I manually *kitten* zoo animals for insemination purposes. There are good days and bad days, but it pays well,

I guess you have to just take each day as it comes ...

Collective moan! haha That is a good one though.

I am a Q! No, it has nothing to do with James Bond. haha Are there any others out there?

QDDP- Qualified Developmental Disability Professional, formerly QMRP, Qualified Mental Retardation Professional.

I've been one since October 1, 2012. I had never heard of this job title before and knew nothing about it, but met the qualifications. I really like my job, but the stress of the learning curve is tough right now. I'm doing better at the job than I was, but I still have an enormous amount to learn. The people are wonderful individuals. There is never a dull moment. No two days are ever the same.

NAQ - The National Association of Qualified Developmental Disability Professionals states that two of our duties are:

-The QDDP/QMRP observes individuals, reviews data and progress, and revises programs based on individual need and performance.
-The QDDP/QMRP ensures that any discrepancies or conflicts between programmatic, medical, dietary, and vocational aspects of the individual’s assessment and program are resolved.

I used to be a QMRP... They always referred to us as "Q"s as well. Suppose it went with the territory. Now, I am a High School Band Director. (Dual Certified)...

Others do exist! Why'd you change careers?

I teach 6th grade history at a public middle school. This is my 6th year.

I love my kids. They're the good part! They make me laugh every day.

I hate all of the bureaucratic paper pushing that I am forced to do that has nothing to do with teaching. It's enough to make me want a career change. And they wonder why it's hard to find and keep good teachers...

YES. This is why I ultimately decided teaching wasn't for me. Originally, I was an English Education major for high school

I'm a stay at home wife (no kids) at the moment. I used to work in corporate marketing and got laid off a few years ago. I worked part time for awhile in print sales and then as a technical support rep for a real estate software company. Hubby is a law enforcement officer and our schedules were completely opposite, so now I just take care of our home, our finances and us :) I wouldn't mind finding a part-time weekend job that does not involve an office or going back to school.

I run a company that specialises in managing obsolete computer equipment that is still in use.
It's amazing how much business critical stuff is out there and happens on systems designed 30 years ago and all the staff that knew how they work have either retired or shuffled off this mortal coil.

Unfortunately it means I spend a lot of time away from home in hotels etc.

And the worst thing about hotels is people keep coming up to you and asking "More food and beer sir?"

I bake. Off to get my hands in the flour just now, actually! Have a good day, everyone!

I LOVE baking. Are you self-employed? I would love to open a cupcake shop of my own someday.

I work in a locally owned place. I love what I do, but I personally have no interest in opening my own bakery. I love my boss and I get to come in, do all the fun stuff, and leave at the end of the day without having to worry about the numbers/personnel. I'm putting myself through school right now, but can't see myself not ever working as a chef again, even in a small capacity.

    I guess...

I'm a paralegal with 13 years experience. I work for one of the biggest law firms in the world, at their NY Rock Center office. I love that I don't have to deal with customers or the public (although some lawyers are pretty crazy and demanding), the perks are great, and there are always paralegal jobs to be had, even in this stinky economy. I love getting paid time and a half for overtime. My firm allows me to work as much overtime as I want, as long as I can bill it, so it's like owning a franchise. Sweet!

I'm talking about the sweeping generalization you made about people that love their jobs. Calm down, Cujo.

O I see and now I understand what I am dealing with ok thank you and with the cujo is that not Based on a Stephen King novel, Cujo is not as menacing or as frightening as other film adaptations of King's popular stories so could have thought of some thing a little more frightening come on I am called the machine after all haha but back to the point I am of course I am as how else would you like me to do it I can't compare to every single person on the earth but I can go by polls and research and facts and it clearly shows when one is happy in their job they stop aiming higher therefore not earning anymore therefore staying the same I have clearly just said for one to continue to aim higher and higher as there is all way more money to be made :)
