Are you cold? (Weight loss)

Very interesting topic indeed! I am cold in my waking hours and get woken up from sleep by the hot feet and sweats (last part to do with menopause, I'm sure!). My husband is skinny and he is always cold - used to be mega heater at one time!0

I'm usually warm0

That's so me this year dropping almost 50lbs I guess that's what does it not as much insulation (blubber) lol0

I had to search for this topic. I see a lot of people saying they think it's the fat loss that is causing them to feel the cold, but for me I think it's just something related to my metabolism because I haven't lost much yet but I'm FREEZING, so much I can hardly think. I'm not sick and I've been getting plenty of exercise, but the moment I sit down for a rest my body temp just PLUNGES. I think it's my body trying to conserve calories. Ha.
Is anybody else experiencing this? Will my body adjust eventually and doing a better job of burning calories to keep me warm? Otherwise I'm going to have to invest in a woolen mill to keep me in replacement padding all year long.
Brrrr!0 -
invest in fleece and wool.
I've always been cold. fat or not. although, I can adjust with the weather, and now I'm fine inside with my house at 70,
I went outside the other day, thought it was warmer than 40's. or when it's hot adjust, and be fine with it being 80 inside,
but my rabbits don't agree and drink twice as much water as in winter.0 -
I'm single so I wear 2 layers of clothes every night and two blankets! I am cold-natured0

Me! But in all fairness I was cold fat too. I'm anemic so I'm rather cold most of the time. But now with 41lbs gone I feel extra cold.0

I was a heater who would put out so much heat that if for some reason I had to share a bed with my mom she wouldn't be able to sleep next to me.
Nowadays I find that while I still put out excess heat, I'm more vulnerable to cold. No more running around in a teeshirt in -10C weather for me. Instead I'm bundling up, lol.
And I'm only 20 pounds down! I imagine that I'll be freezing all the time when I hit my goal weight!0 -
I used to be able to sleep through the winter months with my window cracked and a fan going cause I always felt too warm
Now there are 2 quilts and a thick blanket on the bed, heat is up to 68 through the night, and Im still - so - cold.
I hope the acclimation process hurries up :S0 -
Well I am a native floridian, so anything under 75 degrees, and I am freezing!!! ( Yes i know nothing compared to up north!!!), but thankfully I have my human body heater called my boyfriend who keeps me warm at night0

Not a side effect of weight loss I'm looking forward to given I find anything under 75 cold.0

Always! Always! Always freezing! I can't keep my fingers warm, like ever. I've pretty much given up on trying.0

I was freezing for several months after losing weight, but it's better than it was. Now, I usually only have a problem after a crazy, heavy-duty run and I sweat a lot. I think it's because I run on a treadmill but with the window open and a fan running. I'm not cold at all while running but wow,, when I'm done, I'm freezing. A nice warm shower afterwards usually cures it, or a hotflash. At least they are good for something. lol0
-
Always. My hands and feet are always icy no matter what0
-
Definitely! I just can't handle the cold like I used to, which made the -11 F this morning just painful. I used to sweat in bed in shorts and t-shirt, now it's flannel, fleece, and an extra blanket!0
-
As I sit here and it is -6 outside YES I freeze all the time!! I can't wait for Spring!!!0
-
Hmm... so the good news is, it's not just me. The bad news is, it's only going to get worse? Let's hope I will also get less sweaty when it's hot out then, because I could live without that!0
-
I feel the cold alot more now, I was quite insulated when I had an extra 1110lbs though! lol, the irony is I could do with that weight now as I work in a coldstore freezer 12hours a day and its not the nicest environment if your sensetive to the cold0
-
..when I had an extra 1110lbs
GOOD LORD!0 -
I use this device called clothes to keep me warm when needed.0

I've got some of those gadgets around too but sometimes they're just not enough. Part of the problem is my drafty, high-ceilinged house, which takes forever to warm up in the evening. It's awkward to cook dinner wearing a wool hat and scarf.0
