People with long hair - how do you sleep at night?

I either do a loose-ish top of head braid that I can direct over the top of my pillow at night or just pick up my hair, lay down, and drop my hair into the space above the pillow. I also wedge a second pillow between the mattress and bed frame to keep my hair from dropping over the edge of the mattress to hang toward the floor because that pulls. I'm a master tosser and turner but my hair stays pretty much out of my way.0

When I had very long hair, I would put it in a braid while sleeping.0
-
Gather it up on the very top of my head and secure with a large alligator clip. All very loosely because I can't stand to feel anything pulling.0

When I was in the hospital my Mom braided me hair on each side. that was comfortable for me and I could sleep.
Or you could go bald0 -
WITH IT IN A PILE ON TOP OF MEEEEE DOME.....0 -
I generally lay down horizontally0

im pretty lazy when it comes to my hair at night lol... i wash it and just go to bed on it lol, no drying it or putting it in a bun.. & i straighten it in the mornings0
-
I use a scrunchy thing (don't use ponytail holder...too tight) and pull it up in a pony on top of your head...No hump, and not uncomfortable either. Looks frightening, but that's for my husband to get over, haha!0

Loose bun, loose pony or half-pony0
-
loose braid and then straighteners first thing to iron out the kinks.0
-
I sleep on it and face the repercussions in the morning lol.0

Same as I did when my hair was short.....with one eye open.0

Every night!0 -
I have actually never thought of it, it doesn't bother me, sometimes I'll just pull it behind me if I'm sleeping on my side so I'm not on it but other than that I don't do anything different0
-
It's so annoying! I try o put it in a loose bun on the top of my head but it comes out and I ends up under my back, pulling my neck. If I make the bun tighter it just gives me a headache. I should just chop it but I don't wear short hair well.0
-
Just leave it down, then you can scoop it out of the way if need be. My hair is almost to my butt and has been for many years and I never sleep with it back for any reason.0

I never knew people had a problem sleeping with long hair?
I have long hair and I just sleep with it down...0 -
It doesn't bother me in the winter, but in the summer, I french plait it every night.
If my fiancé rolls on it, I kick him. Simples.0 -

Same here.
I've always had long hair and it's never bothered me much when I sleep. Bothers me more when I'm awake. I wear it down or in a ponytail to go to bed.0 -
Oooh, atop the head is a good idea. As is the bun. And anything that might save my waves for a second day is a-okay with me.
my daughter has really curly hair and i put several braids in it to encourage the wave.0 -
I don't understand, why can't you sleep with your hair just down??
My hair is very long and I don't do anything with it. I just get into bed, put my head on the pillow and...sleep :yawn:0 -

I'm a light sleeper and we always sleep with the ceiling fan on. So, either the fan blows the hair around my face which drives me nuts, I end up tangled in it, or my husband ends up rolling on it and wakes me up.
I pull it into a low pony and tuck it inside my shirt. The high, loose bun works pretty well too, but tends to fall out more for me on particularly restless nights.0 -
I sleep with my hair, on my head and wake up looking like a wild animal attacked me ! :drinker:0

What do you do with the hair?
My hair(mixed race) is hip length, so I generally comb and brush it out first, before loose plaiting it (higher setting) - one plait or pig tails. With pig tails, I leave the plaits down (I tend to tuck the ends in - no ties). If it's a one plait, I usually roll it into a bun atop my head and tuck it.
I sleep in the same position all night long, so I rarely ever mess it up in mid-sleep.0 -
I put my 24 inch hair in a loose pony tail over my shoulder. I have had long hair all my life and whether it is loose or tied I never have a problem with sleeping except , if my husband gets on my pillow and lays on it and I roll away. OUCH :noway:0

I sleep on my side and my husband sleeps next to me.. so I lift my hair up on the pillow and have it lay north of my head and hanging off the edge towards me so it isn't in his face. Of course my hair is down to my tailbone in length, so it's pretty long..
I do the same. I just hoist it above my head so it's up on the pillow and in the space between it and the headboard.0 -
I braid mine to avoid it getting too tangled.
It really isn't a major issue for me.0 -
Try a snood. That's kind of like a hair net, but not a ugly. They are really loose and keep hair out of the way.0

I do kind of a bow bun with my hairband in the middle - it's at the top of my head. It stays up pretty well, but does not pull on my hair. When I am oiling or deep conditioning, I French braid it, and I always sleep on a satin pillowcase.
I have waist length curly hair.0 -
I just Leave it down.. Or ill get a headache..0
