Eating a small snack or chewing gum. Chewing gum really helps me!

According to your diary your daily calorie goal is 800. That is ridiculously and dangerously low. If you want to stave off the hunger pains (your body screaming for food) EAT MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

unless your doctor has put you on 800 calories for a specific reason, you seriously need to eat more. That's why you're hungry.

Eating more often and I eat at least 2,000 calories a day. Still managing to burn fat. It's awesome!

you will still lose weight if you eat more than 800cals......you have to be ALIVE to get healthy though and 800 cals isnt enough.

EAT! OMG, dude? What are you doing???
  • you need to do small progressions, I've never felt hungry since I started loosing weight because I was slowly reducing the amount of calories, can't just simply jump from, let's say, 2500 calories to 1000 without being hungry, you body cannot adapt so quickly.

More protein, more fiber, more water. Focus on lean, healthy proteins, and the fat/carbs will take care of themselves - and EAT!!!

How can you claim not to be hungry when the subject of your thread is 'fighting hunger advice'. This is starting to look like some troll bs.

I didn't even look at his diary until just now. Dude, you need more than 800 calories a day unless you doctor has medically advised less which is pretty rare and as a guy, you definitely need more than 30 grams a day of protein. Yes, you will lose weight this way and fast, but when you stop eating this way, you will gain the weight back and then some! Plus, you are going to cause your body systems to start shutting down on you. Please reconsider you goals (unless your doctor has ordered this and he better have some really good reasons!)

Considering the OP only has 40 lbs to lose, I doubt a Dr would put him on an 800 calorie diet. Generally that is saved for someone morbidly obese. So my question is why would eat that little? My 4 yr old niece eats more that that. Doing this will cause your body to catabolize your lean body mass, so at least 50% of the weight loss will be muscle loss.

What I do is eat more.
  • I did not ask for any advice on calories and macro amounts only hunger control. Please keep your opinions to yourself on everything but the topic. Thanks!

You're eating 800 calories a day and asking for advice to control hunger. How is the suggestion to eat more when hungry irrelevant? People just want you to care for your body and succeed long term. Don't see it as a personal attack :). Remember, everyone on here has a similar goal and nobody is out to sabotage you.

Shadow, I avoid hunger pains by eating five times a day. Cereal usually for breakfast, fruit and sometimes nuts a couple of hours later, plus eating a lot of fruits and veggies will help fill you up. But seriously if you are only eating 800 calories a day, you will be hungery and you will most likely binge. Remember if you want to lose weight and keep it off then it is about life style change and healthy, not starving yourself to lose weight temporarily.

Hunger can also be a "rage".. I often am not hungry but raging chips... so I chew on something else.

^^^I'm not sure what this means or how it fits into the equation?!

Bottom line - a grown man eating only 800 calories a day asks for help on fighting hunger. The answer is eat more.

    1. Eat
    2. See a therapist.
