    good morning....

been busy these last few days. i know why the new meds help you lose weight. i am not hungry. now if that were my problem....to just not eat when i was hungry i would lose weight. my problem is i am food addict. i will eat no matter what. i do feel fuller faster, and a little sick to my tummy. now if that continues it will help me. we will see.

nothing much new in my neck of the woods.

glad to see everyone is doing so well.

Good morning girls..... 3 more days till my birthday !!!! :drinker: :flowerforyou:

I am so excited.... I asked hubby to take me out to dinner for my birthday..... the restaurant on the water has this awesome grilled chicken on skewers with lots of veggies!!!!

Tracy -- thanks for all the support.... i think what happened was i was gaining muscle FASTER then i was losing fat .... and not drinking enough water... ive corrected it this week and already seeing results! Goes to show when your not in tune with what your body is doing... nothing will work ! keep up the awesome work !

Lauryn-- i am so proud of you for making a step towards the right direction with your HEALTH ! for you and your sweet girl ! .... My mom and I are starting a walking routine starting this morning !

Me, my mom and the baby will be going on scenic trails throughout this beautiful semi-private area..... that we own land in ! .... so we plan on doing M, T, T, & F........ !!! and then 4-5 days of the week i will do my firm plan as well..... for toning up whatever im losing... and I started back this morning writing everything in the MFP journal ... instead of wasting so much paper ! Good morning gals!!!

Lorna...I think you meant Lauryn...she's the one quitting smoking! I've been done now for almost three years! But no biggie...there's SO many of us on here! I think adjusting your goal this challenge was a good idea...that way when you reach it, you can enjoy that success! You are doing great!

Amy (pdx)...Thanks! I am pretty excited about the good numbers I am seing this challenge...totally needed them since I was in a slump for so long! But when there's a will, there's a way and with my new-found motivation I know anything is possible! I so hope you figure everything out and I am praying for you! Would love to have you back in on the next challenge! Take care sweetie!

Amy (baha)...CANCELLED THE CAKE?!?! WOW...that is HUGE! Way to go! I don't think I would be that good...I love me some cake! lol! And Happy Early Birthday if my mommy brain takes over and I forget! Yes...I do want more kids...at least one, but probably two. We are planning on waiting another couple years. We want to find a bigger house, but we are thinking of refinancing the one we have now and will probably stay in it for another two years (much to do before we can sell it) and so probably after that, or maybe just a little before. But I definitely have to be back in shape before I get pregnant again. It's funny because we have talked about it and already have names picked out for our next ones...so I know they will come, just not quite yet!

B...Hope you recover quickly! I know how frustrating it is when you want to work out and can't! Don't worry...you'll be right back to it soon!

Cathy...good morning! I love food too...so I understand your frustration! But you can do it!!

Well...I had a good/bad night. I went home and went on a 2 mile walk. Did my 15 minute Ab workout. But it ended up getting late and so I SKIPPED dinner! HORRIBLE! Instead I ended up having a bowl of ice cream with cool whip and mixed nuts and THEN some dark chocolate!! BAD! But I still was under in calories...just too bad they were not good calories! I WILL do better tonight! No more skipping dinner!!!

    Plan for today:
    B-Oatmeal, 1/2 c. skim milk, 2 c. coffee, 4 tbsp. sugar-free creamer
    S-trail mix bar, banana
L-turkey, 1 oz. cheese, lettuce, honey mustard on wheat bread, baby carrots, light yogurt
    S-golden delicious apple
D-(From last night) Pork chops in Tuscan sun-dried tomato marinade, red baked potato, mixed veggies
    S-??Strawberries or a pear

    Exercise plan:
2 mile walk if it doesn't rain, 15 minute upper body workout.

    Have a good morning!!!

I'm still here! It's been a super busy week for me. Not surprised that I'm up, but I'm surprised I'm up that much! But then, I just ended TOM and while I haven't been eating super badly, I haven't been eating great.

Lauryn - Yay to the quitting smoking!!!! That's great!!

    As for my running report:

I started running 19 days ago. Out of those 19 days, I've run 11 of them. And even more importantly, out of the past 7 days, I've run 6 of them! Still not running far, but I never thought I'd run as far as I am now. Especially with the bone spur! But my toe has actually been feeling better. I can't wait to actually be able to call myself a runner! I think maybe when I"m able to run the whole 0.7 mile to the kids school without stopping?

Do any of you runners know why my toe with the bone spur would actually be feeling better now than it did with walking? I'd love to know why.

WHOOPS! lol ... I kinda disappeared!

