My Birthday is Saturday and I had the same question. My answer originally: angel food cake, but I'm gonna go further and have banana cake cupcakes instead. No matter your decision, just ENJOY IT !!! And Happy Birthday!0

I'm afraid I am a believer in delish high calorie cake... and I know you said that you didn't want to "make" a cake, but if all else fails:
If you make this and cut into 20 pieces, 345 calories per piece. (Although that is without icing) It would be nice with yoghurt.
Ingredients
• 420g (2 cups) castor sugar
• 315ml (1¼ cups) salad oil
• 10ml (2 tsp) pure vanilla essence
• 2 tsp finely grated lemon rind
• 3 eggs (lightly beaten)
• 270g (2 cups) carrots (peeled and grated)
• 195g (1 cup) apple (peeled and grated)
• 50g (1 cup) unsweetened crushed pineapple (drained)
• 65mls (¼ cup) pineapple juice (juice from crushed pineapple)
• 40g (½ cup) desiccated coconut
• 420g (3 cups) flour
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• 2 tsp baking soda
• ½ tsp salt
•
Method
•Preheat oven to 170°C. Spray a 25cm ring tin with a depth of at least 7.5cm.
•In a large bowl with hand whisk, whisk together sugar, oil, vanilla and lemon rind. (Do not use an electric mixer because you will create too much air).
•Add eggs and mix well. Stir in carrot, apple, pineapple, pineapple juice and coconut.
•Sift dry ingredients, add to bowl and gently fold in.
•Pour batter into prepared tin and bake for approx. 1 hour or until a cake skewer inserted comes out clean, and the cake bounces back when you prod it.
•Allow cake to cool in the tin for 10 minutes, then remove cake from a tin to a cooling rack to cool completely.0 -
On my birthday, this past August, I woke up, burned over 1200 calories, and ate any d*** thing I wanted! :glasses:0

Cake pops! Easy to control yourself since there's a limited number... one for each person0
-
Have any cake you like, but do enough exercise to offset the cake BEFORE your birthday. It will taste a lot better if you know that you earned it.0

CHEESECAKE!
I don't know what the question was, but the answer is always cheesecake.0 -
I love carrot cake.... Not sure the nutrients, probably not low in calories...but carrots, raisins, and nuts are good, right?0

Do it up, it's YOUR birthday. Honestly, it's ok to treat yourself. It's just other people's birthdays and other silly events that you should be more cautious about. If you go to every party and say, "I'll just have a little cake," it will eventually spiral out of control, but if once a year or so you indulge it is OK!0

My husband doesn't like cake much and has a summer birthday. We cut a watermelon in half and used that. We put candles in it and everything! It was actually a big hit at the party since it was so warm outside.
Cheesecake can be done for low calories, and is simple to make (but you WOULD have to make it yourself). 1 brick creamcheese, 1 tub whipped topping, splenda and vanilla to taste. Fold together and put in a grahm cracker crust and set in the fridge for at least 1 hour. Strawberries, a drizzle of chocolate, or nothing at all on top.
Angel food cake with whipped topping and fruit0 -
you only get one birthday a year. EAT TILL U CANT MOVE

Eat healthy the surrounding days, keep working out... and eat the dang cake. Make whatever cake you want - or just buy it if you don't want to make it.
It is ok to have a slice of cake if you continue to eat healthy otherwise.
And Happy Birthday.
This is my plan! My birthday is on the 18th! Happy birthday to you!!!!!0 -
any cake mix + diet soda (I recommend chocolate with diet dr pepper)
or
any cake mix + canned pure pumpkin.
still has the sugar and carbs, but a lot lower in fat and calories0 -
Someone I work with gave me part of a chocolate cake...I did have a fork full, just a small bite...it actually was very delicious...my food for my birthday tho' was free from Schlotzky's and IHOP via coupons from them... not a huge sweet eater anyway...love my carbs other ways.
Happy Birthday and enjoy whatever you decide to do... :flowerforyou:0 -
Yeah, *reward* yourself with all the cake you can eat (even if it's one day each year)...
...because treating food as a reward has served so many so well.
=\0 -
Oh come on! It's your birthday! We should ALL have cake! :drinker:0

My birthday is also Sat. I am waiting to see what happens in regards to the cake. My mother or my daughter have made a cake for me the last few years but they both know I am trying to lose weight. My daughter gave me my present today so I know she is thinking about it. If I don't have a cake that will be fine. If I do have a cake, I plan on eating a healthy sized serving and limiting it to that one slice - no seconds over the next couple of days - but REALLY enjoying that slice!
Happy Birthday!0 -
Nevermind. Turns out I didn't read the post either. I fail.0

BUT she did give a good tip on replacing oil in a cake mix with greek yogurt. & she gave some hungry girl link, where the girl tested replacements for oil and that was the best one.0 -
Personally, I think you should go to your local bakery (or grocery store) and buy a single slice of fantastic cake. Just make allowances for it in your daily numbers and enjoy your celebration.0
-
When I do cake for my birthday, I have actual cake, but I use whole wheat stone ground flour, I replace the oil with apple sauce, and the sugar in the recipe with either honey or stevia. I cuts a lot of calories and fat, yet still tastes fantastic. I might recomment making cupcakes to keep portions in control. Also, to cut back on frosting I'll melt it down and drizzle designs on the cupcakes instead of slopping on lots of frosting.
Edit: I think if you want to buy a cake low in calories, you won't find one. If you don't want anyone, or you to have to make it...you might as well just enjoy whatever you buy at the store.0 -
Eat the cake!!:happy:0

Find the very best cupcake shop in town. Buy yourself two and eat them both. Enjoy your birthday!0

You know, you could just get one of your friends or family members to make you a cake. That'd be a win/win for everyone.0 -
If you were to eat an entire cake every year on your birthday, it wouldn't affect your weight. (provided you ate sensibly the rest of the time)
enjoy your day0 -
I say..your birthday eat the cake!...those cute little snickerdoodle cupcakes looked perfect  May i suggest for friend /family birthdays that you pocket a DELICIOUS fiber one..chocolate fudge brownie!! (providing you like chocolate)..these are heaven for only 90 calories..you wont feel like you have lost out on anything...just alot of calories0

I recently saw that DQ has Blizzard Cupcakes. I coudn't look up the nutritional value and for sure they aren't going to be low cal, low fat or low sugar... BUT they are portion controlled. I thought it seemed like a good idea... hope you have a great birthday!0

I like chocolate on chocolate. It's your birthday.0
