The "B" stomach.

After reading a thread from much earlier last year about women with "B" shaped stomachs, It suddenly dawned on me that I am one of those lucky people who have it (SARCASM!)
I decided to start a new thread in hopes that people who have this same issue can comment on their experience (whether it be finally getting rid of it, or not being able to, etc) So that this topic isn't lost forever I know there are more of you out there who have this, so lets support and inform each other!

Please explain what is a B stomach.0

I am assuming a B stomach is like mine and after baby belly that resembles a B on it's side, if this is the case then I have a slight one. After five children my sister had a tummy tuck to rid her of hers but I'm convinced mine isn't that bad and I think some serious core and ab workouts should tone and flatten it ! That's my hope, I'll let you know how I get on x2

She's right! A"B" stomach is when you have a stomach shaped as a "B" or "b" . as if a rope is typing in your midsection, and the pudge is all around the rope, sticking out.
In my case, I can remember having one since 4th grade. I was always a bit pudgey, so I'm not sure how it'll look when i've thinned out0 -
I have an uppercase B LOL!!!! I am trying to get rid of mine by logging what I eat and working out.... I have started Dancing and I can really feel the muscles in my tunny now! (The ones I thought were gone forever!)1

Ew I think I have one too. I hate that letter now!!!!!!2

i want to change to an I. An I is flat right?
do you think eating alphabet soup would help? :flowerforyou:2 -
I've just thought of a new catchy name for a workout DVD:
From Bs to ABs.
Now all I have to do is make sure that more than 2 people on an entire forum know what a B is. :ohwell:1 -
Unfortunately, there is no part of my stomach that looks like it's being pulled in. I guess I have a D stomach.3

I have a lower case b... lol The pooch. I need muscles, though so, that might help mine0

LOL!!!! I SO have the "B" stomach..and thank you..I never realized it UNTIL NOW!! I have had some sort of the B stomach all my life. There was at one time in my life, where it was more of a b instead of a B...having big hips doesn't help none! And having my 4 kids...DEF didn't help any! Sigh..hoping to lose it..thought about a tummy tuck when I get down to the size I want....but not sure I want to put myself thru that much pain...1

I would rather have a Day than a B. But I'd really LOVE to have an I!0 -

Mine is going away! It is slow going, but it IS going....
the left is several years ago, and I went on to gain another 30# before beginning to lose. The right is several months ago after losing that 30#

I finally know what to call that flab I have around my mid-section. I always thought I was the only one! I'm very interested to hear if anyone has gotten rid of it!!0

Hate this sad reality. Even if I lose significant weight, my "figure" will still be a droopy something....0
-
aaahh yes...the B belly. I have one..uuugghhh. It really does look like I have a rope around my midddle squeezing very tightly. Is that "dent" suppose to be my natural waist?0

the answer is PLANKS! I hate to do them..but it works the best...better than a million crunches and situps....
You lay on the floor face down...amrs under you, like a little kid watching tv with your face in your hands...you know Up on your elbos...
then straiten out your whole body and get up on your toes..so, nothing is touching the floor between your elbos and your toes..(take your face off your hands) your back and legs should be strait as a plank..hold for 10 seconds and work your way up the time till you can hold for a minute..you will not be able to do it for about 2 weeks if you do this every day!!! its sucksss. but it will tighten all the muscles in your lower back, and your sides...it will hurt your legs first, as we try to ease our pain in our strongest muscles..then you will try to arch your back...that is the exercise...DONT DO IT...IT WILL BE EASIER AFTER YOU CONQUER 20 SECONDS...Im 44 and have to lose 45 lbs. just started here....the first rule of fat on the belly.1. YOU DONT LOSE FAT FROM SITUPS OR ANY WORKOUT, YOU GAIN MUSCLE UNDER THE FAT. THE ONLY THING TO LOSE THE FAT IS TO NOT EAT FAT!!
That is my downfall....so help keep me away from fats! Thanks everyone.1 -
Fellow B tummy here! I kind of always thought it was just from wearing too tight pants & my stomach grew over & under the waistband. Never occurred to me that it was normal. LOL!1
-
i avoid tying my robe and therefore refuse to admit that i too, have a B stomach0

While planks are an awesome way to gain strength in your midsection (and other supporting areas), I cannot stress enough that a flat stomach is made in the KITCHEN! And you absolutely need fats in order to survive - but the good fats that are found in nuts, avocadoes, olives, etc., not the ones in french fries, potato chips, and burgers!3 -
Ha - so that's what it's called. Yep, I have a B stomach. My husband has a D stomach and I sometimes wonder why our fat distributes itself so differently.0
-
Your correct about the good fats...I was being to general when I said the fats...your right, you save money in the kitchen and you stay slim in the kitchen with the right fats....this is what I am loving about this new tool, mfp, support!!! If there are any other snack tips, keep them coming...1
-
I'm so glad I'm not alone  and it's so true, beautiful tummies are made in the kitchen, not from situps!
We're all praying for the mystical "I" stomach too I see! LOL.
Keep working hard everyone! B's to I's! (wouldn't that confuse everyone on the forums? ha)0
