Hey Appleheads! Which apple is best?

I know my favorite apple is Golden Delicious taste wise (the yellow ones)

but there are sooo many different varieties of apples out there.... and i was wondering which one is the best one to eat and why? nutritionally based answers please =P

You can add your personal preference to taste if you want though too but please let me know its just a personal preference :laugh:

    I like red delicious best...I like the texture and the taste is never bad, never good. Other varieties are too hit or miss and more expensive.

    i love granny smith, but I can't eat them raw. I have to cook or microwave them because apples make my gums, tongue and throat itchy. It just started in the last couple of years and I really MISS raw apples!

    I really only like Granny Smith's. I'll mix it up once in a VERY great while, but I love the sweet-tart style of them.

    Honey crisp is my fav. But honestly, any crisp apple, if eaten with "side" of salted caramels is pretty much the best snack ever!

    I love the Pacific Rose ones but haven't been able to find them recently. Other than those either Gala or Red delicious. I only like the sweet ones!

    Honeycrisp. I only eat apples when those are in season.

    I heard a dad at the grocery store tell his kids that Red Delicious apples taste like yuck. Made me lol.

    I like the yellow in my smoothies and the golden delicious or a honey crisp as a snack with a little peanut butter.
