These were taken in 2004, my son was a year old. Next is me last year in 2009. Next set of pictures is my husband and I in 2004, then us again in 2009. Would you believe we're 5 years older in the after? Crazy how a little weight can make such a difference!

So gorgeous. How long did it take you to lose 15lbs?
  • Wow you look great! So toned now! Even when I was under 120lbs I never looked toned and still felt "fat". What's your routine?

    Thanks all!

It took me 4 good months of solid diet/workout to lose 15 pounds and firm up...no cheating at all. (I wanted to post last year's pics to show how long I've kept it off).

    - I did 45 mins of pilates 3x a week. (I do hot yoga now on occasion instead)
    - I did 20-30 mins on the elliptical 6x a week. (Still do, but maybe 4x a week now, and I alternate between elliptical, stair climber and elliptical. Basically I do 120 minutes of cardio a week, whatever it might be)
    - I also did weight training 5x a week (light weights, high reps). (Still do, but a little heavier weights and less reps. I definitely believe in circuit training or supersets because it keeps your heart rate going and you can finish more in less time).
    - Kept my diet to 1000-1200 calories per day, and all natural foods...lower carb, higher protein and fiber

Sometimes now I add in a DVD 1-2x a week, I like Gilad. I cannot do those heavy duty P90x things, I don't like erratic workouts, I like to maintain a fat burning heartrate for a solid 45-60 minutes thus the elliptical/treadmill and circuit training all mixed together.

As for "lifted", well I had one thing lifted and that was due to breastfeeding 2 children for a year each. ;) Everything else I did through exercise and diet though. Of course I was tired then, I had 2 children under 3. I feel much better now that I sleep well. ;)

Any other questions please feel free to ask!

You look AMAZING! I have one question though, when you were counting 1000-1200 calories did you add an additional 300-500 calories for breastfeeding? I am currently breastfeeding my son and I am noticing if anything that it is causing me to hold on to my last 10 pounds. So depending on how my supply is should I gradually decrease my caloric intake? Thanks in advance:flowerforyou:

    Thanks again all.

Rachel - I started my rigerous dieting after I stopped breastfeeding my kids. I also found the pounds hung on me while I was. Once I was done though, the weight started dropping off. So don't fear! Definitely keep the 300-500 extra calories while you're bf-ing. The most important thing is the healthy fat babies! :)
