How much did you lose before somebody noticed?

I started off at 397, I have lost 32 lbs and no one has noticed!!0

At 20 lbs before anyone said anything or noticed. Now I'm 40 lbs down and they say I'm to skinny. LOL0

The first person to notice (or at least to say anything about it) did so a month or so after I started - so I'd say about 8lbs. My wife first actually said she noticed a couple weeks ago.0

I am at 18 pounds and no one has noticed. I think the bigger you are, the more you have to lose before people notice. It's disappointing, because you are working so hard, and starving to death. You just want someone to notice.
I think this is pretty true. I've gone down a size in pants but I can't even tell from looking in the mirror. Maybe if I kept wearing the too big pants then I might get some comments, but I went ahead and thrift shopped and pulled some old stuff out of storage. It would be unreasonable at this point to expect someone to notice 15 pounds, when I can't even see it. I'm sure when I hit the goal of 110 pounds lost then I will get some comments...0 -
13lbs down & nobody seems to notice! I carry my weight in my bottom half so maybe that is why ! baby pouch is going down & I notice it, so thats all that matters !! It would be nice if someone would take notice - oh well still going0

25 pounds!0

My grandma notices at 2 lbs. haha... she's a shark!0

People started noticing at 15, but they were close friends who felt comfortable commenting. I think sometimes people aren't sure and they don't want to make it seem like they are monitoring your weight. But typically for people that I'm not that close to and don't see often, they say something around 30 pounds off.0

A woman at the gym asked me if I had lost weight at the 12lb. mark; at that point I had gone from 147.5 to 135.5. Noblody else, but that may change when we can get out of winter clothes.0

I think if you have lost weight in the past and then regained it then other people will less likely say anything to you.
For me it becomes noticeable at about 30 pounds.0 -
People started to noticed around the 10lb loss mark since I started on MFP, however, it has been a journey. I lost roughly half a lb a week from Jan 1st 2012 to Dec 31st 2012. Some people said a few things last year, but very little.
I dropped about 10lbs in 2 months at the beginning of the year and people started to really notice... however I have dropped about 4 inches off my waist, so that would probably be why.0 -
People who see me daily still didn't notice even at a 25 lb loss, except my coworker who took a week off and noticed when she got back (I had lost 19 at that point). People who I see once every few weeks or less noticed around 15-20 lbs. I noticed by the way my clothes fit by about 15 lbs as well.0

15-20... Everyone is starting to notice. :happy:0

Me as well luv. Not noticed yet but I'm fine with that!0 -
A girl in the canteen who had been working on another site the last month noticed this week, which was nice.
My lad has noticed but his weight loss in the last 18 months (through sport only) has been way more dramatic.
I'm not vain but looking forward to some comments in the future; the 'moobs' are gone but I don't generally undress in the office! So few will note this. Double chins gone.
I have wide shoulders and lots of upper torso build (from swimming) so it might take a while.0 -
This time around it was 13 lbs. I had several people come up to me on the same day and say they could tell I was losing. Which is nice to hear cause I hadn't had a significant loss in many many months.0

I went down one pants size, but stayed the same in weight, lost the inches and two people have said something. I will take it!0

Thought my Dr. was going to have a heart attack when he saw me yesterday... Last time I was there I was 100 pounds heavier back in Sept/Oct... My blood pressure was way down and he was shocked and amazed... Felt great. People started to notice at 40 pounds or roughly 10% of my body weight dropped. Now people really notice on a monthly basis or even more frequentlPr0

I agree. I am tall and dont have much to lose so after 5 pounds people seem to notice. I lost 15 but gained it back. Now I am back at the gym trying again

It was about 12 lbs for me, but I think that part of that is that it started coming off my face really early in the process.0

About 20 pounds before family noticed. A little over 30 before everyone else noticed.0

I just started so only time will tell... I do think it will be motivating and nice to hear compliments. I never paid it any attention before, but now that I am in this situation, I think I will make more of a point to compliment other people when I see them losing weight & getting healthy. I had NO IDEA how challenging this is until now.0
