You got to be joking right? Go ahead and have one every day, and you can tell us if you didn't gain any weight.
Your body will use up 53-61 grams of protein and 23-32 grams of fat in one meal? I don't believe it sorry.0 -
I looked at the KFC nutrition info on the website. I seem to be having a problem understanding this.

The orginal DD is 540 calories with 53 grams of protein.
The grilled DD is 460 calories with 61 grams of protein.
Why is there 8 grams of protein between the two - Oh I see. :noway: They list the serving size in grams.
Original DD is 241 grams. Grilled DD is 253 grams.
Fat
Grilled DD is 210 calories from fat and states there's 23 grams of fat.
Original DD is 290 calories from fat and states there's 32 grams of fat.
Both only show 9-10 grams of Saturated fat, and the Orginal has .5 grams trans fat.
There's 13-22 grams of fat missing on their nutrition chart.
Anybody have any ideas? and why KFC wouldn't post this extra missing fat and what kind of fat?0 -
My husband and I saw the commercial for it the other night. As always when we see certain commercials, we have to give the company some applause. In the face of health food nazis and the eating healthy trend, Hardees and KFC are giving the health food kick the proverbial finger. Forget apple fries and salads. Come to our restaurant and eat the way you really want to. LOL
Everyone knows fast food is bad for you. And many people still eat it. It's a personal choice. We just love the fact that some companies just wallow in the badness and make it seem good.0 -
Here's is something interesting to consider about this chicken thing.... As it has no bread/carbs you will not gain weight from eating it as your body can only store fat if insulin is released and your body can only realease insulin if you have eaten a carbohydrate. Plus carbohydrate is easier fro your body to use so your body will use it over fat then store the fat, so...If you eat a regular burger with a bread bun, your body will use the bun, produce insulin and store the fat (cheese, beef etc) BUT if you eat the bunless chicken thing, your body will use it all!

If that were true, then Atkins himself wouldn't have been obese.

Atkin's doesn't work because it is a very low carb diet, where as the Harcombe diet is both equal ammounts of fats and carbohydates.0 -

Fried stuff has tore up my stomach since I've started eating healthier (at least the one time I ate somethiing fried this month did) and I get to feeling sick when I have too much dairy, so with the friedness and super amounts of cheese I'd probably have to call in sick to work if I ate this.0 -
I took one look at this and thought it was disgusting! Gross! And people wonder why they are obese! Jeez. Build it and they will come... Sooo stupid. I don't see any healthy fast food restaurants. Where they at?0

Here is a healthier version of the KFC Double Down from HUNGRY GIRL...
Start with two 3-oz. raw boneless skinless lean chicken breast cutlets, pounded to 1/2-inch thickness. Grind up 1/2 cup original Fiber One cereal in a blender or food processor, and season to taste with some chicken grill seasoning. Dip your cutlets in fat-free egg substitute, and then coat 'em in the seasoned cereal crumbs. Cook over medium-high heat in a skillet sprayed with nonstick spray until done (about 4 minutes per side). Meanwhile, mix up some fat-free mayo with a little ketchup, Dijon mustard, and a dash of cayenne pepper; that's your sauce. Cook up a slice of extra-lean turkey bacon (or thinly sliced center-cut bacon), and break it in half. Now spread a little sauce on top of those faux-fried chicken cutlets, and top one with a half-slice of reduced-fat Jack cheese. Put the bacon over that, followed by the other half-slice of cheese. Put the other cutlet on top with the sauced-side down. Heat the whole thing in the skillet, pressing down with a spatula, until the cheese melts. Mmmmm!
Your swap will have around 340 calories, 8g fat, and 14g fiber. For a "grilled" version, just skip the cereal and egg, and season your chicken directly with the grill mix -- that'll have about 270 calories and 7g fat.0 -

If you aren't afraid of REAL meat, this double down is for you. Unlike the KFC version which is loaded with sugary sauce and Godknowswhat kind of vegetable oil crap and franken-breading...
The concept is beautiful, by the way - thin halves of grilled chicken, bit of cheese, bacon, maybe a bit of stone-ground mustard and pickles. I'm sure it's more calorically dense than any "diet" versions, but it's wonderful, REAL, whole foods. Low in carbohydrate, a good source of protein and fat.
In fact, I may make it for dinner tonight and I'll report back.0 -
does not look very apppetizing. its not even a complete meal. just meat and cheese? it seems pretty dumb to call that a sandwich in my opinion.
For a lot of us, meat and cheese is a complete meal. I wouldn't do the fried one, but the grill chicken with mayonnaise, cheese and bacon is right up my low carb alley............As long as there is no added sugar to any or the items.0 -

Thank You for this input as it is absolutely correct. And the fat is converted into energy so there fore there are no needs for carbohydrates.0