Honestly, it's been the most insane 3 weeks ever. Full-on up and down ride. The briefest possible coles notes is this:

You may remember that we were going to move. Well, 24 hours before getting keys I just happened to randomly look for a play house on a used stuff site. There was just one there and turned out it was being sold by the people who lived in the suite. The woman finds out we have little ones (so does she) and said we needed to talk ASAP. Found out that the reason they're leaving is that a registered SEX OFFENDER lives downstairs! Subsequently, ALL KINDS of drama with this jerk landlord about getting out of the lease etc.
BUT. Because we weren't moving I was suddenly available on the weekend. Friend emails me to say there's a training workshop happening and she was being offered a 2-for-1 and would I like to go? I decided to take the leap and do it so over the weekend I achieved my Certified Groove Method Facilitator and Certified Groovin with Kids designations. I am not exaggerating in the slightest when I say that it changed my life in a BIG WAY. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the changes that have come through the experience of not only the training but the connections I made. It's INSANE. So, I'm still going through the process of getting my cert for group ex but I'm going to focus on weight training when I'm working at the gym. I'm putting out feelers for where I can get some Groove classes running and I'm meeting tonight with two other women (my friend that brought me to the workshop and another friend who is in the process of becoming a master trainer for this method) because we want to collaborate and take the city by storm.

Incidentally, if any of you EVER have a chance to take a Groove Method class, DO IT. You'll love it. Incredible work out and more fun than you've ever had at a class :)

Sorry that I have to run for now but just wanted to explain the MIA!

Kristin - Congrats on your three years of not smoking  *HAHA*

Lauryn - AWESOME JOB ON QUITTING SMOKING! I'm so glad you guys keep me straight.

Amyp - Running is addictive isn't it. Amazing job on your endurance. Sometimes it's not the distance but just the stick-to-it-iveness (I know not a word) that keeps us in the race. You are doing great!

Baha - Hope you enjoy your outings and the weather cooperates with you and yours.

    B- HI :)

Cathy - I'm glad the medicine is working for you. Sometimes the right combination is all we need to get our bodies and minds to reconnect. You are doing fantastic.

    AFM
I have been "clean eating" now for 9 days. I guess I magically thought I would lose weight and would feel better. Not happening. But I am still sticking to it anyway because it truly is just a healthier way of life. Even if it doesn't fix my "female problem", at least it will help not cause any other problems while we figure this out. Good news is that nothing showed up on the sonogram. Bad news is, nothing showed up on the sonogram. So I go back in 3 weeks to find out about the blood test.

Have a great weekend everyone! I'll try and pop in, but can't promise anything. HUGS TO ALL!!!!

Lorna...Well, I know it doesn't give you an answer, but I am glad nothing turned up. Hoping you do get it figured out soon though! And good job on the clean eating! That is definitely a healthier way of life.

Rhiannon...AMAZING!! I am so proud of you! How exciting!! I can't wait to hear all about how things are progressing!!!! And sorry about the moving troubles...definitely don't need to be by a sex offender! Glad you learned about that ahead of time! Take care, my friend! Was great to hear an update!!!

Cathy...I LOVE Sizzlin' Sixers!!! There's my vote!

Amy (pyr)...Awesome job on the running! It truly does give you a high! Can't wait to get more back into it myself! Looking into some jogging strollers right now!

Well...time for some lunch! Hope you are all having a good day!

B - Hope you are feeling better. Thinkin about ya

Well, I got another belly rub. Hubby thinks I have an impaction due to my muscles tensing around my colon. I wouldn't be surprised. But this morning I woke up and my belly was actually softer still and shrunk a little more. And I was down unofficially to 142 lb. I logged it on here hoping to inspire me for the weekend. I was able to stay "clean" last weekend and am looking forward to another successful weekend. Made homemade, fresh bread yesterday and oh so yummy.

Zumba for me this morning. Hopefully if hubby gets home early enough tonight, we are going bike riding to our date night dinner and back.

    Have a great weekend ladies!

Good morning friends! My unofficial weigh-in today: 172.5!!!! So that would be down another 1.5 pounds! SO hoping to break into the 160s by the end of this challenge!!!

Last night wasn't so great...I over ate! BUMMER! Had a run in with some dark chocolate AND ice cream! I hate having this stuff around the house! NO self control! I WILL do better tonight and this weekend!!!!!! But I was good and got in a 2 mile walk before the rain started AND did my 15 minute upper body workout. It's raining today, so I don't know if I'll be able to get a walk in this evening...but I will do my 15 minute Ab workout and maybe even check out some of the other workout videos I have. Or maybe get in some treadmill time. We shall see...

    Meal plan:
    B-oatmeal, 1/2 c. skim milk, 2 c. coffee, 4 tbsp. sugar-free creamer
    S-trail mix bar, banana
L-Leftover Tuscan sun-dried tomato pork chop, mixed veggies, baby carrots, and light yogurt
    S-golden delicious apple
D-Homemade Fiesta Turkey Pie...YUM! With a garden salad!
    S-Strawberries and cool whip free

Amy (baha)...glad you had a great day!

Lorna...Yay for the shrinking stomach and unofficial weigh-in! Let's both do great over the weekend!

    Everyone else...HELLO!

    Have a great Friday morning!

