Just wondering if anyone on here has ever tried the Jillan Michaels dvds. I try to exercise everyday and have gotten a few good workouts online, but since I'm not a personal trainer, I have no idea if these workouts will even work for me or whether I'm doing enough each day. Advice would be lovely = ] You can add me as a friend as well, I need some more friends on here haha

I have almost all of her DVDs and I LOVE them. I always lose weight and tone up when I do them consistently. My favorites are 30 Day Shred and Ripped in 30.0

I just watch them on youtube0

I have the Jillian Michaels ripped in 30 and she is great. Week one is fairly easy, the rest is tough. I'd say give her a shot. I also do walk away the pounds. They are both great DVD's. Feel free to add me as a friend and we can motivate each other0

If you have look on the search function, there's loads of threads about 30 day shred in particular, and a little about the rest. Some of them have before and after photos and stuff, so have a wee look through them and I bet you'll be inspired to try them.0

I have the box set of hers. have done 30 day shred but wanted a little more so currently on burn fat boost metabolism which is 40 mins0

I had the same question! I think I'm going to borrow the DVD that targets trouble spots (not sure what its called) but it looks at love handles, upper arms, and thighs maybe? I'm excited and I'll let you know!! I'll add you as a friend I always love adding a new friend!0

Same for me, currently doing the 30 day shred ( On level one) Through youtube0 -
I have Body Revolution and I love it! I am actually in my second round (90 days each round) and I am going to be buying more because I love her workouts so much!0

I have her Ripped in 30 and 30 day shred...I like both--really good for toning, etc. I mix them in with other exercises (running, other dvds) just to keep my body guessing, but I do them at least 1-2/week.0

You can't go wrong with any of her DVD's!0
-
They are all great... some are easier than others. Most people start with 30 Day Shred. Good luck!0

I think I may have just about ALL Jillian Michael's DVD's. I love them and I've seen wonderful results while using them. My favorites are 30 Day Shred, Ripped in 30, Banish Fat Boost Metabolism, No More Trouble Zones, Extreme Shed and Shred, 6 Week 6 Pack, Killer Buns and Thighs, and Killer Abs. I think she has a new one out, and I'm going to check Amazon later today.0

I am literally in love with her. I am doing the Total Body Revolution for the second time right now. I have a lot of her other ones too which are all amazing. Ripped in 30 is awesome! If you wanna just try her out, go on youtube or get a single dvd at target or something (the TBR is kinda expensive). Good luck!!0

Read my profile. Yes, yes and yes.
I lost the fat by reducing calories and eating healthier.
I got ripped because of Jillian.0 -

I did both 30 Day Shred and Ripped in 30. I lost 30 lbs. The DVDs are cheap, around $10 and the work outs are short but effective. I really enjoyed her work outs and for the first time ever I actually have muscle.
Now I am moving on to Insanity.0 -
I have a bunch of her DVDs and love them all. I recommend them for anyone especially since there are modifiers for beginners, so anyone can do them!
I have:
Ripped in 30
Yoga Meltdown
Banish Fat Boost Metabolism
Kickbox Fast Fit
Killer Abs
Killer Buns and Thighs
I actually haven't gotten to try the abs one or the buns and thighs. If they are anything like the other ones though, I'm sure I'll like them!0 -
I seen the Body Revolution one... that one looks interesting. But the price of it isn't in the budget. :frown:0

If using Jillian Michaels dvd, how does everyone record that here in MFP??0
-
I have:
30 Day Shred (completed the first time through is in December)
Ripped In 30 (currently on Week 3, day 5)
6 Week 6 Pack
Yoga Meltdown (tried this a while back, but wasn't mentally ready to commit. Going to give it another go)
Shred It with Weights (borrowed this from my friend, but I don't have a kettleball, so probably won't get to it)
I plan on borrowing Total Body Revolution from my friend as well...but will see as I am planning on starting the NROL4W workouts in February.
I do love Jillian Michaels though.
For the poster who asked, I log 30 Day Shred/Ripped In 30 as circuit training, and wear my HRM to get a rough idea of my cals.0 -
Thank you for letting my know how you log the dvd0

Cardio - circuit training ..... pretty much all the same (I can't stand her) ..... different strokes ....0 -
I have No More Trouble Zones and 30 Day Shred -- both are VERY effective if you go all-in (like most exercise routines). I personally LOVE 30 Day Shred but I CAN'T STAND Jillian Michaels as an instructor. Maybe it's her VOICE, maybe it's my annoyance that her presence in the video is spent almost entirely walking around looking awesome and not-sweaty showing me how her model buddies are doing an exercise in two different ways while I'm figuring out if I'm doing it right at all? MAAYYYYBE (ok, most likely) it's just me mad when everything of mine hurts and I know I have to do it for another 29, 21, 17, etc days just to start over and do it again? lol I usually listen to tunes and mute her out which saves me some frustration. Fantastic workout, though!0

The are thousands of exercise videos out there ..... you don't have to "settle" for muting the sound. Try renting videos from the library, or Netflix rental has a good selection.
Kelly Coffey Meyer is one of my favorite instructors ..... she DOES the workout with you, & doesn't talk down to you ... not syrupy sweet either (I hate that) .
collagevideo.com and totalfitnessdvds.com are a couple of websites that specialize in fitness videos. You get video clips & reviews.0 -
I just watch the videos on youtube.. Im on the BIG DAY 2 ... 30 day shred0

Love, love, love Jillian Michaels! So far haven't found a bad DVD yet. I have the 30 day shred, burn fat boost metabolism, trouble zones, a few of the biggest loser ones, and I just added the 6 week six pack. I'll let you know how that one goes. Good luck!
PS I love pugs and you are welcome to add me as a friend ; )0 -

I have a heart rate monitor that tracks my calories, so I just use that. If you don't have one, I HIGHLY recommend it!0 -
i love jillian michaels dvds! i'm currently doing 30 day shred, and i like that its pretty short because the days where i feel super lazy and don't want to exercise i just think '25 minutes, and i'll be done!' also, the workout its pretty much as difficult as you want it to be. the moves are pretty hard (level 2 anyway..) & if you push yourself, you'll get an awesome workout in. from the first 10 days i lost about 1.5lbs and around 5inches. it may not seem much, but its the only workout where i've really been able to see physical changes in my body in such a short period of time. but i also add in extra cardio as well (walking, running, HIIT, elliptical)0
