14 Foods You Should Cut From Your Diet

An alternative list:
Don't eat endangered species.
Don't eat food that's been produced using child labour.
Don't eat food that has been produced in the ashes of the rainforest.
Try to cut down on food that's crossed continents to reach you.
Try to cut down on food which can't be reproduced in your own kitchen, because they require industrial equipment and mysterious chemicals.
I am sure there are several "food groups" I have forgotten, but except from what I am allergic to, these are the foods I really try to avoid.

I had a read through the article. Maybe a more useful summary would be:
Be aware of mercury levels in fish, especially if you're pregnant.
Organic food has less pesticides in it.
Dark chocolate has more of the good antioxidants than white choc.
GM foods are everywhere, and hard to avoid.
Artificial sweetners and corn syrups aren't good for you.
Good summary!0 -
Corn: how can it be bad when it comes OUT exactly how it went IN? (It's kinda miraculous... cuz even if you chew it... it comes out whole!)
I noticed this too! So, I went on a 3 day all corn diet figuring I'd have to lose weight because corn must be a negative calorie food. Let's just say, it didn't end well.
(I did give myself credit for a cleanse.)

Here's an article from Yahoo that I found interesting and worthy to share:

This article specifically calls out foods you should avoid, why you should avoid them, and an alternative to consider.
Swordfish
Nonorganic Strawberries
Diet Soda
Anything from McDonald's
Canned Tomatoes
Bread
Industrially Produced Hamburger
Corn
White Chocolate
Artificial Sweeteners
Sprouts
Butter-Flavored Microwave Popcorn
Food Dyes
Chain Restaurant Ice Cream
If you eat Tesco's Hamburgers it might bring out your inner racehorse and help you run faster, lol!!! (anyone not British would probably need to google this one, hahaha!)
Hmmm...is this why I ran faster on the treadmill today :-)) Thought it was me...damn...I've turned into a Lance Armstrong type athlete :-(((0 -

OHHH you shut your mouth with that truffle talk!!! Those are aaaaa-mazing!0 -
I couldn't live without my diet coke, and wheat bread. I couldn't cut out all of the things I love! If I did that, I would end up binge eating and ruin all of the hard work I've put in so far.0

100% agree. However...can someone please explain to me why we need to deal with 'truffles' (lovely chocolatey goodness) and 'truffles' (hello mister piggy, thanks for digging this up and letting me eat it)
When did we run out of names for things?0 -

I always thought this was hilarious ...

I eat:
Nonorganic Strawberries
Anything from McDonald's
Canned Tomatoes
Bread
Industrially Produced Hamburger
Corn

Butter-Flavored Microwave Popcorn

Chain Restaurant Ice Cream

Popcorn: I heard all about that popcorn lung dude... I bought an air popper - but not cuz it's healthier... more cause I like to watch the popcorn kernals swirl around and jump and squeak when the first and last ones pop
Food dye: They put food dye in my body wash... I drink that stuff in the morning... it's my daily cleanse.
and dayum I'm craving a big mac now
I don't have an air popper, but I remember the excitement I use to get as a kid watching the kernels swirl and explode. #goodchildhoodmemories0 -
I agree with the diet soda suggestion. Something is very wrong with that product. I am simply less hungry through the day when I drink water, coffee, and tea. I put some lemon juice in my water, and its delicious.0

I love these rules. Thanks for these!!!0 -
That's such a load of rubbish! For example avoiding bread because it causes celiac lol celiac is inherited not caused by something you eat! We all know aspertine is bad for you yet it's in loads not just diet drinks, all tins have a lining which contains potentially dangerous chemicals same with the pesticides on strawberries you think it's only strawberries and that they haven't checked them before selling them to be eaten, because everyone who eats nonorganic strawberries are dying aren't they or is this all just scary mongering? I think scare mongering.0

Swordfish?
Canned Tomatoes?
Corn?
Sprouts?
uh. yeh.0 -
A few observations. First, why do people who have been on here all of about 20 minutes with a total of 2 posts feel the need to bring enlightenment to the rest of us in the form of a stupid list???
Secondly, oh yeah, I always get my nutritional guidance from Yahoo!! :noway:
Third, orthorexic much??0 -

I totally do this too.... It's even better than popping it on the stove (health-wise and fun-wise!!!)0 -

I still like my organic popcorn and won't stop eating it. I do refuse to eat microwave popcorn though because of the chemicals. It is soooo easy to make popcorn on the stove.0

Get real, this list is nonsense!
If you read the article, you'll see the reasoning behind each listed food, which does looks quite random as a whole without context. Several of these listed foods make sense.0 -
The only things you should cut form your diet are:
1) Food you don't like
2) Food you can't control yourself with, if that exists.0 -
Why just McDonalds? LMAO!
Ugh, anywho..14 Nos coming your way0
