The politics of gifts are just too obnoxious. Not worth it. And I like physical touch with the right people, but I don't equate it with love because I think an awful lot of people just like the touch without the love. Words of affirmation are nice but they often make me uncomfortable. Quality time is wonderful but I'm also a loner... so Acts of Service it is! The way to my heart? Go out of your way to make my life easier or more enjoyable! I guess it makes sense, considering I've been a single mom for the past 20 years.0 -
I read that book last year. Interesting ideas for sure.0

Interesting quiz, thanks for sharing! I'm:
11 Quality Time
7 Physical Touch
6 Words of Affirmation
6 Acts of Service
0 Receiving Gifts
My results for Number 1 and 2 were unexpected. But the part about gifts being meaningless to me was very accurate. Frankly, gifts often make me feel guilty about the wasted resources and obligatory false gratitude. My family usually "gifts" each other with charitable donations instead0 -
8 Words of Affirmation
8 Quality Time
3 Receiving Gifts
8 Acts of Service
3 Physical Touch
Evidently I'm high maintenance :huh:0 -
words of affirmation followed closely by physical touch.0

Just did this quiz with the hubs a few weeks back...mine is Acts of service...his is physical touch and quality time..
It's amusing really...cuz I'm working two jobs right now so I legit get excited to come home and see the dishes done...when I find a mess, I get sad and just go to bed. Now if I wasn't sad and heading to bed all grumpy, I'd probably be more in the mood for some quality time..
It's a good read for any couple, IMO.
Haha!! We are in the same boat!!! : )0 -
Has anyone else got a '12'? I see lots of 9's and a few 10/11's but no 12's. I got a 12 for quality time!
Bout 9, 9 n a half
Physical touch or acts of service?0 -
I'm hard to please. I want all five. The test confirmed this: all 6s, apart from a 5 for receiving gifts and a 7 for acts of service.
I hated that the test assumed that my husband doesn't do anything around the house without being asked. He easily does his share.0 -
I already knew before I took the test. Physical Touch.0

A lot of people seem to be down on people who like gifts. Bear in mind that they don't have to be expensive gifts. I get a warm fuzzy feeling every time my husband picks up a pretty pine cone or sea shell and gives it to me when we are out walking. I don't keep them and he doesn't expect me to, but I love the affection of the gesture. I still remember fondly the home-made valentine's day cake (crumbly chocolate cake with bright red icing) that he gave me in our first year together. Giving gifts to the people I love is also important to me.0

Mine is Acts of Service, husband's is Words of Affirmation/Physical Touch.
We just have to put extra effort in to speak each other's language. Works out okay, though.0 -

7 Physical Touch
I think that fits me pretty well.0 -
Physical touch
Quality time
The rest score low. I don't believe people, so words of affirmation many times feel like lies, gift giving stresses me out, and acts of service is my job, so I get paid for it. Love is free... or so they say (bullcrap).0 -
I've read the book before, so the quiz results didn't surprise me at all. My husband's are almost identical. We're lucky that way.
9 Physical Touch
8 Quality Time
6 Words of Affirmation
5 Acts of Service

I'm lucky as hubby helps out loads round the house. He's a good melon!0 -
Took the quiz again just to see.
Discovered that the wording needs to be changed if your relationship is good because a lot of those things I don't "wish for" or "want more of" because I already get what I need/want.
Here are my results though.
11 Physical Touch
10 Quality Time
5 Acts of Service
4 Words of Affirmation
0 Receiving Gifts0
