Other people's calorie intake is meaningless. I say this in a very respectful way though. I understand why you ask but it really shouldn't effect what your eating. We are all individuals and what one person loses at may be different for you due to activity levels. body composition etc. Work out your TDEE and minus 15-20 % to have a small deficit, this should lead to a sustainable steady rate of fat loss. 1200 cals a day isn't the magic number. It's just that...a number. Good luck with your weight loss x
  • I'm about 5'5, I weight 58kg and my body fat is 28%. I'm working towards getting both those numbers down. I aim to eat 1200 a day however I also try to eat intuitively so if I eat more than that (or less, which is unlikely) that's fine. My biggest thing is restriction followed my bingeing and guilt so my main priority is to overcome that which will hopefully lead to a little weight loss.
  • my calorie goal is 1200 and I do try to remain under it..though many times I do tend to eat 200-300 calories extra. I weigh 120 lbs and my height is 5'3" by the way...you should eat according to your weight and height...

I net 1400 calories but eat about 1700-1800 with exercise and am losing the pesky last 5 pounds. I'm going to up my net calories to 1500 soon because I'm close to my goal and I would like to figure out where maintenance is (my TDEE is supposed to be a little over 1700). I'm about 118lbs now seeking 115 my BF last I checked was 22.9%

  • I generally try to keep it at around 1200 but on some days I'll think I'm eating quite healthy and will even feel full, but I've barely gotten 700-900, which is pretty unhealthy! I don't exercise a ton but on days when I do its about 20 minutes of running and then strength training such as sit ups, push ups, tricep dips, and squats. Even on bad days, it's usually not over 1300 for me

1200 was WAY too low for me. I started at 155lbs eating 1200 and couldn't do it. I've been eating between 1600-1800 plus my exercise calories back and losing inches/pounds.

Lately, I've been right around 1,600 a day.

I'm 5'4, currently weigh 140 and am a size 4. I eat around 1800 calories a day, and workout 600-800 calories a day. I am losing weight very slowly, but have lost so many inches. I use to be a size 12 when I was only 13 lbs heavier.

I am 5'5 and my calories are currently set at 1480. I sit at a desk all day long and I don't do much in terms of exercise. I am working on that part. Anyway. I started this journey in July at 209 pounds and I am now at 188 pounds. Some days I go over. Some days I am way under. It is working for me though. And I am enjoying it. I never thought weight loss could be so easy. Every time I heard the word DIET I would cringe. This is so much more than just a diet to me.
  • I'm 142 lbs now (whoop, whoop). I TRY to eat around 1300 calories a day. I'm lightly active; no "arranged exercise". As of today, I've lost 99 lbs!!!!!!! According to my BMR, I should eat more. But I can't. If that makes any sense. For me, I need to eat the "healthy food" -fruits, veggies, yogurt, etc. I know that everything should be in moderation. However, I know that I can't just have 1 cookie. One cookie will lead to 4. So I eat yogurt instead. LOL Many days, I know my calorie intake is too low, but I feel fine and I'm losing weight. So I'm going with it.
