I've lost mine twice now but thankfully it was found both times. I lost it at work and found it within an hour. I lost it at home and it turned up about a month later. Keep looking...you never know!
Note to self: Stop putting off getting wedding ring resized or at least buy a ring guard.0 -
My husband has lost 3 rings in our 17 years of marriage. Im so sorry.0

I have already lost one ring, and almost lost my wedding rings at a high school football game last week. I threw my hands up in the air and my rings went flying off, bounced off of the back of someone sitting in front of me, and bounced back down on the bleachers. Thankfully when I screamed, everone started looking and a lady sitting 3 people down found my engagement ring and my wedding band was right behind the lady whose back they bounced off of. Thank goodness they didn't go under the bleachers.

Can't beat a $20 tungsten ring. I'd suggest treating yourself to something similar rather than a new more expensive ring.0 -
So sorry you lost your band. Been there, done exactly that and it sucked.
Got a new wedding band and a healthier life. On balance a win. But I still miss my original band.0 -
My husband lost his ring for a while and it turns out it was in his gardening glove. Did you wear gloves at all over the weekend?
I hope it turns up - but while having the original is nice, the new ring will still grow to symbolize all that the old ring did. And it will fit!0 -
First, I feel for you. That is a horrible feeling. I lost a diamond out of my band and it felt like I had a hole in my heart.
Secondly, if anyone is not ready to get loose rings sized, a good jeweler can put in a ring guard. It is worth it. Ask any decent local jeweler about having one put in. They are a temporary fix, allowing you to put off sizing until you reach your goal weight.0 -
Wow sorry I hope you find it when you least expect it.0
-
This is exactly what happened to me.... and I haven't found mine yet either.
My wife just laughed, saying I should have had it sized earlier, but the one I was wearing was a backup ring anyhow, due to me being pretty hard on jewelry. So we had the original resized.
Sorry for the loss of that ring, I know what it means!0 -
Heartbroken for you. I have so much sentimental jewellery and that feeling of panic when you think it's gone is horrific.
Still...a NSV is a NSV, so. Big bloody well done!0 -
Oh yes; I had to have mine re-sized when I lost weight...I'm so sorry but congratulations on the weight loss!:happy:0

Thanks for all the support and great replies everyone. I appreciate the encouragement and lulz. We got a replacement last night :-) Didn't have to sleep on the couch. Who knows, maybe the old one will turn up in a sock one day...0

I don't wear mine anymore bc I go to the gym too often and I dont care to remember to take it off and put it back on, etc. bc of the heavy lifting I do, so I am sure if I still wore one and lost it I would be pissed/upset too.0

This was my thought exactly! You still have the wife, and the commitment, and being a wife, I would rather know my hubby was healthy. =0)0
-
To the OP - sorry you lost your ring. When mine was starting to feel loose, I bought a relatively cheap stainless steel band until I had a chance to have my real wedding band resized. Feels really good to have rings sized down instead of up!0

This weekend I was out and about and my wedding band slipped off my finger completely imperceptibly. I looked everywhere, but to no avail, lost and gone.
So, on the one hand, yay! I've lost so much weight that my ring size has changed.
On the other hand, I lost my single most important possession. Being thin doesn't solve every problem.
This made me giggle, sorry! My husband has a similar problem although he hasn't managed to lose his yet (thank god). Keep meaning to get it resized!0 -
My dad once took his off to work on an army tank, put it on a muddy bank then spent an hour in fading light looking for it. Found it but oh dear, it is heartbreaking. My sister and her husband do not even wear theirs, so each to their own.0
-
My wife gave me the approval to put it on my middle finger.0

At the moment mine is tucked safely away in my cufflink box. I see it every day but its too loose to wear at the moment and i'm scared of losing it. Its on my list of things to buy when i get to goal, top of the list is wedding band resize.
I hope it turns up!0 -
My husband lost 45 lbs ...... his wedding band slipped off while on a white-water rafting adventure ...... he saw it flying through the air
And mine needs to be resized ...... maybe in the spring we'll get new ones for our 25th anniversary !0
