    Haven't learned much in 29 years of marriage - this is the sum total really...

    When a man says "fine" - he means fine.
    When a woman says "fine" - it means something isn't fine and you have to guess what it is.

    So "hey girlie" probably means "hello".

    put them together, and "hey girlie" therefore means, "hi, i was envisioning a series of events that you and i could participate in that would result in you coming to my apartment and disrobing in my bedroom, so i thought i would text you and get the ball rolling".

    i know.... the txt messaging speak is really hard to decipher sometimes.

    Like I think it was already said, if he said "Hey Girlie".......it means exactly what it says.

    Unlike the words that come out of most female's mouths, our speech contains no hidden subtext.
    We just don't have the brain functionality to deal with all that crap.

    I think the "girlie", is definitely a term of endearment. I don't know any straight guys who would use that one on a girl they weren't interested in.
