If you absolutely had to pick........- no time, didn't prepare, nothing at the store, nothing in the car, on the road- whatever excuse you can think of- ................ would you grab something quick from a fast food restaurant OR eat a Lean Cuisine frozen meal?
(We're having a debate at work because I would rather have a McDonalds chicken salad oppposed to a frozen Lean Cuisine)

Fast food.
You can find decent choices and IMO, it would taste better than Lean Cuisine.0 -

I'd go with 2 of their grilled chicken sandwiches, toss the bun.0 -
Toss the bun, get the chicken. Lean quisine are high in sodium. They're both defiantly not good. You should invest in protein bars for when your in a hurry.0
-
Depends on what I feel like. There are decent choices at McDonald's. There are Lean Cuisine meals that are quite tasty (the butternut squash ravioli with all the little matchstick veggies? oh, man--I'll be eating that when I don't need to lose weight!).0
-
I would have to eat two or three Lean Cuisine Meals, which is WAY too expensive. For fast food, it depends. I hate McDonald's and Burger King, but I will eat Arby's, Taco Bell, Sonic, or Wendy's.0
-
As a vegetarian, frozen all the way. The veggie fast food options tend to be cheese heavy and good protein light.0
-
We have some markets here that you can get sandwiches pretty fast (not like subway, real fresh produce, local bread and fresh shaved meats). So I would pick that. And I do, once a week at least. Mmmmmm.0

Lean Quisine - IMO.
I'm slow sometimes....but can you tell me what IMO means?? LOL! (SORRY) :blushing:0 -
I think my concern with extra "additives" etc.... makes me a little leary of Lean Cuisine AND YES, I know there are additives in a mcdonalds salad but not so much in the lettuce tomato and carrot shavings part of the salad...... I had a delicious Lean Cuisine last night- I literally woke up late yesterday morning- ran to church- went to the gym- went shopping- went to a baby shower- went to birthday gathering - and was getting home about 8:30pm and had to eat something quick fast NOT TO MENTION I WAS EXHAUSTED, and I was debating another McDonalds something or a lean cuisine that had been in my freezer for awhile.
I'm totally talking about a meal and I never will, or never have, done "meal replacements" I'm trying to lose weight because I've had a hot steamy love affair with food all throughout my 30's so I'm not going to have a protein bar or shake for dinner- I need something I savor and enjoy! No negotiating with that- I may be trying to lose weight and get healthy but I'm not giving up my happiness for anything
I really just liked seeing other people's opinions......So thank you!!!! :flowerforyou:0 -
LOL...IMO is In My Opinion.
I would pick the fast food if those were my only two options. Grilled chicken, no bun, and a small salad.0 -

Chicken Bacon no mayo with mustard and a side salad with a light dressing, Yum.0
-
I'd get some apple slices from McDonald's and just eat more when I got home0
-
Grilled Chicken salad from McDonalds (I like the cashew teriyaki salad with grilled chicken) . It has veggies, protein, and is quite filling.
I'm not a big fan of Lean Cuisine, it's always a small portion of really over sauced, over salted, crap.0 -
Whichever fit my goals better. Sometimes that might be Lean Cuisine, sometimes a Baconator.0

Wendy's chili.0

Whatever fits my macros for the day better.0
-
fast food. No bun0
-
Fast food for me! Cooked for you, hot, no washing up and probably more satisfying and tasty than a Lean Cuisine! Might as well make the most of it!0
-
Depends on how many calories I have and what time of day it is.
Mcdonalds would definitely have more calories. If it's late and I can afford it, I'll go with that. If it's late and I can't afford if or if it's early I'd go for the lean cuisine. They generally don't have more than a few hundred calories per meal, whereas a six piece mcnugget can have the same calories as the lean cuisine meal.0 -
Nothing wrong with an occasional fast food burger/sandwich.0
-
I realize this isn't an option, but when I'm in that boat I pick up a rotisserie chicken and add some veg at home.0
-
I have not stepped foot in ANY fast food restaurant in at least 3 or 4 years. When I made the commitment to myself I banned them from my existance.
When pressed for something "quick" I will pop to the grocery store, they all have a deli area where you can get a sensible sandwich, or if you are like me and don't eat bread you can opt for a salad, bag of little carrots and some lean chicken breast, etc. There are lots of good options.
There is typically a grocery store every few blocks so stay away from that fast food as there are a LOT of other much healthier options out there!0 -
Subway, Chick Fil A, SaladWorks or Panera Bread's salads/sandwichs - just watch the dressings. They all have grilled chicken options, and salad is, well, salad. Given my job, I've learned better how to eat on the run and it can definitely be done properly. Look at the nutrition charts before you go in, and it makes it a whole lot simpler to order.0

fast food IMO, I love McDonalds southwestern salad without chicken and only 1/2 the pack of dressing, only about 170 calories I think0
-
Personally, I would always choose the salad instead, but either leave off any dressing altogether, or only use half of the dressing. (but then, I love salads without dressing). The sodium is bound to be less than in a Lean Cuisine, you get more food in general, so you'll be more full, and you have control over what's on it, i.e., you can remove cheese/meat that you don't want, and modify/leave off dressings/toppings.
I also like a small chili from Wendy's with no cheese. VERY occasionally I will get a grilled chicken with no mayo and leave off the bun, but the salads are generally more satisfying for me.
If it fits in my calories for the day, though, I will indulge with something a little more from fast food, but usually no more than once a month. It just doesn't always taste that good to me now.0 -
at 8:30 pm?
Souvlaki
or
minestrone
(gee we have good take away food choices in Melbourne (Aus)
btw these are not from chains, they are small local shops
never McDonalds, never

^^This.
I will eat a bigmac if it fits my macros, and if I want one. Other times, I go for a lean cuisine. I don't make a habit of it though.
I also agree with carrying protein bars if you are in a crunch.0
