Garden salad to start, dressing on the side, they will likely have some sort of vinegrette, choose that. Get a petite filet and a double order of steamed broccoli. Skip the potato. Skip the rolls with butter, if you can ( I know they're sooooooo good). Go with water, not soda or booze.

Hi all! I normally have the salmon at TRH.

To help in your healthy choices if you have an android phone there is a free app called Restaurant Nutrition. Not sure if available for iPhone.

I always get the smallest sirloin with steamed veggies and the green beans. I skip the rolls to save calories for a nice draft beer.

You can work it in! :)

Order your steak rare. That is the only advice you need when going to Road House. Enjoying delicious rolls and loaded baked potatoes are a given ;)

    Grilled Chicken, Veggies, Salad

If you get anything else Half it and save for tomorrow

As I mentioned above, they soak their chicken breasts in butter and one runs about 1000-1200 calories. JUST FOR THE CHICKEN!

My husband and I go to Roadhouse about once a week. He's eats whatever he wants, but here is what I do and it's been very successful:

    Main:
    - 8 ounce sirloin (I ask them to leave off the basting sauce)
    2 Sides:
    - House salad with no croutons, cheese or egg
    - House Italian dressing on the side
    - Mixed vegetables (usually broccoli and carrots) and I ask them to leave off the sauce, just plain steamed

    Tips:
    - I do NOT eat the delicious homemade rolls with cinnamon butter!
    - I use about 1-2 tablespoons of the dressing
    - I drink water
    - I eat 10 peanuts while waiting for dinner
    - I take home half the steak for another meal, I love cold steak!

They have been very accommodating at my roadhouse and it's a great high protein meal.

Have fun, their steaks are delicious :)

small 6 oz steak, veggies, and plain sweet potato. Yummy and the perfect plate. Either have them not bring the bread or try hard to have just 1 piece. Delish. and plan a walk or a workout for later

Their Steak Kabobs are REALLY good and very low cal!!!! I think you get 2, and it's under 200 calories. They serve it over a bed of rice, 1/2 a cup of their rice is about 100 calories, but you could always ask for a different side like salad or veggies.

I did this last Friday. Had the salad with no cheese and low fat Ranch (on the side), the steak kabobs and asked for veggies instead of rice. They brought me the kabobs on rice anyway, but i refrained from eating it. Their rice isn't that good anyway. Have a great meal though!

when i go, i get the salmon cooked with no oil or sauce, and my sides are steamed broccoli and grean beans. and if im feeling feisty, ill get a skewer of the shrimp, also cooked with no oil or butter sauce. I dont eat any of the rolls either.

Look up some of their foods on here to see their nutrition information. you will be shocked on how much junk these meals have in them

Last time I went I had an 8 oz steak, saved half for a salad the next day, veggies and sweet potato. And I still had enough to order the light/skinny/whatever they call it margarita.

This is what I do when I go out to eat and know where I'm going. Look up the menu and nutritional information. Go ahead and pick out what you want on the menu. Plug in the calories for your dinner then see if you a) need to do an extra workout today, b) if you need to get a take out box at the beginning of the meal and pack away half of your dinner as soon as it comes, or c) both.

Remember, this is a lifestyle so you can have everything in moderation. Enjoy yourself!

I like the 6 oz sirloin with baked sweet potato and salad (no croutons) with french dressing. I'll usually eat one roll and have water to drink. This is usually around 800ish calories.
