Week 7 for T.H.E team here. We're starting fresh every week. We keep working hard to get where we want to be. Loosing weight and getting in shape is not a diet. Here we come to terms with that. It's a lifestyle change. One that we take day by day. We set small goals that can be accomplished and when we meet them we feel proud and we support one another. We allow ourselves to "mess" up. That's life. We as humans make mistakes. Our new threads usually start on Tuesdays. We check in on Fridays and through out the weekend we can talk about our losses or our gains. Tell us why you loss, or why you gained. Let us support you, as we support each other. We laugh, and we joke around but we're always there. Some of the best support that I have in my life is from the girls in this group. This is pretty much our mission statement I guess you could say.

Every week new people join the group. It always nice to see new members to the site, and of course older ones who stop in from time to time to say hello. We do what we can to help each other. There's always lots of ideas, and great advice going through these threads.

This is how we check in...

Remember you don't have to check in until Friday unless your check in day is different and you want to share on a different day, that's completely fine.

This is our check in results from an older thread. It's just an example.
Copy the list while adding yourself to the bottom.

jjtonic75 sw 206.8 gw 155.0 cw 164.4 gained .2

cw=current weight
+ or - for the week.

I post the link to the new thread every Tuesday on Facebook. So if you have it and want a reminder let me know and I'll add you. Lot of us communicate on FB also.

Some tips... summer is coming along fast. I know today we were in the 80's. So remember to drink your water. I found this great article about water drinking and weight loss. http://www.freedieting.com/drinking_water.htm

Remember to eat also. I know I know... there's great debate on this but for any new member or old member who hasn't read it, I highly recommend reading this thread. It explains a lot about eating your exercise calories. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/10589-for-those-confused-or-questioning-eating-your-exercise-calo

I think that's all I have to say. I hope everyone has a great week, and look forward to checking in on Friday......

OK... fell off the wagon here...thanks for the FB reminder kelly. The message pinged my phone and as Im sitting here eating ice cream (and now feeling guilty for it!! LOL) I decided Id better come on and see what everyone is up to. I was doing really well and then life just happened and hasnt stopped. Ive been in the midst of planning my hubbys 40th birthday celebration and my oldest daughters graduation party. We are expecting about 40 people for his party and 100 for my daughters, so my house is getting a thorough once over including the garage in case the yucky wet/cold weather we have gotten doesnt go away. I havent had much time to get my meals planned out the way I was, so Im not losing. I also got a visit from the Aunt yesterday... so I honestly havent really looked since last week. Im sure Id just be irritated if I do it now, so I'll wait till she packs her bags and leaves..

Got really irritated while I was out today looking for something cute to wear for my daughters upcoming graduation events. I couldnt find ANYTHING cute that fit the way I wanted it to. Im just so mad that things that fit right last year, are NOT fitting right this year. So mad in fact, that I signed my daughter up at the gym just so she motivate me to go with her... HAHAHA!!!! I dont normally have a problem getting there, but the past couple weeks have been hard trying to even find time!

Kelly... congrats on your BMI!!! That is awesome!!! Great job!!! I also  your thread starts!! Starting over sounds like just what I need..... again!! :ohwell:

Kristi.....HEY!! LTNS!! How the heck are ya girl!? Glad to have you back!!

Oh, that's good, pawprint, putting it on facebook like that. I can't "forget" now cuz I check the status' of my FB friends nearly every day.

Been doing a lot better at not eating a bunch of junk (some lapses, but better than I'd been) and have been listening to my body about when it's hungry and when it's not. Not great for family dinner time, but healthier for me. I'm not back at the gym yet and don't plan on it until school's out and I have a somewhat consistent schedule. Hubby's work has been busy and I've been busy with my ghost hunting but I've been trying to eat good while out all night too, even make my team drink their water and eat a little granola bar or something to keep their energy up. :)

Thanks for keeping this going, pawprint, you are TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!

I am such a loser!! And I don't mean losing weight. My motivation sucks! I have a goal but am doing NOTHING to acheive it! I am just so close to just quiting. I feel like I am wasting space. I just don't get why I can't find that zeal for losing the weight I did this time last year. I've kept off 25 lbs of what I lost last year which is a good thing I just want to lose another 25. I feel like I'll never make it though. Sorry to have wasted your time trying to encourage me.

