"Beyond Diet"...have you tried it? Looking for opinions

Beyond Diet is a great program to lose weight and more importantly feel great. The program is not about counting calories but eating per your bodies metabolism.
You will eat wholesome foods, not processed foods that align with your metabolism.
I've been a member of Beyond Diet for quite some time and the program amazes me because I don't feel like I'm on a diet and I lose weight every week.
Just Google "Beyond Diet Reviews" to read for yourself.0 -
Just found this, so thought I'd put in my 2-cents worth... I just joined myfitnesspal as a kind of test to see if what I'm eating on Beyond Diet is really as many calories as they say it is. It's only been a week, but my findings so far are that weightloss is NOT just calories in vs. calories out! I've been on Beyond Diet for 6 1/2 months and have lost 37 pounds on the program eating about 2000 calories a day. I'm going to keep up the double logging for a while just to see if my findings continue to agree.... but I am very happy with the Beyond Diet program where I don't count calories, do moderate exercise and get to eat food that tastes good and fills me up. The only thing I've really "given up" is sugar, hydrogenated fats, and soy. And I don't eat processed or packaged foods - you have to plan and cook real foods. It IS a way of life, not a diet and is not super-fast weightloss. I love it!0

I think that if you don't feel that you need Beyond Diet and are losing weight on your own, then you should continue doing what works for you. But everyone needs different guidance and support and I've found Beyond Diet a terrific resource. I don't have to spend time bumbling around the internet to find information I'm looking for and there's a very supportive community that doesn't shoot down your choices, who will cheer your accomplishments. Eating is actually so much more than the simplistic calories in calories out equation, and the program (it's not a diet, but lifestyle change) gives you a place to find information and support.
The less weight you have to lose, the harder it is to lose any. I needed to lose 10 lbs, and although I've always been very aware of nutrition and followed what I thought were extremely healthy eating principles, and a regular execise routine, I couldn't get the weight off. In 2 weeks following the Beyond Diet plan, I lost 5 lbs, never feel hungry, have lost cravings for sweet things and have learned more about the science of food than I knew before. You won't know if the program will works for you if you don't try it. But one thing is for sure, if you don't make a committment to it and truly understand and follow the plan once you join, it will not work. And that is not the fault of the plan itself.0 -
You do not need a website to eat healthier foods. Simply ask questions here for advice on food types that are smarter choices and you can save the money.
Despite what some people think, it is Calories In vs Calories Out, and why yes, diet can effect Calories Out. The biggest problem people face when determining this is they do not accurately measure or they over estimate how much they burn or under estimate how much they eat. Then they argue to the contrary to protect their pride.
And remember, weight loss is not always fat loss.0 -
Waste of money. You can get all the support and resources you need to do the same thing for free!0

If this is redundant, I apologize as 'dieting' is a sore subject for me and I want to get this info out there and I didn't read the entire thread:
The real definition of diet is:
di·et noun \ˈdī-ət\
1
a : food and drink regularly provided or consumed
So it's just what we eat, right? So being on a diet is just eating. In order to lose weight, we need to make a lifestyle change of what we eat and also have to add some very important tools to our weight-loss toolbox. Those tools are:
1. Knowing the feeling of hunger
2. Knowing the feeling of being full
3. Knowing the feeling of thist (and being able to tell the difference between 1 and 3)
So lets start by changing our diet:
1. Limit processed foods
2. Limit or cut sugars
3. Limit fast food to "healthy" food (el pollo loco, chipotle, freebirds, etc.)
4. Limit eating out at all
I've said it before and I'll say it again, "dieting" is just a lifestyle change. Fad diets don't work in the long run as you've not learned anything from it.0 -
The thing is it's only $47 that's it, not real pocket busting investment and it's a life membership, doesn't sound bad to me real foods real recipes, not pre packaged food they send to you they give you a shopping list to go grocery shopping with, sounds good to me, and if you already workout like crazy which some do and you still don't lose weight it's obviously your diet, so I say try it it's only $47... And weight lose for SOME PEOPLE is waaaaaay beyond calories in vs calories out.0

Dieting and losing weight needs a particular procedure depending in your physique and way of living. So if you think you can google out what will suit you, you may be wrong. So i guess this program is a better option than trying random procedures of internet.0

I have been looking into Beyond as I lost 4 stone doing a low carb diet and it worked for me, however I did get off plan and in 2 years I have put on 1 stone. I think from what I experienced in that 1 year is that carbs like pasta, rice and bread honestly do not get on with me. I am going to give the Beyond diet a go as it is pretty much what I know already and I just wish I trusted myself and continued eating clean.
I have to say that everyone is different and low fat diets make me put on weight and I have no doubt about that. Sugar is the enemy and not fat. We need good fats and yes that includes saturated. I never counted calories when I was eating low carb and I lost weight every week. I felt good and my asthma was much better. I am def going to have to stick to this as I know it is better for my health. I am going to eat what I feel is good for my body and listen to my body.
I don't think it is a fad. I am not signing up yet, but to be honest £30 for lifetime membership and access to support and recipes does not seem so bad to me. I did buy the book on my kindle and will see how I get on without the support and will keep researching into recipes etc.0 -
Angelangi - thanks for the youtube link. very helpful!0

Call me cynical, but this thread seems to have become a shill party.
Consider me in the "why pay for what you can get for free here and with a few simple google searches" crowd. Unless you *like* giving your money away, in which case I'll aggregate some google searches, point to a few youtube videos and only charge you $19.99.0 -
I say save your money my mom tried weight watchers and hated it!Google for free internet has everything you need to know! Eat less burn more its not what u eat its how much you eat,0

