I can't access the full study. What type of fat were they feeding the rats. If it is the one I am thinking of they were using an unnatural food source. This could get into a pretty long thread filled with all kinds of study links debating either side of the argument though.

I would also like to know this.

What's your specific question? In my opinion, a high fat diet is an useful tool to shred weight when beeing overweight.

For heavy lifting, especially bodybuilding, the power of the right carbs should be used.

Why would a high fat diet be any more effective than any other diet holding cals and protein constant?

In my experience, lower carb, higher fat gives me a better feeling for satiation.

Different studies on humans show, when going down with carbs, the daily calorie intake automatically decreases.

But, as stated above, when lifting weights, sprinting etc., carbs are a great fuel.

what am i to draw from this? that i would put on significantly more fat if i was gaining weight on a low carb diet than if i was gaining weight otherwise?

let's see a study of body composition of rats given a calorie deficit and on ketogenic diets.

There's already plenty of human studies showing no significant differences in fat loss between low carb/keto diets and other diets holding protein and cals constant

Specifically, I was unable to interpret the graphics that were posted.

I keep my macros at 45/20/35 and that seems to be working well for me. I don't know if 35% fat is considered high or low, but I based it off the 0.35/lb guideline.