Good morning everyone. Been MIA over the last 2 weeks. 1 week was my cruise... details to follow, the second was just crazy. Wed, Thurs, and Fri didn't get home till after 10 pm each nite. (school stuff) Man I need a vacation. I haven't even gotten on the scale this week. Usually I do everyday. I guess there are pros and cons to that, but it works for me. Everyone has been so busy while I have been gone.
Lauryn- Sounds great about quitting smoking. After about a month you will be amazed how acute your sense of smell gets.
B- how are you feeling now? Are you done with school yet? I know it has to close.
Kristen- You are soooo correct, Saucy Sunbathing Sixers is really creative!
Amy- I love the new pic with you and your baby. So beautiful.
Rhiannon- don't blame you for changing your mind on the place to live.

I know there are so many more to chat with but it is very beautiful outside and I need to work in my yard while it is cool in STL.
This week I will get back to journaling my food and exercise.
BTW- Cruises are wonderful. I absolutely loved it and will go again.

sigh... haven't been trying to be MIA but life is busy and between trying to eat better, exercise, maintain some cute/presentable look for work AND studying/doing well in school... not much time to do more than check in and fill out my food and exercise log!
I have to choose a specialty soon for school too. I'm thinking about choosing Psychiatry. I REALLY enjoyed it and the options/job opportunities are vast! So... we shall see.

On the weight loss front, I got up to almost 160 some how! OMFGosh. I was shocked but no time to simmer in regrets... only time to get busy and work hard because the wedding is in 5 weeks!
I hate feeling rushed/stressed about my weight BUT It is ok. I will get it done. Better to suffer a bit now/ have to restrict now, than to be embarrassed at her wedding because I can't fit my dress.

On a side note, I'm getting my backed checked out on Monday and got my feet checked out on Thursday! Found out that I'm going to need orthotics! Probably why my knees and feet hurt after standing on them all day!

Exercise: I went on a 65 min walk. :-) Working hard.

Hi ladies, just a quick check in and to hold myself accountable.

My TOM is starting slowly today, so I am forcing myself to go to the gym, since it's not "that bad" pain wise yet and I have no idea what the rest of the week will hold in connection with pain. Saturday was really bad, but I still got out all day long with my family and even made my husband walk with me for exercise (and to go to the bakery and get some honey yummies). So off I will go for step class and then probably collapse for the rest of the day.

Cathy - Great job on keeping on this site to encourage us. I appreciate you!

Baha - I'm thrilled you had a good day.

B - It stinks that you are still feeling so badly. If it continues for too long, talk to your surgeon. You might have an infection that can be quickly cleared with antibiotics. It shouldn't take too terribly long after teeth extraction.

Sandy - I'm in Baltimore. And the weather here is so confusing. Actually heading to Ocean City with my baby girl for the weekend and it's calling for rain and high 60s to 70s. Up side? At least I don't have to put on a bathing suit yet ;)

    Hi Tiff.

Okay, finish work, gym...then play the rest of the day by ear depending on how I feel. My house is in serious need of some cleaning, but might have to wait until I have to be on my feet when my kids get home. Have a great one everyone. See you on week 5.

    Good morning gals!

Well...had a FABULOUS horrible weekend. FABULOUS because I got the house all cleaned and laundry all done on Saturday so I wouldn't have anything to do on Sunday. Kadence and I made some finger paintings for her grandma (my mother-in-law) and we also finger-painted a pot for my mom! My husband got me a brand new jogging stroller for Mothers day which I cannot wait to try out this week!!! And horrible because I ended up getting in NO exercise this weekend and eating HORRIBLY (includes Arbys at 9:00PM Saturday and a HUGE brownie covered with dark chocolate and cool whip on Sunday). But it's over and done with now and I'm going to have a GREAT eating day today!!

    Meal plan:
    B-oatmeal, 1/2 c. skim milk, 2 c. coffee, 4 tbsp. sugar-free creamer
    S-trail mix bar, banana
L-turkey, 1 oz. cheese, lettuce, honey mustard on wheat bread, baby carrots, light yogurt
    S-golden delicious apple
D-Leftover chili from my momma! with a garden salad and spritzer dressing
    S-strawberries with cool whip free!

    Exercise plan:
It's supposed to rain....if not, a run with my NEW jogging stroller!!! If it does, a run on the treadmill. Also 15 minute Ab workout!

    Have a great morning girls!

WEIGHT LOSS UPDATE: probably have gained. focusing on not smoking for another week before getting back to my weight.
SMOKING UPDATE: Day 3 of being a nonsmoker! Chantix is AWESOME.
DIVORCE UPDATE: still waiting... haven't settled custody yet... haven't settled assets yet... you'd think we were loaded instead of dirt poor with as long as this is taking
LOVE LIFE UPDATE: Yep, I love life!! My boyfriend is great. We are still dating and still just enjoying life. My daughter adores him, he adores her. Life is Good.
