    Ewwww. Pretty woman?

When you take away his man card tell him to put on something pretty and make you a sammich

I would have, but he really is lacking on his sammich making skills.... he uses Miracle Whip instead of mayo :noway:

    That's a travesty among sammiches!

Bwwwaaaahaaahaaahaa!!! That's funny!! Made my day! :)
  • I see nothing wrong with that? I don't know, traditional "masculinity" or whatever is just so stupid to me. Why can't people like what they like without worrying about whether people will think them less of a "man" or not? I don't get it at all.

(Besides, I think it's better than some dudes who won't even go near a movie because they think that it's "girly" or whatever. I had a guy tell me yesterday that he wouldn't see Les Mis because he wasn't into girly movies like that. I was like "Ummm. How is Les Mis girly? THERE ARE GUNS AND EXPLOSIONS AND EVERYBODY DIES AND NOBODY IS HAPPY. But apparently, musicals are "girly". It's pathetic for people to be so closed-minded that they won't even experience something that they deem not masculine enough for them.)

Matter of opinion... just like you expressed your opinion that people should be allowed to like what they want.

The OP was picking on her husband... do you honestly think she cares that he enjoys watching chick flicks? Think about it.

I know it's just a joke, I'm aware, I'm really not that dense, it's just that jokes like that aren't funny to me. It's up the same alley as people joking about women needing to be in the kitchen and making sandwiches. Offensive, but put into a joke, so suddenly it's okay. But joking about that kind of stuff is still kind of offensive? I know I'm being overly-sensitive-feminist-and-social-justice-blah-blah-blah right now, but I think a lot of people say things without realize how gross it is. I'm just trying to point out that they are being a little bit more offensive than they've probably intended. Y'know? I can't help myself, I really am overly sensitive.

I just said why I bothered to post. And I'm sure I would not be the only person to find this mildly offensive.
And I wasn't rude about anything so I don't really understand why you're being rude to me. I didn't mean for this to turn into a big deal. I was simply pointing out that people can like what they like and they shouldn't be ridiculed for it. That's all. The end. No T no shade.

I'm not quite sure how you think that I was rude to you. I commented on your post that she was joking. You assumed that I was calling you "dense" which I did not. Then, I stated that if the post bothered you, then you didn't have to post here and wished you a nice day. Not quite sure when I was rude. But if you don't want to make a big deal about it, then move on.

I understand where you are coming from - this is in jest to a prior forum post about a wife complaining about her husband watching porn. Basic consensus was that there was nothing wrong with it. This was going in the same direction but with the joke already "implied." No ones intention to offend.

A fellow MFPer and I play a drinking game for that one - every time Kristen Stewart looks constipated - you drink. Makes the movie bearable and you're drunk before the opening credits.

I dunno, you asked me why I bothered to post... upon reading that, it felt like it was said in a rude way. If you weren't being rude, then I apologize for assuming that you were being rude. (I also didn't think you called me dense, I was just saying that I wasn't dense.) I don't want to make a big deal about it, so I think I'm gonna stop posting now.

Sorry for cluttering your thread with my silly opinions, OP. I'm really not an a-hole, I swear :)
