I know the obvious things I should put in, tomato paste & sauce, but what else or spices should I use?
Pre made sauce has too much sodium.

Just make it wish fresh tomatoes, fresh basil, fresh oregano, garlic, pepper in a magic bullet or food processor. Tomato paste isn't really necessary.0

Oregano, or Italian seasoning0

How about Italian seasoning or oregano, garlic, onion, and basil... They usually taste yummy0

Try pesto sauce and fresh mini-bell peppers, sliced onions/ tomatoes/mushrooms and little fresh mozzarella to hold it all together ...mmmm0

Here is my pizza sauce recipe.
3 garlic cloves, minced
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 (29 ounce) can tomato puree
1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Saute the garlic in oil for a minute or two and then add the remaining ingredients. Simmer 15-20 minutes on low-med.0 -
i use hummus, or chilli sauce or whatever as a base. to make my own i'd blitz fresh or tinned tomatoes with garlic, herbs, a little olive oil and try and make sure it was thick enough to spread0
