You look amazing, im heavy lifting at the moment. I follow Chalean Extreme DVDs. I was wondering should I incorporate more cardio, as when I was doing just cardio on its own I saw more difference on the scales, but doing lifting I have seen more results in body shape. You say you did no cardio at all?

    Thanks!

No I didn't do any cardio, I do walk quite a bit as I don't drive, but that isn't really anything.
I think cardio has its place but a little too much emphasis is put on it. It will do exactly what a calorie deficit does. It will make you look the same, but take up less space. If you want to actually streamline/change your shape weights are where it's at IMHO

that being said, cardio is wonderful for heart health and great for people that need to lose a lot of mass. I just feel its a little overrated.

Good job on transforming skinny fat into fit!

Too many of us, guys and gals, get to low weights and then still see "fat" and think we gotta lose more... turns out nope! Some extra muscle goes a LONG way in making things look much better!

that's truly amazing!! I want to do weights .. have NOT a clue what to do. I can't afford a trainer .. so I'm a bit concerned about what, how, etc..

My son had a personal trainer.. not sure if he wants "mom" to hang out with him at the gym lifting weights (giggles)

That is an amazing Transformation! I would like to lift weights, i'm not on here to loose weight; i want to tone myself (midsection mainly) and just watch what i eat. Maybe i should talk to my doctor about it.....

    Thanks,

I couldn't afford a regular PT either, however a lot of gyms have a free consultation session on offer, you could try that and ask the trainer to show you some basic lifts.

If not, try studying some videos online :)

I've been thinking about it, i just don't know if it's something that i can do. I'll look into it at my next Doctors Appointment next week. It seems like i've plateaued on toning via Cardio/Some Ab Exercises.

  • You look HOT! How big of a change did you make to your diet? Drastic change of eating habits or is this mostly attributed to lifting?

    Thanks everybody!
I made some small changes to my diet, cutting down on alcohol, eating very frequently (at least 6 times a day) and eating more protein, but I always had a relatively healthy diet anyway. I ate at maintenance the whole time so this was done with a very small exercise deficit (approx >100 cals a day)

Anyone is welcome to add me and view my diary if you're interested in my nutrition
