How many 1400 calorie ladies are out here

I just upped my calories to 1400 calories to see how this works for me. before I was eating 1000-1100 calories. its my first day at 1400.

    I also keep mine around 1400-1500. It has been working better for me than less, my body needs that extra bit to know that I'm not starving it.

    I'm at 1450 net calories. It's where I've started and I'll go down from here if necessary. I've been at 1450 for about 11 weeks now. I'm actually pretty happy here but it can be hard when eating out. I try to look up calories at restaurants before hand. We eat out a lot so it's tricky.

    I'm at about 1390, upped from 1200, which I couldn't stick to.
    So far so good! I'm not losing fast but I'm losing steadily, and I'm not sad or cranky all the time!

    OK, this is strange. You just posted in defense of 1200 calories and jumped all over the people who tried to tell you this was not a good idea. Now you do this? What's up?

    Yeah, I'm at 1400 and it's working well for me so far! Much easier to stick to than other times when I've restricted myself too much. Good luck with it, it's a much better idea than being hungry and being more likely to slip up :happy:

    I use to be 1400-1500cals but then my stomach shrunk or something and I've lowered my calories to 1200cals.

    Before I got pregnant, I was doing 1400. 1200 was not nearly enough for me, I wasn't losing and was starting to gain. Feel free to add! I'm at 1700 now, sometimes go over when I can actually eat, most times I'm under lately lol.
  • I am at 1400 calories net. I eat back any exercise calories. I started at 1280 calories then ate back all excercise calories. But I was hungry. I upped it to 1550 a day and only eating back excerise for acitivites that weren't in my normal routine. I gained weight doing that. So 1400 and only eating back exercise that is out of my normal routine is the magic number for me. I used to eat back when I cleaned ( i have 2 kids so I clean ALOT) but now I just eat back walks, power 90, HITT, etc.

    I'm at 1400. I lost lots of weight at 1200, but started having insane binge days. It wasn't sustainable for me. This is much better, and seems like the right amount of food for me.

    I vary between 1200 and 1400 cals, switching up from time to time has helped me greatly.

    1200 is fine. I have no problem its not strange at all. I just need to up my calories to get a curb on this binge eating stuff. I still hold my ground on the 1200 calorie crew.
  • I just upped my intake yesterday to 1400. Hope this works!

    I'm at 1400 as well. I upped it from 1200.

    Something didn't feel right.
    I drink lots of water (cut out sodium, dont normally drink sodas) have lots of energy and feel pretty good- except after 4 days of 1200 cal- I started feeling bloated...I still feel bloated.

    -dont know how I could feel great in one blink and in the next, feel like a busted can of biscuits...too weird.

    Upped mine just before Christmas. I couldn't stay within 1200 and if I did I was starb\ving. 1400 is good, I eat backe exercise calories but usually can stay around the 1400 /
  • MFP has me set at 1590 calories since I exercise "moderately." However, I usually only consume 1300-ish. I always work out in the evenings, so I always plan my workouts ahead of time. If I know I'm going to work out hard that night at the gym I'll eat closer to 1500 during the day. If I only plan on lifting weights or doing 30-45 minutes of cardio and leaving it at that I'll eat 1200-1300.
