With an on everything! I put it in my salads, my chili, I use it as a butter/mayo alternative I use it in pastas... I will puree it with black beans to make a paste/butter alternative that. I mix it with tuna... I eat it all the time.0

I can eat it with anything.. P.S. don't keep it in the fridge, you want it to ripen!
ok but can they get too soft?? I bought a pack of them at Costco and ended up putting them in the fridge after a couple of days b/c I was afraid they would get too ripe. How long can you keep them on the counter??0 -
I love it sliced on my salads.
Also enjoy it on some whole wheat crackers.
Fantastic smashed up on a veggie burger or turkey burger, or really...any kind of burger.0 -
I have yet to try this but saw a suggestion for toasting it in the oven with parmesan cheese and tobasco sauce. I'd probably skip the tobasco but the cheese sounds delicious!
That does sound delicious! And I have all of those ingredients! So thanks for the lunch idea!

If I buy the CostCo pack, I put them ALL in the fridge except the one I plan to consume. When I am 1-2 days away from the next one, I take that one out and put it on the counter to "ripen". They should maintain nicely in the fridge for a few weeks that way.
I never eat the whole thing at once. So I put the unused portion, with the pit still in it, in a sealed plastic bag back in the fridge and finish it in the next 2-3 days.0 -
My fav is to eat it plain with a small sprinkling of soy sauce.0

on a salad is the best way IMO
I also like it with carrots, by itself, on chili, on chicken, ON ANYTHING

Guacamole - I eat it with a fork.
BLOA - I eat this every single Saturday for lunch - Bacon/Lettuce/Onion/Avocado sandwich. Not bad with 1 serving bacon.
Cubed avocado, with cubed strawberries or mangoes, drizzled with honey - I know it sounds weird, but I swear it's good.
Plain chunks sprinkled with sea salt & a good Tuscan seasoning blend or hot sauce.0 -

Thank you for the tip!! That's what I'll do as well.0 -
Just sliced on a warm corn tortilla with some lime juice and a pinch of salt. Yummy!0

I eat it in place of where I'd normally put mayo.

Sliced in half, remove the stone. Poke the edible part all over with a fork. A little dash of salt & pepper, a squeeze of lime, and a dash of tabasco sauce. Sprinkle a little bit.....LITTLE BIT of cheddar or parmesan cheese on top....and broil in the oven!
NOM NOM NOM!!!!0 -
With strawberries. I love this combination.0

I like to make a salad: 1/2 an avocado, 1/4 c. of corn, 1/2 c. black beans, 1/4 c. of onion, and some tomato. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.0

Stuff half an avocado with a tuna salad made with a little mayo and chopped cilantro, or a light shrimp salad. yummy.
I also love them cubed with a squeeze of lemon, a drizzle of soy sauce, some nice salt and sesame seeds. Add a little salt if you need it. So delish!0 -

Me too! and with anything that has a mexican flair.
I like to add a little Tony Chachere's seasoning to it and put it on a salad in place of dressing.
I also like to mix it with cucumber and tomato with a light vinigarette dressing as a side salad. (Throw in some tony's for good measure!)
DO NOT try to mix it with chinese cuisine! Tried it...and ooohhh, yuk!0 -
            Usually sandwich or taco.0

I like it plain old naked on a spoon0

sliced on toast with salt and pepper. In a salad in place of dressing, in mexican dishes, in wraps0

            Usually as guacamole.
But tonight... As a dark chocolate mousse/ice cream on top of frozen bananas. Omnomnom.0 -
I like mine plain, in a sandwich, in a salad, in a wrap.. so many ways to enjoy it.

The tuna and avocado, I want to try that now!0 -
Breakfast taco for breakfast, turkey sandwich at lunch, fajitas for dinner... there are so many ways to enjoy that little boost of avocado!0

            cut up on a salad
Sliced on a sandwich (with or without bread; sometimes I make roll ups with romaine, hummus, tomato, olives and avocado - yum)
Sliced or diced over black beans; black bean soup; chili
halved with salsa on top
Diced with tomato and olives for a little "salad"0