Losingit4good-Hang in there. Remember why we are doing this in the first place. We want to feel better in our own skin. The next time you pick up that Ice Cream think about what you really want. The saying is, "Nothing tastes better than how skinny feels." You can do this and that is why we are here. To help each other out.

    Deb,
YOU ARE NOT A LOSER!!!!!!!! No one here is. We all have our moments, and unfortunately you are having yours now. That is why you are here. We want to help you through this. DON'T GIVE UP ON YOURSELF. YOU DESERVE BETTER!!! Please remember why you are doing this. You have already lost 25 pounds and have kept it off, that is AWESOME!!! That is so hard to do and you have done it. You only have 25 to go. I know you can do it. Find something to keep you motivated. Maybe this, the next time you see your daughter you want to have lost 5 pounds. So, set a goal for each time she is coming home. So you can surprise her with what you have been doing. Put signs up on your fridge and mirrors to keep you motivated. Encouraging words like: YOU CAN DO IT!!! YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL AND DESERVE IT!!! Things to that nature. I just don't want you to give up on yourself. Please keep us updated on how you are doing.

losingit-Sounds like you have some fun parties coming up. Way to go for signing your daughter up. Now you have a partner to go with you. Hang in there. You will find some clothes, and when this is all over you'll love the way you look..... it's a work in progress just remember that.

Amboo-We always check in once a week. We like to do it on the same day so that every one can see, and they don't get lost in all the thread replies.

Pipedoctor-Way to go on making the change.... junk food is bad, but eaten here and there and small amounts is ok. It's more mental I think lol. I think a lot of people have that problem with junk food. Some people are bored. Who knows, but welcome

Adopt-Great to have you back. How's the ghost hunting going? What kinds of places do you go to?

Crazybee---Ya know this is a support group right? OK, well right now I feel like kicking your butt. Seriously... .woman stop being so negative. You have come so far... why would you just just give up and throw it all away. Last summer you were in a different place emotionally and physically. This year, your lighter, and emotionally way different. Look at what's been going on with the kids.... They are growing up and leaving the nest basically. I'm sure that's hard on you, I know it's hard on you because you've said it was. So you can't just expect it to be as easy as it was last summer. How are the new medicines working for you? I don't want to sound mean, but don't give up. When I first started this, you were an inspiration to me, and you still are. Now stop being so negative and down about it...... take it one day at a time

Well gang, I completed my 5 day ab workout last night. I get to take tonight and tomorrow off. I also did the walk at home work out last night, but I only did a mile. But it was very low impact and nice. I'm going to be burning a ton of calories this week. Warmer weather means more dogs which means more work.... we still have a ton of puppies so that right there is a bunch of work. Aiming to start cutting back my pop again. I was doing great and then bam I slipped somewhere.... I can do it. I'm not real worried about it, but i would like to try and get it cut back. So today is the first day. We'll see.

You can do it. In all actuality, soda makes you more thirsty with all the sugar. My boss is stuck on Root Beer and I am doing everything I can to get her to stop. She has been drinking more water and she said she can feel a huge difference. It is all willpower and why you want to do this in the first place. YOU CAN DO IT!!!

I honestly don't feel the difference. I don't get sugar rushes and then crash or anything like that. The more water I drink, the more thirsty I get. I drink a pop and I'm good to go for several hours.... I dunno, I don't feel like I have more energy. I went months and months with out pop and all I got was the headaches from lack of caffeine. That's the main reason why I started drinking it again.

Thanks for the words of encouragement ladies. I really do appreciate it.

Life has just been a little crazy and nuts here. It will all calm down by the end of June. Hubby is working a convention in Las Vegas the last week of June, so my daughter and I will be going down to hang out for 4 days and have some fun. She's never been ANYWHERE except Mexico with her youth group and shes not old enough to drink or gamble in the casino's (she's 18 1/2) so we'll be doing other fun stuff instead... (shopping, roller coasters, more shopping..LOL). Lots of walking involved Im sure. I am really looking forward to going to the gym with her. She is very athletic and we can kick each others butts. LOL She cant start up there right away because she has a medical issue and her Dr told her yesterday "no running until its under control". Its not serious tho, so hopefully by next week she will have clearance to go. To add her was cheaper than normal due to some specials going on, so we went ahead and did it. She wants to build more muscle for cross country so she can woop behind in college this fall. :0)

It really is easy to beat yourself up for things isnt it? My mom put it into perspective for me real good last night. I am flying her up for my daughter graduation and she hasnt seen me in over 1 1/2 years. She told me she was really looking forward to seeing what I look like now, which is still considerably different from the last time. I may be 10lbs heavier than I was last year... but Im still 30lbs lighter and 3 sizes smaller than I was when she last saw me, so THAT is what is keeping me going at the moment.

