    My username is based on the band from the Muppet Show named Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem. (remember Animal?!) I was raised by hippie parents so naturally that was my favorite show :wink: When i used to play Rock Band and Guitar Hero that was the gaming nickname i came up with and it's stuck ever since.

    I'm Native American... My username is the name of a child that was in one of my summer daycare classes. His name means "Cold sun" in my traditional language (Kanien'kéha). It should actually be written with an upstress (Ioráhkwano). That's an uppercase "i," not a lowercase "L" by the way.

    It's pronounced yo-ROCK-kwa-no.

    You roll the R & emphasize 'rock', then you say the last 2 syllables quickly.

    it's what you get if you cross a neanderthal with a cro-magnon (Homo sapiens sapiens) Like how a liger is a lion + tiger.

    why?

    1. because I'm a palaeoanthropology nerd and palaeolithic people are cool, especially neanderthals, because short, large framed people are automatically cool*

    2. because from the neck downwards, my height, build/frame size and body proportions are more like neanderthals than Homo sapiens sapiens... BUT I have a vertical forehead, pointy chin and dome shaped cranium and I'm alive today so I'm definitely a Homo sapiens sapiens.

    3. According to my husband, I'm "the maximum amount of cute" because of the above (i.e. neanderthal body proportions + cro magnon face). While this might be the most peculiar definition of cute I've come across in my life, I'm not going to argue with him. it's nice to know that someone thinks I'm cute.

    4. because strong women are great and neanderthal women were probably the toughest and strongest women who ever lived

    5. There are some palaeoanthropologists who think that some groups of Europeans may have more than the 1-4% neanderthal DNA that has so far been found through genetic testing.... well if they're right it would bloody well explain why I can't buy bras that fit me because my band size is too big for my cup size due to having a mahoosive rib cage!!

    6. I'm eccentric and stopped caring what other people think about me and my eccentricities. You know that poem about the purple hat? Well I'm wearing my purple hat. And I applaud everyone else who is wearing theirs.


    *that doesn't mean people of other heights and frame sizes are not also cool.... all body types are great in their own way. I like my body and body type because it's mine. Spent too much time in my life hating myself, ain't got no time for that now!!

    mines boring......a nickname my cousin gave me when we were little because she couldn't say my full name (samantha). i was 18 when i first started using it as a username so i just keep it. makes people think im still young =]

    2 of my 3 bothers call me Rex... and have for years ... its short for T-rex because I have tiny little arms... well I am a tiny little person so my arms are the right size for my height but they always tease me when I ask for help getting things I can't reach. Add to that one day I was trying to reach something and couldnt because my head got in the way and I sat there struggling for 15 mintues and when the one asked me waht was going on I replied "cannot reach... I have a big head and little arms!"

    After that every reason for my needing their help was always "yeah yeah because your like a t-rex"... it is now my twitter name, my blog name, and my MFP user name.
