Lastly, opinions are never wrong, nor are they right. They are opinions, nothing more. You can use all the "facts" you want, but at the end of the day, what you believe is specific to you and you alone. Truth is relative, people. Simply because your opinion is mostly in alignment with a majority, or minority, of the population does not make it wrong or right, it just means that more people agree (or disagree) with you.
The part I bolded I wanted to address.
It's generally an argument I've heard from liars and people unwilling to admit they're wrong.
There aren't two sides to every story. Well there are.. there's the truth and someone else's bs spin on it. But there is truth. You can not like it, disagree with it, employ cognitive dissonance, you can do all sorts of fun mind games to shut it out.
But there is truth. Hiding from it does no good. In the end, it always wins.
The notion that one "truth" is better than anyone else's "truth" is unfortunately, in and of itself, a fallacy. Ultimately a small portion of the population determines what is "truth", and other people simply choose to believe it because it is easier than disagreeing or trying to find their own beliefs independent of outside influences.
And before you dismiss me as a conspiracy-loving hack, remember, the only thing I'm actually trying to prove here is that nothing is 100% provable. You can feel free to disagree with me on that all you want though.
i have never in my entire LIFE been happier that i did NOT get a teaching certificate. and simultaniously, i feel SO SO SO SORRY for anyone whose class you have ever been in.

I fail to see how this thread could get locked or deleted. The topic seem harmless enough. I get what you are trying to say and how diplomatically you are trying to say it and since I do not agree with you I will try to be equally diplomatic in my response. You were fine when you were talking about opinions. Your opinion is your own and you can't be wrong about it. There are a few parts where you went wrong.
1. No one is ever 100% wrong, just like no one is ever 100% right.<=== If two parties disagree about something it is not necessarily the case that the truth lies somewhere in the middle. It is entirely possible that one person is completely wrong and another person is completely right. If person A claims that the Eiffel tower is made entirely out of spaghetti sauce and person B says it is made out of metal. Person A is completely wrong and Person B is completely right regardless of what anyone else would have to say about the matter. Simply because they disagree it does not mean that the Eiffel tower is suddenly made up of some sort of metal spaghetti sauce alloy. Binary situations do exist and they are quite common. Any time you are discussing anything fact based.
2. There will always be exceptions<=== This is one of those statements that actually can't be true. If it is true than that means there are not exceptions to this statement. I think what you are actually trying to say here is there are often exceptions.
3. Truth is relative, people.<=== This also can't be true. Truth by definition must be objective. To use a simple example if I flip a coin it will be heads or tails and it can't be neither and it can't be both at the same time and in the same sense. If truth is relative then we don't actually have a method for navigating our own world. We are dependent up somethings being true and other things being false and we have to use the tools we have to try and discern the difference.
I agree with the overall spirit of what you are trying to say however, there is simply no cause to set aside civility simply because you are on a chat forum. It may not be pleasant to be told when you are wrong but if you are open to the possibility then you have the potential to correct inaccurate beliefs and improve your overall picture of the world around you.

Because, in my opinion, he was violating the community rules. The Mods will decide whether or not to agree with me, and decide whether to take further action or not. The opinions of the mods, and their discretion as to who is and is not following the rules set up for MFP, determine who gets strikes and bans. That does not make the mods, or anyone reporting, 100% wrong or 100% right. Thanks for the question, have a nice day!

It doesn't matter what it's about, who's involved, or what links you can come up with. It doesn't matter if you have a hundred people agreeing with you or nobody. It doesn't matter if someone is being courteous or offensive, and it doesn't matter what words they use.
No one is ever 100% wrong, just like no one is ever 100% right. There will always be exceptions, and what feels right for you may not for everyone else, BUT what feels just and morally right for a large group of people may not be that way for the smaller groups either! (Slavery, anyone? It sure seemed like a good idea at the time to a bunch of people!)
Lastly, opinions are never wrong, nor are they right. They are opinions, nothing more. Simply because your opinion is mostly in alignment with a majority, or minority, of the population does not make it wrong or right, it just means that more people agree (or disagree) with you.
No one else is ever going to be in complete agreement with you! But, by the same logic, no one is ever in complete DISagreement with you either. It's easier to find common ground than you might want to believe, if you just try being civil.
Have a nice day, I won't be around to see this thread get locked or deleted so I'll just say thank you for whoever contributes to it.
Um..ok. So if everyone is allowed to their own opinion..why did you report Taunto?

In my opinion this appears to be an empty promise. Seeing as there are subsequent postings I'd call my observation a fact however it seems that there are no facts only opinions. So I will sit here and state this opinion while I float to the moon.0 -

You are correct. Nothing is 100% proven as fact. I concede that it's entirely possible that all of what we consider reality may be a dream of a sleeping giant. This may be the matrix. Blue could actually be green.
But since none of us live our lives actually considering such outlandish claims to be reality.. it's nonsense.
The world we live in is our reality. Up is up. Water is wet. 2 + 2 = 4. These are not random decisions by a power mad group seeking to control the population. They are as close as we have to anything resembling truth. If you seek to deny them there's no way your brain could function enough to even get you out of bed in the morning. You accept every universal truth, the same as the rest of us. When you get in your car you use the gas pedal to go. You don't check to see if maybe this time the hazard lights do it for you. You accept that truth as universal.
So don't try to say "Hey man..it's all relative. What's true for me may not be true for you." If you want to argue terms get a dictionary. If you want to debate size get a ruler. But if you end an argument with "whatever is true for me may not be true for you" you've already lost.
FOR EXAMPLE: It is a clear and obvious truth that I ramble incessantly over complete and utter nonsense on the internet.0 -

I'm absolute in all things because I'm ODC. ODC is the same thing as OCD except its spelled correctly.
I think the joke is funnier if you say "I'm CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are in alphabetical order."0 -
There is a large difference between fact and opinion ... Just stating no we are all wrong doesn't change that....
Fact---- oxygen is required for life
Opinion
Twilight is the worst thing to ever hit bookstands...

It's my opinion that you have those two things confused (with one adjustment):
Fact - Twilight is the worst thing to ever hit movie theaters
Opinion - oxygen is required for life0 -
Ummmmmm, excuse me, but when somebody follows my comment in a discussion (quoted so I know it was me) with "I wish she would shut up," that is 100% wrong; I don't care who you are.0
