Do you log food on your cheat days?

Yep, I do and I did--today as a matter of fact. Next time I want to schedule a cheat day---I think I would eat more wisely than just having a bad day and eating everything in sight.0

I try not to cheat fullstop. But in saying that when I have a bit of a blow out or a "bad" choice of meal (ie take away etc), then I ALWAYS log it - it helps me look at the day and think "was that burger really worth 800 cals???" or whatever...
Makes you accountable!0 -
Well, I don't cheat on purpose. I've only cheated a couple times so far.
I'll have gone the entire day as a good, healthy day in diet, but then I'll just go and eat whatever I find tastes the best, and eat alot of it. And I'm never even hungry. I don't know why I do it, but I guess I was more addicted to food then I thought. But I haven't done that in a while.0 -
I log on my cheat days because I need to know how I'm doing. I have noticed that I struggle to eat over 1200 calories (My goal is 1850 each day)...so for me, the cheat days aren't really cheating. I was desperately craving chicken wings and garlic cheese bread last week, so I had some, plus soda. I don't feel bad at all for doing it. I figure once in a blue moon isn't going to hurt me, and as long as I continue to struggle to reach my daily calorie goal, it won't hurt me either. I can afford the little extras right now.
Have to say, it has been interesting to notice that I don't eat near as much as I thought I did. What I used to eat though was so processed and junk food. Keeping a log regardless of what I eat is helping me to see my eating patterns more clearly. (TOM came to visit last week, cravings for protein and ice-cream came last week also. Have noticed this trend for awhile now.)0 -
I had one of those days...we had an event to go to and although I didn't go over board, I didn't stay on track and was almost afraid to log (at first I wasn't going to) and at the end of the day ... it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Logging does help keep you on track, even on your cheat/off days. Good luck!0

I do...even though it's a cheat day, seeing my calories makes me cheat a lot less than normal Enjoy your cheat day!
Same here, I log them and am shocked. Now I don't have a cheat day it on the rare occasion0 -

I do refeed days, and I log them. But my refeed days may have nothing to do with going over on calories. It may be something like mcdonalds fries, or subway steak, bacon, egg flatbread footlong sandwhich, or an entire day of eating nothing but tapioca made with real cream, or whatever. And I typically make notes, so I know now, no matter how delicious I find those fries I'm going to feel miserable for days and its not worth it, but a day of full fat tapioca and I feel great and ready to go back to it with no I'll effects. And the subway I just have to moderate my sodium and try to up my potassium.
So heck yeah I log, because thats the only way to keep track of anything to find out whether that "cheat" (and I really dislike that term, because I'm rather purposeful with mine) is actually worth it. I have a whole list.0 -
add every bite, good - bad- or ugly, it helps you see what you crave, any patterns and ultimately what you can and want to do without or change to a healthier version. Keep up the good job.0

If you have a cheat day you should also have a 1000 cal burn day just as often I think. I would log them both.0

Log it all0

I think I would log everyday ...even if I cheat...The reason I do not cheat is due to me not wanting to fall off of my diet. I make sure I only eat sweets on holidays. It is hard...but I go to work without money...so I do not splurge. I also only bring what I know will suffice for my diet.
I think it is better to eat in the early mornings...on my day off I ate a handful of cheerios and felt like I fell off of the diet.
10 pounds a month. That is my goal...right now I am sitting on top of it. 219 to start...and right now...3 weeks later 209.0 -
I have no need for cheat days since I don't restrict my foods. I eat whatever I want within calories limits. But if I did cheat, I would definately still log it just for comparison, you know?0
-
Log it. Those calories don't just disappear because it's a cheat day0

I log everything.
Even when I went out for my birthday and ate my calorie allowance in chinese food (on top of what I ate beforehand) and didn't exercise.
.... And the next day, when I went to my mom's and had 2 slices of cheesecake haha.0 -
Don't be ashamed of the calories in your diary. It's just a number. Track your numbers and use them to improve yourself.
The body keeps an accurate record of what we eat even if we don't.0 -
I don't have a cheat day, per se but many days where I go over on my calories. It all balances out in the end. Personally I think we need to always log..> That way it gives us a record so that if we have a weight loss plateau we can get an idea of what may be going on and corrections we can make. Best wishes on your journey.0

For myself, I need to be accountable for what I eat. If I make the decision to overeat or simply have something that is way out of bounds then I log. I also not what is going on with me. I am hoping it helps me to overcome some of my eating problems.0

I haven't had a "cheat day" yet, but I have had "cheat evenings". What I do is log Breakfast, Lunch, and Snack just to keep me from binging throughout the day and then in the evening I get my cheat meal and one to two cheat snacks. I never log my cheat evenings but I do make a note in my food notes of what I consumed just so I remember what all I had.0

I log them if I'm home. Lately we've been going out of town for specialist appointments for our baby. During these visits, we stay in a hotel and eat in restaurants. Thinking I was being smart by choosing lackluster salads after quickly searching caloric values of the entrees, I stopped tracking The dressings were outrageous and it seemed each choice royally sucked. Now I make up for it when I come home.0

Friday was a. Cheat day i had pizza and beer. I logged it as several traditional thanksgiving dinners. Thatts what i do.0

When I'm cutting I do log my cheat days. The ipad app of MFP has the pie chart and i try to track week by week progress. When I'm on a bulk I don't log at all.0

I think it's really important you log your cheat days because if you are cheating by a ridiculous amount of calories, you could be sabotaging your entire week without realising.
Personally, I don't agree with cheat days and I think it's better to have a cheat meal and then compensate for it during the week. I also don't think it should be an every week thing but just when you feel like it.... but I know you aren't asking that!
So yes, log your cheat days as it's a good way to keep track of your overall progress. Otherwise, MFP wont be giving you accurate goals.0 -
I would log it hun. At the end of the day , you're only cheating urself if you dont enter it into your diary. And seeing it in black and white might encourage you to try harder? xx
