what do you do with your whey protein powder?

Hi everyone! So today I bought chocolate whey protein powder for the first time and I was wondering what you guys do with it, I mean the back of the container says to mix with water, but i think i may try mixing with skim milk, sounds more appealing to me. I've also heard of people putting it in oatmeal and other things. What do you guys do with it? I need some ideas!!!

also please feel free to add me! i love the support everyone gives each other on here!

I make a fruit smoothy for breakfast every morning.
1 cup unsweetened almond milk (40 calories)
1 cup berries (strawberries, raspberries and blueberries)
    1 scoop whey protein powder
    1 Tbsp chia seeds
    1 TBSP flax seeds

I am full until lunch time with this.

I also make a pumpkin smoothy:
same as above except substitute pumpkin for the berries.
add 1 tsp pumpkin pie seasoning and
    1 tsp of cinnamon.

You can add it to pancakes or Any baked good to add protein. You can put it in a blender and add berries and soya milk, skim or almond milk. Add to yougurt for yout calcium. I also like it in coconut water. Protein gives you satiate (fullness) the straight wheys are good to mix in juice or anything to give you the protein and keep you full.
  • I mix mine with almond milk making a great 160 calorie breakfast. I also have a piece of oatmeal bread with apple butter

2 favorites. i. mix chocolate potein in plain yogurt. 2. mix w/ 1 egg white, packet of artificial sweetner, and enough water to make a thick batter, microwave for 30 seconds or so, and you have a protein cookie.

It tastes good in water, and in milk too. After i lift i usually make in in a blender with milk, ice cubes, 1 banana, whole rolled oats, sometimes spinach (can't even taste it) or peanut butter.... You can add greek yogurt, honey, flax, pretty much anything and it will taste good:)

I have mized it in my oatmeal, it's not bad. And if you mix choclate into vanilla greek yogurt it tastes like dirt cake! Protein pancakes...uhmmmmm...... Thats all i can think of now, ha.

I use tap water, the hard stuff.

I also throw in a little bit of ice. Pretty underwhelming but it works for me......

I just mix it with water and drink it. If I wanted it to be delicious, I would have drank something else...like chocolate milk

Chocolate Peanut Butter Body Fortress sold at Walmart isn't bad at all.

Normally I eat my breakfast first....be it oatmeal days or eggs and turkey bacon mornings...let that sit for about 10-15 minutes

then I down my morning protein shake.....helps to top off that final bit and finally trigger your stomach full signals better than if you mixed it directly with your food.

If you want to find something that you can blend with berries and make smoothies and things like that...go for a higher quality tasting Ready To Drink whey like Muscle Milk. Powdered stuff sucks period no matter what you mix it with...

I usually use Vanilla Muscle Milk RTD blended with berries for smoothies or I pour that smoothie mix into my ice cream maker and make ice cream from it...

Protein count wise, its really pointless to mix powdered stuff with milk. All you are doing is adding extra calories...you're already getting a max amount of processable protein if you do a normal 2 scoop that is about 56 grams on average..
  • 2% milk to squeeze in some extra protein and fat.
  • I tried it for the first time this morning. Mixed it with Silk Almond Milk Vanilla Cream..It was the Bomb.Com, tasted like melted ice cream..mmmm! Plus together they were only 180 Cals per serving.
  • Peanut butter oatmeal whey shake

    1 scoop chocolate whey powder
    2 Tbs creamy peanut butter
    1/4 cup dry oatmeal
    1/2 2% milk
    1/2 cup water
    Ice to your preferance

Mix in blender and enjoy! One serving is about 325 calories so I use it as a breakfast shake usually.

Frozen Fruit or freeze a cut up banana the night before, I dump cold leftover coffee in mine, or use Almond Milk or Coconut milk.

Just click on my food diary. Helps to use two scoops and thicken and flavor with frozen fruit. My opinion.

The best thing I do with my whey protein powder is actually put in a banana and peanut butter, or just the whey protein and peanut butter with some chocolate almond milk and blend it all together. It's so delicious!
