I love my kids. They're the good part! They make me laugh every day.
I hate all of the bureaucratic paper pushing that I am forced to do that has nothing to do with teaching. It's enough to make me want a career change. And they wonder why it's hard to find and keep good teachers...0 -

QDDP- Qualified Developmental Disability Professional, formerly QMRP, Qualified Mental Retardation Professional.
I've been one since October 1, 2012. I had never heard of this job title before and knew nothing about it, but met the qualifications. I really like my job, but the stress of the learning curve is tough right now. I'm doing better at the job than I was, but I still have an enormous amount to learn. The people are wonderful individuals. There is never a dull moment. No two days are ever the same.
NAQ - The National Association of Qualified Developmental Disability Professionals states that two of our duties are:
-The QDDP/QMRP observes individuals, reviews data and progress, and revises programs based on individual need and performance.
-The QDDP/QMRP ensures that any discrepancies or conflicts between programmatic, medical, dietary, and vocational aspects of the individual’s assessment and program are resolved.
I used to be a QMRP... They always referred to us as "Q"s as well. Suppose it went with the territory. Now, I am a High School Band Director. (Dual Certified)...
Others do exist! Why'd you change careers?0 -