Shill party is right. So many 1 post adherents. I hear they have "coaches" too.
Do it here for free. Spend your money on healthy food or a new amusement.
MFP has great FREE tools and lots of knowledgeable people around who aren't charging to help you.0 -
sounds like a lot of Paleo elements in this diet0

This^ Strange how many people only have one post(this one) to their name on here and ALL are "interested" in Beyond Diet...0 -
i'm a member and love it. the way i see it is that all of the information, that i could easily waste days looking for, is in one place. i like the program itself and it outlines in easy terms, what i need to do to maintain my weight...it's a more comprehensive site that myfitnesspal, but there are a lot of similarities.0

I think Beyond Diet is worth it for a few reasons: 1. If you are still trying, you haven't been able to succeed on your own; 2. She provides a list of what you can eat so you can limit yourself to a nutritious diet; 3. She provides a daily log of what you are eating so you can track it. Furthermore, it's not expensive and it's an investment in yourself and well-being. As someone else noted, it is up to you though. If you don't stick to the plan, you won't succeed. Best of luck!0

Personally, I wouldn't take anyone with 1 post seriously.
I am wondering about this program as well. I am not wondering about just this program but anything. I need a way to consistently make meals and lunches and such as I am getting real tired of eating the same things over and over because I know they're healthy, I need recipes! lists! i dunno, something!0 -
It's true about the information Beyond Diet gives you, all that info is free and accessible if you know where to look for it and who to talk to. What you're paying for with the membership to Beyond Diet is the "legwork". They give you meal plans, research of lists of food not to eat, lists of food TO eat, and etc. It's like Weight Watchers, all this stuff is common sense, but people go to Weight Watchers and pay XX of dollars every week to get weighted, go to a meeting, and absorb in all the info Weight Watchers has collected/created over all these years. - That's not really a "scam" it just depends on whether or not you have the time and effort to put into researching all this info on your own and creating your menu plan for yourself vs. buying a menu plan someone else already made.0

tdelam - I think the first statement in your comment was kinda rude. I wouldn't take anyone who is RUDE too seriously.0

Actually, I know what they are trying to say. In this post and others you get a LOT of single post, just joined, no photo answers. Many times they come across as people who are pushing or selling a specific diet or product. I too often ignore them because they scream spam. You would be different in the fact that, while you are new, you have a profile and picture.
Take the poster right before theirs. Signed up and the SAME day posted on here about how awesome the diet is. No picture, no profile information, and this is their only post. Hard to take something like that seriously.0 -
I agree. It's 10% exercise and 90% food. It is also eating whole foods and eating and exercising as well as resting (sleep) at the right times. That said, we are an overworked nation and that is why we are overweight.
We really should be spending less time working and more time interacting socially and enjoying the world. Stress causes weight gain and disease!0 -
The list below of the 5 foods to never eat may surprise you if you’re on a fast weight loss diet.
1. Orange juice – contains very high sugar content which will disrupt your body’s blood sugar and insulin levels.
2.Artificial sweeteners – cause weight gain as they are perceived as a toxin to the body.
3.Whole wheat bread – wheat products have been shown to quickly turn into sugar in the body.
4.Fake butters – are made from unhealthy, unnatural ingredients perceived as toxins in the body.
5.Soy products – have been shown to disrupt hormone levels and negatively affect the thyroid.
I'm thinking of joining, not that I have a lot of weight to drop, but ideas for recipes and someone to ask questions to... might help.0 -

You can get that here for free so why pay?0 -
I joined the "Beyond Diet" and found it very helpful. She does advocate all organic food and it can be very expensive. I found many recipes that were good. It seems pretty difficult or even impossible to followt 100% but it gives many ideas on how to eat healthy. I think it was worth the money.0

First I apologize to anyone that might be upset by me commenting as a first timer. I'm not here to encourage anyone to use any particular program.
I've been reading through the posts here and I see several people saying that the only way to lose weight is to count your calories and burn more than you eat. Can someone explain why they think that is the only way to lose weight?
1.) You cannot possibly be healthy without some consideration to the types of foods you eat.
2.) High calorie foods would restrict a person to much smaller portions per day than healthier lower calorie food would.
If I decided to eat Twinkies until I reached my caloric quota and then did my exercise, surely that sugar high would not be a decent way to lose weight (if it worked.) How about Alcohol? I could chose to drink 4 glasses of Sangria tonight and skip dinner. That alcohol and sugar high is certainly not good for my liver.
I do make note of the graph that is included on MyFitnessPal each day that breaks down the types of calories I consume each day. I do believe it's important to have a balanced diet.
I think we all need to understand that some dieters need more support, encouragement, ideas recipes or help. For some would make a new program easier to follow if things were spelled out without the time spent searching the web. Lazy? Busy? Maybe. Everyone is different, their needs are different and no one diet is right for everyone.0 -
It's a combination of eating healthy and exercising. Like my Doctor told me "You can eat all the healthy food you want, but if there isn't a deficit of calories, you won't lose weight."0
-
No fried foods? Yeah, I can still be healthy without the diet. Health has much more involved than just by what you eat. Genetics, exercise, getting enough rest, predisposition to not getting disease, environment, and mental health are just some of the others. If a diet forbade me from eating food that I actually enjoy eating, then I'd resent that diet. And resent doesn't bring me any happiness, which happens to be another healthy marker.0
-
I think the recipes are good because they really take out the sugar and gluten. The ingredients to buy for them I found to be extremely expensive in these hard times. One loaf of sprout grain bread was 4.50 and Walnut butter was 12.00. Almond flour was 6.50 I like the recipes but I cant afford them.0
