have a restful sunday.

Keep to 1400 cals max (not net)

I know many of you take today off as it is your Sabbath. I hope it is a day of peace and rest for you.
We don't have chores to do today--but have Sunday school and tutoring. Would like to spend time outside today too.

Just got home from church. People are noticing my weight loss, so that was nice :)

Was going to have a peanut butter sandwich for lunch until we realized... we're out of bread. Having cheesy corn dogs instead. Probably won't be great for me, but I'll enjoy them!

Small bathroom project has turned into major one. Perfectionist hubby decided that current tile in bathroom is too warped, and it would be better to pull everything up, resurface the bare floor, prime it, and then lay tile. Also, all baseboards must come out. Do not argue with man on mission! LOL
So my job today will be to watch Grace while hubs gets started on man work. I hope it goes quickly and uneventfully. Please let there be good floor under tile stuck on ugly old 70s tile! I just want to get to painting so we can lay down pretty, clean, healthy floor!

Potty training is going great. We put a diaper on Grace before church, and she came home dry, sat on potty and went... and went... and went. Ohmigosh! So happy. Our church is 3 hours long, so this is kind of a huge deal that she was dry so long. GOOD BABY!

Hello everyone! I'm a 36 year old SAHM to a 21 month old boy, a geriatric pit bull, a brain damaged manx and a calico with a drool problem. And sometimes a husband too. LOL In all the free time I have (snort) I make security blankets and sell them on Etsy (bewhiskered.etsy.com if you're curious - er, shameless plug, sorry).

I was super skinny up until my last year of college (having no money for food will do that to you) and then shot way up (suddenly having money for food will do that to you). I've been hovering right around 180 for a while and finally decided to do something about it. Hopefully I can shed some of the weight before I get pregnant again. The race is on since we're trying for #2 now!

Other hobbies are photography and horses. You can see my photos (and my horse if you dig around enough) on flickr: flickr.com/photos/wolffepsyche.

And that's probably WAY more than you wanted to know about me. LOL

In the getting healthy arena I just started working with a personal trainer this past Tuesday. The session with her was awesome. She suggested I work out supervised twice a week, and since she doesn't work weekends and I didn't have any other baby free time during the week she sent me to a boot camp with another trainer at the same gym. I did not have fun. The trainer wouldn't make modifications for me and I ended up crying because my knee was hurting so bad. I left feeling rather pathetic and humiliated. Now I'm trying to deal with the fallout from that. I've already sent an email asking the awesome trainer if someone else does a night class I can go to, but it's really shaken my motivation. All I wanted to do when I got home yesterday was cry and eat a dozen Krispy Kremes! So, er. Yeah. That's what I'm dealing with right now.

Hey everyone! Sorry I didn't check in this week. Been so busy...My MIL was here for a visit the day after we returned from SA. We had a wonderful trip, I loved it down there :) We finally have our main bath remodel done, and it's on to the master bath next. We also have lovely carpet in the bath, but at least there is tile around the tub and toilet, but still! YUCK!

Just a quick check in, I gotta run, but I did read through everyone's posts! I'll try to get in here tomorrow afternoon to catch up with ya some more :)

welcome, wolffe! Does the gym have child care? Do you have any neighbors that could watch the baby? I just take my 20 month old to the daycare at the gym, do my thing, then pick up very happy little person an hour or so later. There's got to be a way for you to utilize that trainer you love so much!
  • Hi Everyone,

    Red- Welcome
Wolffe- Welcome and don't let someone else's bad attitude and lack of compassion deter you. You resisted binging on Krispy Kremes b/c you are strong. That means you are strong enough to lose the weight you want in the best way for you. I hope the trainer can help you find someone who fits your style a little better.
Stacy- We're all glad you pop in and give us all encouragement so even if you aren't "on the wagon" thanks for not leaving us
    Nicole- Chickens! I'm so jealous.
Trish - WTG on the bathroom. That sounds like a fun project and wtg on potty training the baby! Fun stuff.
Kim- Congrats on the competition! Sounds like a fun weekend. I hope everyone is healthy again.
Everyone else- keep up the good work!

I had a good weekend. I visited my mom Friday to Sat and went to a baby shower on Sat. I wore a cute purple shirt that I wouldn't have worn out of the house if you paid me 2 months ago! It felt good and I got lots of compliments. I hadn't seen most of the people at the shower since christmas so they could see the difference!

Didn't get a workout in yesterday or today but have stayed under cal (so far!) I felt like I had gained so I checked the wii scale this morning and had lost another lb!!!! That was a sweet surprise

Did any of you see the documentary Food Inc? It was interesting. I watched it last night. I had a lot to do w/ big money monopolies controlling the farms and food safety etc. I find that stuff interesting. I wish I could afford to go all organic. We've made some major changes over the last 5 years for sure but this movie got me thinking even more...
Looking forward to hitting the gym tomorrow. Two day off has felt like such a long break!
    Have a blessed evening everyone!

    http://www.rockingranola.com/2010/03/multiplication-clock.html

i'm doing ok on my water 1/2way there.
and am going to finish logging my food. i'm over the cals but substantially better than days gone by. also, i logged it all.

    melissa--thanks for the encouragement.

Stacey, awesome multiplication clock! I wish someone was that creative with me at that age. I learned my multiplication tables the good old fashioned hard way-- BRIBERY! My grandparents would pay for riding lessons if I learned them, hahaha.

Don't feel bad about going over on cals. I ended up going way off of the meal plan today and going way over on everything except calories. I'll be shocked if I check in on my wii tomorrow and haven't gained anything.

Pleasant dreams, ladies. Going to watch a movie with Grace. Can't decide between Spirit or An American Tail
