Men, how often do ask your SO to do something...

After they've gotten comfortable...

Seriously, why oh why do women wait until you've got all comfortable and prepared to sit down to do something mindless before they ask you to get up and do something?

Not that often. But she does seem to think that just as I am drifting off to sleep is the perfect opportunity to discuss an issue, instead of when we were both wide awake. :grumble:

I never ask SO to do anything. He's kind of an *kitten*. So I just do it myself.

My wife has learned she can ask me to do something but can not tell me when to do it or how to do it. I will do it on my schedule....when I get up

I just pretend to use the force to get something until my boyfriend gets up and gets it for me. :)

She usually waits to ask when she knows I'm on the computer. I just get up and deal with it...

I asked my husband to get stuff all the time. It doesn't matter what he's doing he goes and gets it or does it. No worries here.

Does your husband have a brother/friend with the same trait around my age?

Before you think about it like that, think about this - how many things do you never find yourself doing because your SO takes care of it? Like, for example, doing the dishes, washing the clothes, etc? I know I am the official dishwasher in my house. I've waited for the dish fairy to come and do them for me (aka my boyfriend) but it rarely happens haha. At the same time, he always changes my oil and does anything like that so it's somewhat even :-) Although, he definitely asks for more "favors," but that's kinda my fault because I can be stubborn and not ask for help.

Yes, gentlemen, how often do you ask your SO what's for dinner and expect her to go get it started? How often do you point out to her that you are getting low on [insert laundry item] and expect her to go wash a load? When the kids ask you a question or ask you to do something for them, do you take care of it or tell them "go ask Mama"? If the baby starts crying or has a smelly diaper, do you take of it or bring it to the attention of your SO? When there is a mess to be cleaned up, do you clean it or leave it for your SO to take care of it?
And what is she doing at the time all this is going on? Nothing important, right?

(I don't b!tc4 when my hubby asks what's for supper while I'm on page 8 of "Rate the Person Above You", and he doesn't b!tc4 if he's reading the news headlines when I point out that the trash is overflowing. )

If it's an imposition to do something for the person you care about, maybe you're with the wrong person. Been married 20 years and I enjoy doing things for my wife and she never hesitates to do for me.

I enjoy making my wife happy. Makes me happy.

My husband and I have a rule not to talk about anything serious after 10:30. I've noticed that both of us take an issue far too seriously and get grouchy if we talk about it while tired. We still break the rule, but we can at least refer to it as a way of telling the other person to shut up if a conversation gets started.

My husband is like that too. He knows I'm on my feet a lot throughout the day with two little ones and a puppy  . I try not to ask him as soon as he gets comfortable, unless I'm being a pain on purpose. But he still does it and laughs about it.
