What time in the day do you stop eating?

I try to have my last meal of the day before 7, although with my work schedule it's not always possible. Because I am diabetic I usually have a small snack before I go to bed but I have to be careful what it is or else I wake up in the middle of the night with heartburn. That's mainly the reason I don't like to eat too late in the evening anyway. I do have the snack just to help keep my blood glucose levels okay through the night.0

When I feel like it.
Especially considering I know it is false that you have to stop eating at a certain time or it turns into fat. I mean, really? How did this come about anyway?0 -
I was just curious what time in the day you stop eating. I tend not to eat after 8pm in the evening, not sure why but I always think anything that I eat after that will just sit idle in my stomach and could slow down weight loss.
It's an old wives tale. Your stomach doesn't recognize time of day. The recommendation to stop eating after 8:00 became popular because it's really a way to get people to stop snacking in front of the TV. It has nothing to do with biology.
I stop eating when I'm no longer hungry. Sometimes I'm okay after dinner (7:00). Sometimes I need a little snack before bed.
Not exactly an Old Wives Tale. But ignored by most without huge issues. Circadian rhythms are real and food is the biggest pusher of our circadian rhythm. In fact food is more important than light!
Shift Work and Hypothyroidism
If circadian rhythms are important for thyroid function, we would expect shift workers to have high rates of hypothyroidism. Shift workers sleep during the day and eat at night, which disrupts circadian rhythms.
It turns out that shift work doubles the risk of autoimmune hypothyroidism:0 -
meal timing is arbitrary. however, i usually stop eating an hour or so before going to bed. i find it easier to fall asleep that way.0

No set time. I eat my supper around 7-8PM, but since I don't go to bed until around 3AM I more than likely eat something around midnight.0

8 PM, if I am midway thru my dark choc. and I get side tracked, usually with my 3 yr old grand-daughter, and it gets to be after 8, I wrap it up for the next day.....I know, I know, I'm a little OCD that way0

I eat until I brush my teeth and go to bed. Haven't had any problems not losing so far, or any problems sleeping or with indigestion.0

As a diabetic I eat a bedtime snack. In fact with my weird sleeping habits my dietician set me up with an actual meal around 10 PM and a bedtime snack at 1 AM. I go to sleep around 2 and get up at 11 AM. Gotta love retirement!0

If I have something between 7-9pm (our family dinner time), then I will not eat before I go to bed. If I don't, then somewhere between 10-midnight I will get hungry and it will distract me from sleep. I don't eat a whole meal--just something that includes a little fat, a little protein. and some fiber.
Also, after dinner cleanup I will have 1-2 cups of black tea unsweetened. I like the palate cleansing affect. And it may (since I have been doing this evening unsweetened black tea thing for several years) have become like a pavlova response: BLACK TEA + NIGHT = NO MORE EATING.
This is my usual. Sometimes things go differently, especially on the weekends with a glass of wine or dessert. Then when I get home and my palate is asking for more sweet, an apertif, some salt-- IF I THINK about having tea before I reach for whatever sugar or salt that is in my immediate thoughts--I can usually exert enough will power to make a cup of unsweetened black tea instead. It is amazing; It deletes/overrides/cancels/neutralizes the desire for another taste of this or that.0 -
When the calories are used up, I brush my teeth, and usually turn off all the lights in the kitchen.
If I feel like I need to eat something else, I usually got for a cup of sleepy time tea0 -
Just before bed...I hate crumbs on the pillow. Also...I drool in my sleep, that would be a mess.0

No set time, just when my calories are used up or I'm not humgry. As I like to eat in the evenings I've usually saved a few for then, also work night shift two nights a week so tend to eat all night then!!!0

The time of day does not determine when I eat. I eat when I am hungry.0
-
7 or 8 so it gives my food 3-4hrs to digest before going to sleep0
-
I start around noon and finish eating around 7 or 8pm.0

I stop eating when i'm out of calories or no longer hungry. Sometimes I do have calories left but if it's too close to going to bed or I feel it's too late to eat then I make myself wait till the morning. LOL yes i'm going to quote I believe "The Doctors or Dr. Oz" that said don't eat 90 minutes before you go to bed.0
-
I try to have my last bite of food by 7 or 8 p.m. Otherwise, my food doesn't seem to digest properly before I go to bed and I don't sleep well.0
