MFP Members and Tattoos

I have 4 tattoos! All have been spontaneous-spur-of-the-moment ones, and I have no regrets0

I have 10 (so far).. Ive been forbidden to get anymore work done until my husband can finish up his arm lol. It's ok though... I can wait. The next piece I have in mind is rather large and I would rather wait until I lose the weight and save it as my goal reward because of the placement. But this was my last large piece, but not my last tattoo... I've had two done on my feet since.
My others are my 17 y/o son's name on my back, my name over my heart, a butterfly with my husbands name underneath on my ankle, a butterfly on my neck behind my ear, a butterfly on my right foot (matching BFF tats), five flower chain on my other arm (one for each one of my sons), cherry blossoms on my left foot, star gazer lillies & water design on side of left calf, and swirly heart design on the back of my neck.0 -

I am new here and still looking around, but I have to tell you, I am really amazed by the number of MFP members who have tattoos.
Myself included, so no judgements implied.
 Tribal (with my identifiable motifs), small and subtle at an inconspicuous location <= Seriously considering it, for I'm pressed to continue with my tradition only tweaked (which was more about the man's tribal and personalised markings inked on to his woman as a show of ownership and jurisdictional property to his person).0 -
I currently have 6! I want one on my ribs but that will be when I hit my goal weight0
-
I have 6 right now... full sleeve booked for november, two more before summer. As I reach a goal i get a decided tattoo... some reward themselves with twinkies... i get ink =D0

Do they hurt??
If tattoos didn't hurt, every pu55y would have one.
haha. This! Love it!0 -
I agree with the person who said that it may just be more noticeable because of how we take our pics on here. I worked with someone for a couple years that never knew I had tattoos until he saw me in a tank top instead of scrubs. I have over half my back covered and look forward to losing weight so that I can display it without worry of back fat showing.0

Have lots planned, just been waiting to lose a bit of weight and get some money together. A question for those knowledgeable though, can you tattoo over stretch marks? If you can does it affect the quality?0
-
5 right now, with plans for 3 more   :bigsmile:0

I just got my first on Thursday! (at 40 years old, no less!) I'm pretty sure it won't be my last! It's not finished yet, I get color at the next sitting!
Ooooh the shoulder hurt the most though, but I love that I can see it!

My husband is a tattooist, I get them for free so it's hard not to fill up my skin.0

Do they hurt??
In a really good way0 -
Tats are great motivation to keep your body in good shape - I have a low back tat (okay, yeah, tramp stamp) and I definitely don't want a "mom butt" underneath it.0

I have 10 tattoos!
Getting another next week.
I have a fox paw and tail on my boob. a giant eevee ( pokemon ) on my leg, a pokeball from pokemon on my foot. A large fox on my thigh ( takes up most my thigh! ) Another eevee on my right wrist, a fox on my left wrist.
And on my arm, I have 3 tattoos. A batman logo, a pikachu sleeping on top of it, and a large anchor for my grandad who passed away last week. ( and for my sea home )
not got amazing pics of many but heres the arm!

I got told that, apart from the skin being more fragile with big ones, it makes fine tattoo lines more likely to blow. But it's not impossible, so speak to the tattooist and choose your piece carefully.0 -
I am one0

Do they hurt??
noooooo not at all it feels like a unicorn licking you
Actually, I almost fell asleep while getting mine done. My artist says it's pretty common; the buzzing is like a massage.
im rubbish getting them, some places are ok, others sting like mad.....all hurt too much to sleep through haha
I almost fell asleep during one of mine as well, the artist had to keep talking to me lol
The back of my neck is my "naughty" spot... I spent the whole time my neck was done getting pretty friggin' hot. My artist got one hell of a good tip when it was finished :devil:0 -
That's a real nice choice for a first tattoo. Always pick something that makes you smile.
I'm going for my 5th tattoo soon, it's also going to have a "tree theme". Going to use some of my tax return on it, bills be damned!0 -
I've lost count.. haha both feet, ribs, left arm sleeve almost complete right arm sleeve, back, working on my right leg, inner lower lip, and the latest was 2 inner fingers (I really want my hands/palms done but its a job killer)0

I love my tattoos and am proud to show them off now0
