i've decided i need to just suck it up and start a home gym. i am not getting where i want to be just by doing the little bit of exercise i am.... and i have 3 girls that i have to make sure are safe. lol.
i found a picture of myself after i had my second daughter. i was able to go to the gym every day at that point and i took full advantage of that. this time around, i just can't do it! my husband works odd hours, the gym that i WAS going to changed their childcare policy.... you now have to pay for the child to go.
what do y'all have in your home gym? need some ideas!
here's the picture that i found! and this was about 4 months after she was born!

I've added a couple of kettlebells and sandbags since then, and my yoga mats and bosu have to stay in the house because of the dogs.
Most of my equipment was bought off Craigslist. Some of it I made myself (the 20lb medicine ball and the indian clubs you can't really see).0 -
I have a bench, bar, plates, plate load able dumbbells and a rack. I also have a treadmill. We also have a stationary bike I don't use, really and we have a heavy bag and a speed bag that I could, but don't, use. I also have videos and YouTube access.0

A pull-up bar and a couple of kettlebells. All I need extra to that is my own bodyweight.
Edit: oh - and my sticky mat and incense burner for my Yoga sessions!0 -
A treadmill, weight bench, punching bag, exercise ball, dumbbells0

My Weslo treadmill bit the dust so in order to save money, I've started doing workout videos. In the process, I pulled out an old aerobics step that came with a Tamilee Web VHS tape. I have two five lb dumbbells, a stability ball that I plan on using with "Supreme 90", a bicycle that I bought a few years back, workout videos, ankle weights and two workout mats. In my mind I said I don't need to spend money on a new treadmill since I have the equipment below. Use what I already have and save money!
1. Aerobics step
2. Two 5 lb dumbbells
3. Stability ball
4. Bicycle (for outside when it gets warm)
5. Workout videos
6. Ankle weights
7. Two workout mats0 -
i am in the process of putting mine together. we are waiting to sell our pool table and tax money. i have an old big screen tv and an elliptical so far. but with the extra space with the pool table gone, i plan to get a stationary bike and treadmill. i also want a floor mat. i want to get a ball and other items to use on the mat. and were going to replace the tv with a flat screen for on the wall. i want to be able to hook up my laptop to it and try out workout videos on you tube.
i go to the gym now. but i took on a full time job with overtime. so its hard to stay committed going. i feel like im never home. i also work harder at home when im not being watched. at home i can strip down and draw the curtains and no one will see me in a sports bra. and im an early person and would like to get my cardio done before work. the hours at the gym dont work well for me.
shop craigslist for things to add to your gym. i got an awesome elliptical very very cheap. good luck!0 -
