Using the whole "they weren't being honest" excuse is lame. You probably don't know what is in 90% of your food, especially if you don't prepare it. You also don't know the process it goes through. You think the burgers were just old McDonald's farm cows that grazed happily on a pasture and were painlessly put down? You think free range, hormone free and cage free mean something too I bet.0

I got a burger with horse at McDonald's, once.
It was a "My Little Pony" toy.0 -
I don't get how it's disgusting to eat horses but not cows.

Burger King admits it sold burgers with horse meat in the UK.....how disgusting! Poor horses!
What about those poor cows?0 -
Meh.
Horse meat. Cow meat. All the same.
except that it's dishonest if you tell people it's one animal when it's another. I live in the Gulf and the supermarket staff always check that I know I'm buying camel meat when I buy it, because most westerners don't want to eat it.
What sort of meals do you make with camel meat? I love trying new things. I'm addicted to shows like bizarre foods.0 -

Yeah, I can see how it could be upsetting. Not really gross. My thing would be because horses, similar to dogs, have distinct personalities. I have never had a pet chicken, pig or cow, so I really don't know about them. It makes it easier to eat them I guess.0

Thank you for debunking this bit of ridiculousness...most people just post without actually looking into the issue. I didn't think it sounded legit.0

I was referring to the "ooh the poor horses" comment.
Whether or not BK was dishonest, that's a different point.0 -
While I understand that horse meat is acceptable in many areas, it doesn't mean that I want to eat it, so I would not be thrilled to learn that I had inadvertently done so due to a company failing to inform their customers of the content of their product.0
