I was a medical assistant until I was spending more in daycare than I was making. I worked in internal med. and loved all my pt's. Can't wait to get back to it!!

To all the health info technologist, is that a good field to get into? I'm looking for something with less patient care. Right now I'm in a zincography program but I saw the pre reqs for HIT and I feel like I can knock that out in a yr. Thanks...

Great field but highly competitive- meaning it's hard to land a job. Lots of opportunities with electronic medical records/health informatics/IT type positions opening up but still pretty competitive. At least that's how it is in Florida.

Working as an MA and taking prereqs to get into an RN program at a community college, then applying to grad school and becoming a NP.

Edit: Oops, obviously I'll also get my BSN at a CSU or UC before applying for grad school :P