I had a bad junk food day yesterday but its because Im PMSing and had a bad busy day. I know that sounds like and excuse.. its not.. its just how it went down and boy what an eye opener logging my food was yesterday! :noway: Today is definitely different. I made the EFFORT this morning to start my day with a good healthy breakfast so that, I know, will keep me in check the rest of the day. Its funny how that works with me. Im finally going to finish up the garage today. I made 4 trips to the goodwill yesterday and have 1 more today. I have about 7 totes to sort through still and organize but otherwise it is CLEAN and ORGANIZED for a change! I am so excited!!

Deb, don't give up!! You know that giving up is not what you want. I know its not easy... if it were, we wouldnt need MFP or each other to keep us going. If I can do this... YOU can do this. DO NOT GIVE UP! You do what you can, when you can and it is what it is! Just that you have been able to maintain is a HUGE thing and I give you A LOT of credit for being able to do so. We all have our weak moments, but thats what we are here for! I am slowly realizing that my success at this is far greater than any failure WHEN I keep going at it! JJ is right... hang up notes to remind you of your goals. They really DO work!

I guess I should clarify.... If I drink dark pop I feel ucky. If I drink clear pop I'm fine. I usually drink mountain dew... I drank some coke tonight and I feel sick now... I hate how rough my stomach feels afterward. But hubby brought it home for me.... and of course I forgot to tell him to get me tea instead.... oh well. I'm drinking extra water today anyways... I feel like I need a "flush"

Summer Challenge.... Some of you know from previous threads that we do challenges every once in a while. The last one I think we had was for Valentines day. So here's a new one...

The first official day of Summer is June 21st... About 4 weeks away....
I'm wanting to lose 4 pounds.... that will bring me down to 130 even..... I know funny number but I would like to get to 130 because that is actually a mini goal of mine. That would be about 38 pounds lost total for me...

    Who else is in?

I also have another challenge but this one isn't about loosing weight. This one is about having fun... I want everyone to try something new this summer. It could be anything but it has to be something fun and something you want to do... something more than trying a new food or something simple like that.... Let's have some fun this summer....

Hey, gang how are you all?

I have been doing very well eating for two whole days! Celebrate the small successes, right? :drinker:
So, since I got back on MFP, lost 2 pounds. Updating my ticker in a minute. Just a little update on what I've been up to. Back in November, my boss was fired, and I took his responsibilities on in addition to mine. I started working 12 and 13 hour days, and have been doing that ever since. In March, I got the actual promotion I was working for, so I am now the director. During that time, I have really lost my balance so to speak - no exercise, eating not great, not enough to gain weight, but not great. And NO FUN! So, I am definitely in for the do something fun challenge. I would like to lose 10 pounds between now and June 21st. I think I can do that, though my weight has really fluctuated for the past six months while I have struggled with a weird health problem. I've been on a medication that has really screwed up my metabolism - because I am not metabolizing potassium very well. So, I am now taking a boat load of potassium trying to replenish my levels. If it doesn't change in a couple of weeks, my doc is sending me to a kidney specialist to see what's up. Hope we can avoid that. We'll see. Anyway, that's me for the last six months. I have been as much as 20 pounds lighter than I am right now, but most of that was due to severe dehydration - thanks to the meds. So, I am back on track, and by the end of the summer - gonna lose some significant weight! Nice to see you all here again, and hi to folks who got involved while I was off track.

Count me in! I will also shoot for 4lbs by June 21st. That will put me at 214 and 2lbs away from where I was last year when I pretty much fell off the exercise wagon. I WILL be good to go back to the gym by Thursday this week. Id say I would go tomorrow but I have way too much going on and I know how I am about hitting the gym in the evenings, which is when I might possibly have time. I may need ya to dig out the padded slipper on me... but count me in!

