Your story sounds all too familiar. Keep your head high and know that you just instantly inherited a very LARGE online family willing to encourage you and help you every step of the way. Feel free to add me as a friend. I don't know where you're from, but if we're in the same area you're welcomed to be a workout buddy.0

I know how you feel. I am 65 years old and I weigh more now than I have in my whole life. Because I eat too much of bad things. So I am with you in this endeavor too to loose weight for me to be healthy and get my energy back. My daughter lost 50 lbs doing this do I am going to give it a try too. Good luck and keep me posted how you are doing and I will too.0

Congratulations on all you have accomplished today! I too am new here, feel free to add me too. Unfortunately I wear elastic ALOT for my job as a staff nurse, but you have motivated me to stop slipping into the sweats when I'm at home. It's jeans for me now. Thank you!0

You can do it!! This site really helps! Everyone on here is great! If you'd like to add me as a friend go ahead!0

Add me -- I'm new too and have gained quite a bit of weight also.
I joined this site a while ago and then got caught up in life -- I am back determined to make a change!!!
Could also use all the support I can get.0 -
You have found your turning point. That's big.
I lost nearly this much (50pounds) weight two years ago and gained it all back when we hit a stress bump (my husbands employer went on vacation then came back and announced bankrupsy leaving us 20,000 underpaid)
You reach a point that you wake up and stop punishing yourself and decide your health is important to you and you deserve to focus on yourself. (you want your children to learn this too, from you)
So congratulation, I feel you will go far.0 -
You can do it! We all get in slumps some times, I joined this as well to get out of mine! The important part is, is that you have decided to make a change in your life! You deserve happiness, stay positive!0

Good luck! You can do it, eating healthier will help your depression too. Putting better things inside your body will make you feel better inside and out.0

I understand the frustration! Heck, I've lost 100 lbs (25lbs on 4 separate occasions) - LOL - but this time is the last...getting too old for this yo-yo!0

Same thing happened to me when I was out of work except my wardrobe enemy was pajama pants :noway:0

Nothing wrong with sweats!!! I wear them ALL the time.

You've taken the first step!! For me having friends on here has been essential every time I've been on here.... If you want to lose and really put your mind to it you can do anything!! Good Luck and anyone can feel free to add me, we all need support!!0

Absolutey get rid. Elastic is not your friend. Getting dressed in real clothes every day is a huge motivator to get moving, too.
And lace-up shoes! Real clothes and lace-up shoes!
Congrats on getting off the couch and getting your reality check. It's tough to swallow, but everyone has a starting point. It only gets better from here.0 -
Jeans really do look so much better than sweats, and dark jeans are slimming. I have a pair of jeans that gets compliments (as in, "You're getting so much slimmer!") whenever I wear them. I kind of want to go buy five more pairs.
Congratulations on passing the snacks and sweets. Don't forget, though - it's okay to have an occasional treat. One donut isn't great for you, but it's also not going to put any weight back on you. I try to have one treat every few days, even if it's just a mini chocolate bar or a sliver of cheesecake. I find that if I don't do that, I give into a binge.0 -
Good Luck, MFP is great I have been using it for 18 months to track my food, but I have decided now to start using the community section too now as sometimes everyone needs a bit of advice, support & encouragement.
Feel free to add me.0
