1440 and 1728. No wonder I need to be on 1200 kcals to lose weight.
Wouldn't you lose weight by eating between your BMR and TDEE? I usually end up eating a bit above my BMR and still lose weight unless I've exercised a lot, then I eat more. I make it a point to not to go below the BMR.

yes you are right! eating below your BMR is dangerous!! you are just slowing your metabolism even more! 1200 cals? yikes! eat!
You will not necessarily slow your metabolism by eating below BMR. If you have fat stores, your body does not need to get all it's fuel from food.
Thank you! I totally agree.0 -
Bmr is 1200 but I'm only 5 ft :P jealous of everyone with much higher bmrs!
My tdee is 1500 before exercise. After exercise its usually around 20000 -
My BMR is 1550, not sure about my TDEE though.0

BMR is about 1250, TDEE per BodyMedia is about 2250. I lost eating between 1650 and 1850, so I think those numbers are pretty close. Maintaining between 2100 and 2300.0

my BMR is 1365.64 and my TDEE is 2355.720

BMR - 1886
TDEE - 2742 (Exercise is included in my activity level)0 -
2400 BMR, 3400-3700 TDEE, Depends on how much I am at my desk working!0

I am 5'3", 159.
My TDEE is 2300 (I calculate calories burned during workouts), and my BMR is about 1400. I eat 1800...puts me right smack in the middle where I need to be, I work out at least 30 minutes a day, 6 times a week. On days off of work I walk 2-3 miles at the dog park on top of the 30 minutes (weight lifting or cardio).0 -
According to a handful of online calc my BMR is 1730 +/- but my TDEE varies since everyone has a different version of being active - lowest I found was 2400. Im reluctant to actually EAT 1730 (set to 1650 atm) cause I am cautious about my age factoring in. What can I say, it feels counterintuitive to eat so much in order to lose weight0

Using the calculations on http://www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/bmr/ - and depending on which formula you follow, my BMR is either 1801 or 1479. My TDEE is 2161.... because I really am THAT sedentary.
I aim for TDEE - 30% (1513) due to my BMI calculation. And I will adjust to closer to TDEE - 20% as I lose weight. But I'm having difficulty getting to 1500 right now.0 -

Works short term. But you better take a multivitamin and don't go past a few months. Karma is a b... when you try to reverse the damage. a nice gain of 10 - 15 lb isn't uncommon.0