As for having fun... Im game for that as well. With the busy summer months ahead, Im sure I'll find something new to do. :0)

Kristi, its so great to have you back!! Sounds like you have been one busy woman!! Will pray that your medical stuff works out for you. Maybe coming back will help some with that?

Today was not such a great day for me. It was an emotional one. I got up this morning and went with my oldest to her Mother/Daughter senior tea. I made the mistake of not eating breakfast at home and of course the only thing to eat there was a little cheese, some crackers and TONS of cookies!! It was a tea party aimed more at the diet of an american teenager.. LOL
Anyway...It sorta sunk in during the first 5 minutes of the event that my daughter is growing up, becoming a wonderful young lady and I had to choke back tears pretty much the whole time... blaming my allergies so I wouldnt embarass her in front of all her friends and classmates. I guess I didnt really think that much about it before today. She's attending college locally so its not like shes going anywhere soon, but I've been so focused on planning events around her graduation that it just hit me and I wasnt prepared for it to effect me this way. I ate WAY too many cookies and sucked down way too much coffee, then...didnt eat for the rest of the day until dinner when I made spaghetti. Then I royally pigged out on spaghetti... :embarassed: I can't even begin to calculate calories today... so...Not my best day, but Im over it now.

Tomorrow morning Im heading to the gym first thing so I can get it out of the way for the day. Im planning to rip a ton of calories there.... get things going and I have a healthy Salmon dinner planned.

    See ya tomorrow!

I did pretty good eating yesterday. Had a small bowl of cereal for breakfast then an egg sandwich for lunch and dinner. But I did have 2 cookies at bible study last night. Oh an a bag of popcorn on my break at work. It's not good but it's not near as bad as I had been doing.

The next 6 weekends are going to be HORRIBLE. I have a dinner with my sons fiance's parents and the pastor who is going to marry them, a baby shower for a co-worker, a bridal shower, one weekend has a bachlorette party and a friends wedding and a graduation party and grand daughter birthday party. Then my sons wedding. FOOD EVERYWHERE!!! Please pray for me I am soooo going to need it.

Thanks for the encouragement girls. I still feel real down about the weightloss but I haven't totally given up. I will try to find joy in losing weight. I need to get to the point of wanting to track my food again.

My prayer for you all is that you find joy in tracking your food. Motivation to excercise. And the thrill of losing weight on weigh in day!!!

Cyndi, thanks! Its really good to be back! I feel like I am finally doing something to take charge of my life, so - even though its only been a few days, it makes a huge difference in my attitude. Imagine that.:blushing: Its a little frustrating when I know so much more about how to take care of myself than I actually do.... But like you said, yesterday is over, and today is a new day!

Bee - I hear the frustration in your post! So, since you can't avoid all the food related occasions, and really who would want to? Sounds like good times with people you love celebrating important milestones in life. So, maybe all you have control over is what you think about all that - and how you approach it. So, celebrate it, and enjoy the good food, just make sure you plan around it and you figure out how to moderate what you eat. Maybe that's a healthy snack before you go, or a friend at the event you can be open with that you can ask to help you steer clear of over-indulgence? In any event, I am pretty confident you will figure it out. You're not the kind of gal that lets things keep her down!

Well, I am needing to try to get back on the exercise gig, so off I go. Take care friends, and remember, WE CAN DO THIS!!!

Okay y'all I went yesterday with no pop. It's killing me. The only way that I can get through this is to drink mass crystal light. I went through 3 water bottles alone yesterday with it. It's the taste factor that I miss the most, plus the caffeine. But I drink the pure fitness stuff, and I love it. I feel an extra boost. I did a little readjusting to my calories. I think it might help me. I looked at my settings and it had me burning way way too many calories on a daily basis. There for my calorie limit was way up there and then when I add in my work out I have to consume even more... so I adjusted it.... I don't burn mass calories every single day. We'll see.

It is amazing how time flies by and you don't even realize it. At least, like you said, she is going to school close to home.

On a good note, you did notice your bad choices for the day and know to fix them for today. That is what this new lifestyle is all about. Learning from our little ooooppppssss. We all have them. I hope you are having a nutritious day toda.
